- Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan are beginning a three-day state visit to the UK. They will be receiving a ceremonial welcome and a carriage ride to the mall, while a state banquet will later be hosted by King Charles at Buckingham Palace.

The King must be exhausted with his treatments, and now the new prostate cancer surgery he will shortly face. What a wonderful State Visit for the wonderful Emperor and Empress of Japan. They look so happy and healthy. This is a very important and heartfelt event and to hear and learn of the ideas and observations of the Japanese people from the Emperor is wonderful. What a wonderful friendship between the UK and the people of Japan.
