The way Toni just nonchalantly said at 8:35, "I don't know. I think that might be one you watched on your own..." absolutely killed me. The entire podcast is hysterical.
The charger definitely holds a capacity, enough to light your phone up to say "charging." It only happens if the charger was just unplugged from the wall.
This totally happened to my grandmother. But it was an unspoken thing. Years ago someone got her a frog statue. Then someone else saw that statue and gave her another. Well… she’s now 85 and every single room in her home is decked out with frogs. Some of whom i added myself. I’m sure she has over 500 by now. All because of one gift.
Hahaaaa DOLPHINS!! I told everyone that I was collecting dolphin things and that was my bedroom. I had the rug, the lamps, a ocean themed CD, toothpaste holder, duvet cover, everything dolphin. I eventually threw the lot away 😂
Bicycle - bi (two) + cycle (cuz wheels) Also, the charger thing (22:00 -ish) happens bcuz there is some charge left in the internal components (capactiros) of the charging brick that gets released in tjat split second.
Ok, hear me out... I was mildly curious about the phone charger story, but your answer on why it happened is the answer I didn't know I wanted lol So thank you for teaching me something!
Just when I thought I couldn't love Toni more. There's just something so wholesome and sweet about how delighted she is when she makes these connections in her mind.
As a non-native english speaker, the fact that english speakers grew up with these words without ever connecting them to their individual parts or literal origin is something i noticed very early on in my learning journey Cupboard - a furniture (literally a set of boards) to hold cups and other pottery Pineapple - a fruit (apple) that is pointy and its surface looks like a pine cone Railways - a road/way that is made from long iron rods/rails laid on the ground Aircraft - a crafted object to fly through the air Submarine - a device to go under (sub) the sea (mare) Lightning - the thing in the sky that creates a bright light all around out of a sudden China (as fair porcelain dishes) - because at first, the fine pottery with delicate designs and exceptional quality were not produced in the europe, they were imported from China via the silk route and later on through the marine trade. The name stuck to call all good or expensive or ornate ceramics and even glassware (for food, not for drinking) by the name china And many many more
Word play for you Toni my girl: Blushing = blood rushing Studying = Students dying... I'm dying. I am absolutely crinkled listening to Dr, Best selling author, top dog hip hipper... killing me.
Lifesavers candy. They are donut shaped with a hole in the middle because people kept choking on hard candies and since it’s shaped like a donut if it gets stuck in your throat you can still breathe, saving your life 😂🤷🏻♀️
That’s a cute story…. Not true, but cute. 😊 From Wikipedia: Life Savers are named after their shape, which resembles a traditional ring-style life preserver, also known as a "life saver". Clarence A. Crane, a chocolate manufacturer from Garrettsville, Ohio, invented Life Savers in 1912 as a summer alternative to chocolate that would not melt as easily. Crane used a pill-making machine to create the hard candies with a hole in the middle. He chose the hole-in-the-center shape as a marketing gimmick to make his candy stand out.
Once my aunt said she liked frogs, for years people give her frogs related gifts included a taxidermy frog. She didn't like them that much and had to announce to people that PLEASE don't gave her more frogs related gifts 😂
@Lenoretcldg That's hillarious. My mom warned my sisters and I to never tell anybody about things we might want to collect. That was because she mentioned her array of cookie cutters and was soon awash with them. I told her I was going to collect diamonds.
A good friend of mine once commented while shopping in a store with a couple of lesbian friends, one of them pointed to a little pig figurine and he merely said, "oh that's kind of cute" and was then doomed, forever. From that point on he received little pig figurines for every holiday and birthday and whenever they saw one for sale His house was becoming completely overrun with all these little pigs doing all sorts of cute little things. Dancing, swinging posing wearing all sorts of different outfits, you name the activity they gave him a pig doing it. And he felt that he couldn't get rid of them because they visited often and would recount each and every story of where they found each little pig figure and if one was missing or had gotten moved, they noticed. I learned from him though to not say I liked anything about anything when I was around them or in a store with them! And what was worse is that now when other people came to his house and saw all those pigs, they started getting him little pigs too. What a nightmare!!
I freaking love Toni so much! She is so real and such a character. I don’t have a sister and always wanted one, and if I had one I would want her to be exactly like Toni! I’m adopted so I’m going to pretend. Love you Toni, from your Canadian sis. You’re a total riot! Ryan’s ok too I guess. ❤😂😊
Hi Toni and Ryan. I’m from Yorkshire in the UK and you lost me at the dome conversation and the mention of Doncaster. I live near a city called Doncaster in the north and it has a Dome. But it has a leisure centre ice rink and swimming pool.🏊🏻♀️⛸️🏸.You two crack me up . Thanks for always cheering me up.
This absolutely happened to me. My family knew I liked a nightmare before Christmas, and they enjoyed it aswell so almost every gift I got for years were based off that movie. I actually had to come out and say I didn’t want anything that had to do with that movie ever again 😅
I love animals. However, when I was in my 20’s, raising kids and working an hour from home, a dog just wouldn’t fit into our lifestyle. I won’t keep a dog in a crate 10+ hours a day while I’m at work so it won’t use the restroom on my floor. So, we became a cat family. I’ve loved every cat that has ever adopted me and/or my family. I’m 56 now and I can’t tell you how much “cat crap” (junk…not 💩😂) I’ve been gifted over the years. Necklaces, figurines, coffee mugs, shirts, etc… STOP it already!! 😂😂😂
lol I forgot about the first part of the episode and reading your comment I was thinking “damn did I skip by accident? I think I missed the dog chat” and then I realised what you were talking about 😂
As a fellow Westralian living in the East, the prospect of a Dome being over here is the most excited I've been since I found a Kole Beer in a corner store in Brisbane.
When I was a kid, (1980's) I told my Nana I liked Meatballs, so she'd feed me a full tin after school for a week. No peas, no potatoes....nothing...just a full tin of meatballs. 😂 I've never eaten them since.
I have always loved koalas, ever since I was about 10 years old, and I'm now 54. I have and still accumulate a lot of koala items, and I still love it to this day. I've got blankets, stuffed animals, figurines, you name it, I probably have it in koala form. Love them 🐨🐨🐨
I made the mistake as a 35 year old mentioning I like spongebob!! I got an onslaught of spongebob items for xmas and my birthday, blankets, pj's, snow globe, fish tank..and so much more!! I mean I love spongebob but I'm now 52 and still get stuff 😂😂😂😂
That's actually worse than the generic dolphin or pineapple thing, since you're getting straight up cartoon stuff, and let's face it, not the most esthetically pleasing cartoon at that...
My son used to play this game all the time when he was 6 or 7. “Oh! It’s called a mailbox because it’s a box you put mail in!” Or “Is it called a toothbrush because it’s a brush for your teeth?” He came up with several I had never thought about!
I absolutely had a type of moustaches shirt & they were thick fabric embossed. It was great & myself always have various facial hair configurations going on. So it was not false advertising.
Hiii! So my local store is now selling TIM TAMS!!! I'm so stoked to try them and I'll have to go find the video of Toni telling us how to eat them. I'm in the middle of the US so I'm literally so excited! Every time I think of them I hear Toni saying Tim Tam Jam from that video. 😂 LOVE YOU GUYS! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND MAKING US ALL HAVE A GOOD LAUGH WITH YOU EVERY TIME!
I loved that game😂 Toni not getting it was peak comedy. I have a story similar to Ryans I love to see it. One of my old cell phoned thought it had a SD card inserted eventhough it didn't. That was weird and convenient.
If your charging cable had only recently been pulled out of the wall outlet (or laptop, if that’s where you charge from) there is a few moments where charge is still in the cable which will make your phone get a little bit of power and then the charging stops quickly because the residue charge has gone. Thats why we were always told as kids to turn things off at the switch and wait a bit before pulling it out so we wouldn’t get ‘electrocuted’ (ah, the 80s). PS. Perth girl here too! I miss spearmint mint. Dome is a staple whenever I get over there.
If the charging cube transformer has a capacitor in it it might hold a minuscule charge in it long enough to give a second of charge to make your phone react
My ex-husband was really into NASCAR and the first Christmas he got a Kasey Kahne (NASCAR driver) slow cooker. It works so I use it, but it doesn't come out in public. We also received NASCAR string lights for the Christmas tree, and every year after a new NASCAR Christmas tree ornament, a throw blanket and a pillow. Doesn't fit my decor.
Fun historical fact: during the Colonial times in the US when reading was not fundamental the pineapple on a building was for hospitality. In other words, it would maybe be on a rooming house, restaurant, etc so people would know where to go for such things. That is why if you go to New England today you will see a lot of Pineapples on historical buildings.
I listened to this on Spotify first and then came over to UA-cam for the facial expressions 😂 I love when Toni says 😂🫢😶 …sorry… 😥😶 Edit: I love the Australian culture insight like they name coffee drinks “Fluffy Koala”s. I couldn’t make that up for a stereotypical Aussie SNL skit 😂
Your phone will get the left over power if your charger isn't plugged in. It's just excess energy. But it works the opposite way to so dont leave your phone plugged in if it's no connected to electricity.
With half the episode talking about dome check out the rural wa Katanning dome near me. It’s in an old flower mill and all the bits and pieces are still in there around the counter and chairs and is actually also a hotel so you can book a night to stay at the dome
32:57 Yes, Ryan… it is good shit for everyone. 😂✌🏻❤️ As stated in my previous comment….you’ve completely convinced me that we need Domes in the US. Down with Starbucks! Up with Dome! 😆
How confused did I just get when Toni mentioned Doncaster as I’m from Doncaster in the UK 😂 also had to google Dome and they look so cute! I think they would do well in the UK ❤
Sometimes there is some residual charge in the cable or power box so occasionally it could light your screen up for the split second it takes for it to dissipate. It has happened to me before and this is the theory I came up with. Kind of like when you turn something off at the wall and its still on/lit up for a bit afterwards. Its the remaining power thats within dissipating.
Re the Wedding album... I'm iny sixties and it was quite common for grandmas and others of that age to give teenage girls things for their "glory box"-sheets, towels etc
The plug holds the electicity some times, a bit like a hose and water when you switch of the hose, there's a bit of water left over. the plug holds a little bit of electricity, and therefore your phone thinks its charging. This has happened to me many, many times. Ryan, I get you.
As someone who is AuDHD, when someone tells me they like something, I tend to go overboard with gifting them things of what they said they liked as like my love language I guess. I know, for me, if I mention to someone I like Dr Who and then later they give me something Dr Who related, it makes me feel good. Because they saw this item and thought of me and thought I might like it. So, I tend to do that for other people to let them know I was thinking of them and that I remembered what they said they liked. 🤷♀️
I had peacock colors for my wedding, along with peacock feathers sprinkled in here and there. My family in law took this to the extreme, and now every birthday or Christmas (going on 8 years now) they give me bunch of peacock stuff. They also do this with Harry Potter which I liked when I was a kid, I am now 33, and Dr. Who which I liked in my early 20's but no longer watch. So every Christmas, I get a basket of peacock, harry potter and dr who stuff XD
OH! Speaking of laptops 🤣I've done that prank charging on my laptop. It's the residual charge held in the brick block from the last time it was plugged in that hasn't discharged fully yet.
I worked at a subway in the 90s that had a moniter in the back so we could see if customers were in the store while busy prepping veggies in the back. When we turned the monitor off, you could still see the image of the counter and tables on the screen.
Flipping flamingos. I bought, what at the time was a very unusual find, a handmade metal flamingo that went with my hot tub area of my patio. A few years later they became "on trend" and now I have everything flamingo in gifts 😅
My dad used to call my mom a flamingo b/c of the way she would stand at work. So she hated flamingo stuff. My family has now just bullied her into liking flamingo things over the last 25+ years. 😂😂😂
I just have to let you know I live in Northern Ireland and my Parents always raved about going to Dome in Hillarys when holidaying in Perth, my dad's sadly passed, but my mum leaves for QLD in two weeks and has booked a few days to Perth just for her visit to Dome 😂
Ryan, I have experienced the phone charger thing. The charger may carry a small charge right after unplugging it, so when plugging it into the phone, it will receive a brief charge.
Yes, at our wedding we had rubber duck bride & groom... The flood gates opened for the next 10 years of rubber ducks of a variety of connotations filled our lives... One day, Wifie reached her limit and got rid of the entire collection. 😂😂😂😢😢😢
Oh my god, so true. I once told my Mother in law that I liked "orange slices." (jelly candy, not sure if they have them Au) and she started buying me 2-3 bags for every birthday and Christmas/Easter. I now absolutely despise them ahah
Toni absolutely didn't get the game at all and that made the episode even better :D I'm howling with laughter here
The way Toni just nonchalantly said at 8:35, "I don't know. I think that might be one you watched on your own..." absolutely killed me. The entire podcast is hysterical.
I bet the WWE slow cooker is so you can actually "smell what the rock is cooking"😛
BRILLIANT 😎 🇺🇸
I shouted out loud "get fucked" when Ryan said the slogan of "the champion of slow cookers" 😂
Smell what the Crock is Cooking 😂🎉❤
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If it wasn't you it was going to be me.
The charger definitely holds a capacity, enough to light your phone up to say "charging." It only happens if the charger was just unplugged from the wall.
this has happened to me too. how strange. 😄
Was going to say this!!
Exactly ! I thought that was an universal experience aha
Love Toni so much! I think having her as a friend probably is the best thing ever. She is a freaking ray of sunshine
Lool, sunshine😂😂😂
The wooden spoon part.. Toni just not getting the game at all.. that one got me..
I've been having a pretty crappy time in my life and you two are always making me laugh through my tears to make me smile. Thank you 😊😍🥰

Same with my dad! 😂😂 every single thing had frogs on it and nobody could tell you now where or how it began. Love it
Thanks for curing my depression temporarily ❤ You guys are my medicine 💊
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪

This is a PRICELESS show, CONTROLLED MADNESS.
BRILLIANT 😎 🇺🇸

Came here to say that about the charger as well !! Haha
Always happens with my charger!
Just when I thought I couldn't love Toni more. There's just something so wholesome and sweet about how delighted she is when she makes these connections in her mind.
Yes! Her joy is immeasurable!
As a non-native english speaker, the fact that english speakers grew up with these words without ever connecting them to their individual parts or literal origin is something i noticed very early on in my learning journey
Cupboard - a furniture (literally a set of boards) to hold cups and other pottery
Pineapple - a fruit (apple) that is pointy and its surface looks like a pine cone
Railways - a road/way that is made from long iron rods/rails laid on the ground
Aircraft - a crafted object to fly through the air
Submarine - a device to go under (sub) the sea (mare)
Lightning - the thing in the sky that creates a bright light all around out of a sudden
China (as fair porcelain dishes) - because at first, the fine pottery with delicate designs and exceptional quality were not produced in the europe, they were imported from China via the silk route and later on through the marine trade. The name stuck to call all good or expensive or ornate ceramics and even glassware (for food, not for drinking) by the name china
And many many more
I absolutely hadn't realized cupboard or pineapple!
In this CRAZY WORLD, you guys are SANITY SAVERS.
THANKS 🇺🇸

these are great

Love those.

They’re literally shaped like a safety ring, aka: life saver 😂😂
I was 30 years old before I realized Cruella de Vil was "cruel devil" 😂
also d'evil (like French for "of evil")
😮
TIL
Mindblown 😂
🤯😂
I think that Aloha front door mat would look a lot cuter on fire and in the neighbour's back yard
😂😂😂
*makes a note @AndrewBrownBunchOfLettersAndMaybeANumberICantSeeWell fire themed gifts only 🔥
Toni "playing" the game was I the best laugh I've had in a while 😂😂

Pineapples and Minnie Mouse
@@LisaFerguson-lw8il that is a very smart idea, I will collect diamonds too lol
Is your aunt my aunt?! My grandmother gave her a taxidermy frog strumming a guitar 🤢🤮

Hammer here 😊
The fact that Toni didn't get it was so sweet and hilarious at the same time 😂
As a fellow Westralian living in the East, the prospect of a Dome being over here is the most excited I've been since I found a Kole Beer in a corner store in Brisbane.
When I was a kid, (1980's)
I told my Nana I liked Meatballs, so she'd feed me a full tin after school for a week. No peas, no potatoes....nothing...just a full tin of meatballs. 😂
I've never eaten them since.
I live in America and I’m in on the dome franchise Kickstarter. Ha ha love you guys.🙀😁🤪
In the UK we have a Peterborough, and we say it like “Peterburra”, like Ryan did, so he’s not totally mad 👌🏻
Another word: cupboard
Was literally a board to put your cups on. Now it’s enclosed.
The whole "Roam for Dome" but was hilarious because in the US (and I'm sure other countries) Dome is in reference to something completely different 🤣
I have always loved koalas, ever since I was about 10 years old, and I'm now 54. I have and still accumulate a lot of koala items, and I still love it to this day. I've got blankets, stuffed animals, figurines, you name it, I probably have it in koala form. Love them 🐨🐨🐨

Teeheehee, I'm picturing your collection and having a little chuckle 🤭
😅😅😅
That's actually worse than the generic dolphin or pineapple thing, since you're getting straight up cartoon stuff, and let's face it, not the most esthetically pleasing cartoon at that...

In Ontario Canada there is a city called Thunder Bay. You should open a Dome there, so you can legit call it The ThunderDome 🤣🤣

Omg Toasti n Ryan burn printed toast with the Toni n Ryan silhouette logo❤😍 IT CAN BE DONE
The one and only problem with Perth is that it's still way too close to Melbourne! LOL
I listened to this on Spotify first and then came over to UA-cam for the facial expressions 😂

Your phone will get the left over power if your charger isn't plugged in. It's just excess energy. But it works the opposite way to so dont leave your phone plugged in if it's no connected to electricity.
I keep watching this one, Wooden Spoon takes me outtttt hahahahahahaha
That is WHY 'pineapple' as a safe word IS funny.
I worked with horses, and you best believe EVERY gift I got was horse related 😂
Edit: I love horses, but i dont want them in my home.
How many of those horse-related gifts had some pun along the lines of the saying "don't look a gift horse in the mouth"?
@TonyandRyan Armchair, Surfboard, Rocking-horse, Lipstick, Microwave, Dishwasher, Wallpaper, Eggshell 😂 I can't stop thinking of them now!
With half the episode talking about dome check out the rural wa Katanning dome near me. It’s in an old flower mill and all the bits and pieces are still in there around the counter and chairs and is actually also a hotel so you can book a night to stay at the dome

As stated in my previous comment….you’ve completely convinced me that we need Domes in the US.
Down with Starbucks! Up with Dome! 😆
13:11 light bulb moment 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Light Bulb! 😯 😄
You guys have hyped it up so much that now I want you to open a Dome in the Us. 😂❤
My first thought for the toaster was, “Are the slots smooth, or are there fuzzy strips around them?” 😂
How confused did I just get when Toni mentioned Doncaster as I’m from Doncaster in the UK 😂 also had to google Dome and they look so cute! I think they would do well in the UK ❤
I need yall to sell those hooded blankets and stickers with your cartoon characters on them
As a person who is a part of the WWE Community you’ll be surprised the amount of “ paraphernalia” that is about wrestling 👀

whatever is behind Toni at the approval desk makes it look like she has a GIANT elvis wig and I love it.
So you can be overwhelmed and underwhelmed but can you ever just be whelmed?
hell yes to the toaster when it toasted, it will be you guys silhouette LOL
Sunscreen, teaspoon, lampshade, sunglasses, doorframe... 😂🤷🏻♀️

So, I tend to do that for other people to let them know I was thinking of them and that I remembered what they said they liked. 🤷♀️
As a brit, ive never heard of dome in my life but I would gladly emigrate to aus to work in Melbournes first dome owned by toni and ryan
It’s a windshield unless you guys just have screens on your cars over there🤪
I had peacock colors for my wedding, along with peacock feathers sprinkled in here and there.
The charging thing has definitely happened to me a few times!!!
Yeah, it was an actual thing with old monitors, just not anymore.
Best wishes from Quebec Canada
Flipping flamingos. I bought, what at the time was a very unusual find, a handmade metal flamingo that went with my hot tub area of my patio. A few years later they became "on trend" and now I have everything flamingo in gifts 😅
Could be worse... I walked past a house with a handmade metal mosquito today, imagine getting everything mosquito in gifts! 😄
@@korganrocks3995 wow! That could really bite! 😜
@@clairedodsworth5510 Nice one! 😄
God I love these two!
My phone does that sometimes!!! It’s like the cable has a left over current in it 😂
22:48 THIS HAPPENED TO ME THIS MORNING! I felt like a wizard ⚡️
😂😂😂😢😢😢
It was a carrot 🎂, FYI😂😂😂
small wedding, 12 people at reception
Oh my god, so true. I once told my Mother in law that I liked "orange slices." (jelly candy, not sure if they have them Au) and she started buying me 2-3 bags for every birthday and Christmas/Easter. I now absolutely despise them ahah
The dome in east fremantle still exists, it's my local. Add it to the Dome Rome!
My mind has melted but I'm crying laughing 😂 😂😂
When gymnasts do a cartwheel their bodies look like the wheels of a cart turning! 🤯
Northland is my local. I’m in Bundoora now but moved from West Heidelberg 😊. I would go to a Dome.
