Top tip: Whenever you remove a part from your car, always put a shop rag underneath it. This will catch any fluids and parts (gaskets) which might fall off. I learned this from experience.
I got the same DTC P2228 and MAF is reading 9.5 to 12 g/s . Is it normal reading for this vehicle? I've also another issues with turbo: hot air containing oil vapor is coming from compressor inlet side. I this this influences MAF readings g/s and intake air temperature.
@@mohammedpervez the expansion tank will bleed itself, but there might be a bleed screw on the cooling system, some cars have it some don't, i will look on the astra tomorrow. if you have mayo then chances are that you have oil in the system also check your oil filler cap, also cars need there antifreeze changing more regularly now down to the environmental antifreeze they use
Great video! One question though - did it smoke when struggling at low rpm? Or as the turbo kicked in? As otherwise I have the same issue. Actually ordered a new EGR just in case but will have a go at cleaning the original.
@@RichManPoorMotors thanks so much for replying. I bit the bullet and replaced the EGR, no power loss or smoking now. Swirl flap bar fallen off and doesn't stay on but doesn't seem to be causing issues
Swirl flaps change the way the air enters the piston and combustion, the ecu is designed to inject fuel at the correct ratio, if it’s not moving then the air fuel ratio won’t be right for a clean burn, marking on top will show what position flaps are in, also do a leak off test to check your injectors
@Richmanpoormotors, Hi, can you help? I got new egr replaced astra j 1.7cdti 2010 it was ok until took on motorway drove high speed all of a sudden engine power reduced on dash limp mode won't rev over 3500-4000rpm when turn off n back on is fine till it happens again. Does egr need relearning/calibration to ECU or is it plug and play? Code p0400 exhaust gas recirculation flow error code. Where are you based?

Is this a 1.3 cdti engine? Oil filler looks like it's in a differnt place compared to mine that's all..
Really good explanation and a proper job 🎉
Nice little video.would u able do a video on how too remove expansion tank and how too bleed it mineS drty needs a good TLC.
when you say dirty is it like mayo or like a tea cup stain
@@RichManPoorMotors yes
@@RichManPoorMotors I have seen some videos but it doesn't show how too bleed it.

If egr is working check that swirl flaps are working, this will cause engine to smoke I have done a video on this just in the process of editing it

Superb video...is this the same for my astra j 2.0 cdti
I’ve not had a 2.0 in but if it looks the same then it will be the same
@@RichManPoorMotors thank you.
