    No money 💰 no problem.
Divesite: "Taal Volcano Crater Lake island"
    Taal lake, Batangas, Philippines
    Depth: All depthes (dark water)
Distance: 90 minute swim, 90 minute hike, 10 minute swim
    Level: Advanced
Risks: boat traffic, dehydration, sunburn, rashes from chemicals in the crator lake
    Directions:
Travel to Agoncillo where the swim starts. It's 60 to 90 minutes swimming to Taal Island. Once you arrive turn right and follow the coastline for 20 minutes in till you reach a small concrete pier. From there, find the trail that turns land inwards. Its nice to run Google map while tracking. Eventually you will find a horse trail that leads all the way to the crater lake. From there you can see the crater island a 10 minute swim.
    Locations:
Entry point to start the Taal lake crossing
    goo.gl/maps/eo...
    Start of trail
    goo.gl/maps/s3...
    Midway point of the trail

Since it's our FCOA mission to bring people closer to the sea I like to show the places where you can dive for free. Where you can simple swim from shore and find a cool dive spot.
Now if you have some extra money, hire a coach or instructor so you learn faster. Hire a guide because they can show you creatures you have never seen before and you would never find them by your self. Hire a boat to see more in less time with less effort. And if you can afford it, do your research and buy the highest quality, longest lasting, most comfortable and best looking equipment.
But if you, like me today have no money in your pockets, then lets find out how to Hack the dive sites, how to get to them by hiking trough the jungle, by swimming out to them and by using the same fixes boat captains use to get on top.

If he swam in February 2019, it is still safe because it is Alert Level 0, but if he swam when Alert Level 1 was already raised he is no longer allowed to swim. However, he should also be aware of risks such as the toxicity of the water. It might not affect him now but the toxic composition of the main. crater lake water will manifest itself not immediately but a few years from now if he ingested some of it. Keep safe dude! Stay healthy and get yourself lab tested once in a while to be sure. Great footage!

Keep in mind those are informal settlers living on Taal Island. Their livestocks and their dwellings are prohibited to be there in the first place, as the entire island has already been declared a PERMANENT DANGER ZONE (PDZ) since way before the january eruption happened. The squatters are ubiquitous in the country.

    • @jeroenelout
      @jeroenelout  4 роки тому

@@islandvibez I feel for those people, in their shoes I might make similar choices. If I would have no money and a family to feed then what to do?
Try our luck in the city of Manila? Also not such a safe place with it's air pollution....I pitty kids growing up in the city weather they are rich or poor.
Or we could go back to the vulcanic island of Taal and live close to the water with an escape raft always ready in the water.
We would have space, could plant crops, breed lifestock and do some fishing. Covid-19 wouldn't get there quickly because most people avoid the place.
Every place we live has risks and benefits. When I saw kids growing up on Taal I was happy for them. It felt like they were living true lives, living outside, riding horses, farming and playing in nature.

It's okay to swim on that crater lake that time. There was no alert level, level 1 was raised a month after he swam or after this video got posted. It really depends on the kind of crater lake, Laguna Province's 7 lakes are also crater lakes but swimming is allowed there but yeah with precautions like you need to wear life vest and not swim for long period of time.

@@RigelluxMusic in my mind not sadly, if we didn't have volcanic activity we would not exist. No volcanoes equals no magnetic field.
