    The blue thing is the deflector dish, they will sometimes fire various particle/energy beams as a tool rather than a weapon. The Phasers (not lasers) come from phaser banks located on the upper and lower portions of the "Saucer" section (not a dome)

    The ship is actually an Excelsior II Class. The Excelsior II has an elongated narrower bridge akin to the later Enterprise classes (Sovereign, Odyssey, Constitution III) with various darker segments. The blue dish under the saucer is a deflector dish that pushes objects away while at warp speed. Amazing attention to detail by the author though

      If I remember correctly it was predating Lakota class?
      Lakota is easy to recognize with massive additional Impulse Engines.

      @@TheRezro the Lakota class (i think you mean USS Lakota - Excelsior refit ?) was made around ST Generations. Excelsior 2 is closer to PIC, you can see the stouter nacelles. (and the Obena has Sovereign nacelles)

    With how much scifi stuff LSG covers, it's always amusing to see how much he's actually removed from scifi media.

      Funny fact, I got into space engineers for the building so my Sci-Fi knowledge is limited, I have enjoyed star ship troopers, stargate and star wars in there entirety. But with series like star trek its hard to know even where to start.

      @@LastStandGamers Bigest problem with shows from 90's two first seazons are bit rough. With dated special effects many new people bouncing off from them and new shows are mehhh.
      That way I'm gonna recomend for complete newbies (yes a lot of pepole gonna eat me)ST Strange New Worlds and ST Enterprise. Then I go to 90's shows, after that watch all pre J.J. Abrams films.
      Or if you are real try hard go for original serie from 60's XD.
      Watching films isn't best way to start becouse you missing a lot of context there.

      @@LastStandGamers Something more contemporarily accessible would be Strange New Worlds. It's mostly episodic and encapsulates the message of hope that the original tried to convey without the cheesiness of the original series... and a better special effects budget.

    GAAH! Drove me crazy with this one. Dome? Engine bay? Reactor core? The Saucer section (dome), nacelles (engine bay), Mater/Anti-mater Warp Core (reactor). The blue area on the front is the navigational deflector. It projects a positron field in front of the ship to push space debris away from the ship.

    If you've got no problem with old special effects I would suggest to start in release order, for the length don't worry if you watch a couple while you eat dinner you'll be done quicker than you'd want, the full list of main series is: The original series, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine (a bit more optional but cool concept), Voyager, Enterprise and then if you want the new ones Discovery, Strange new worlds e Picard. If you'd like something less episodic with better special effects to start with maybe I'd suggest discovery, it's not as good as the older ones but it's shorter and can give you a good starting point to then expand the story.

    The warp core works on the reaction between matter and antimatter, the dylithium crystals is the catalyst. The resulting energy is used to power the entire ship and of course the warp drive. When they say the antimatter confinement is compromised that's basically a meltdown and thus the famous warp core breach.
    The warp nacelles(also referred to as the engines) form the subspace field around the ship allowing it to go faster than light.
    Finally the main deflector dish is a multi purpose part of the ship, it's been used in the show from long range communication to high energy beams and more.
    Additionally the red engines at the back of the saucer are the impulse engine, not to be mistaken with the maneuvering thrusters those are the yellow bits spread around the entire ship. Impulse is used for movement below FTL and thrusters are used in docking.
    This is how I understand it at least. I think The Next Generation and Voyager are the two series that really go deep into the mechanics..
    Anyway, Arron asked for it he's getting it hehe

    • @danielhomant2832
      @danielhomant2832 3 місяці тому +1

      Generally correct but for a few details.
      The warp nacelles provide no thrust and are exclusively for warp travel. They do indeed generate the warp field.
      The main reactor doesn't power the whole ship, instead it is almost exclusively for warp travel, though it also provides additional power for weapons and shields.
      For sublight travel, called impulse, and general ship systems power, Starfleet ships typically use a more "conventional" fusion reactor. This is why they can continue to operate even after ejecting the warp core.

    • @TheRezro
      @TheRezro 3 місяці тому

      @@danielhomant2832 Those glowing red sections on front of nacelles are Busard collectors. They suck in deuter dispersed in space, what is used in both warp reactor to generate plasma and in the fusion engine.

    Man this is my dream game i have a good idea if you guys a faction related to the united federation of planets the overall ship designs stay but the military power increases in the trillions (called the united federation front) it would be a good idea if your battling a fairly large faction

  • @almotgaming9398
    @almotgaming9398 3 місяці тому

    If the suggestion works this faction doesn't necessarily need powerful ships which explains the lack of firepower in each federation starship compared to more heavily armed factions

    Start with the original series and then the 6 movies. you could then go on to watch the Animated Series if you want or go on to The Next Generation / Deep Space Nine. Voyager is good and Enterprise is underrated and then there are the four Next Generation films. The Abram films are fine on their own but start to move away from what Star Trek is. As for the other series I'd say save your self the headache and skip them.

    • @mediocreman2

      Voyager doesn't really add much, even though it sounds cool on paper. And I wouldn't waste time on animated stuff, but yeah Enterprise was better than I expected and liked Scott Bacula's performance.

      Voyager is basically a Trek fan-fic what become TV series. It is not good, but over time is saved by characters.
      Star Trek Enterprise become good from third season. Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks is actually good.
