      I let the bath bombs dry for another 2 days after frosting them to make sure they are hard enough to ship! I shrink wrap and wrap in a layer of bubble wrap. I also always pack my boxes with shred to make sure nothing can move around. They seem to ship well! 😊
      Thanks for watching! ♥️

    Great video! I liked your creative idea for making the indented bath bombs! I just wanted to mention, if you hold your hand closer to the tip when piping, you have more control over the pastry bag and you're not putting as much strain on your hand. The repetition of piping and that strain on your hand can start to cause issues like carpal tunnel. Just a little tip from a cake decorator :)

    Thank you for this video. I want to add the polysorbrate 80 I believe I spelled that wrong sorry. Can irritate some peoples skin. I noticed in some bath bombs I would break out and become very itchy with burning and others I’ll be fine. That’s when I heard this name I am like wait what is this. Found out some people use it in the bathbombs and it can cause some skin irritation to those with sensitive skin or those with allergies. I never knew that’s what caused it. And yes I am allergic to cinnamon so I never buy anything with cinnamon and if it doesn’t show the oils or fragrance used I will not buy one. Other than this. Your video was very helpful and amazing great job.

    • @sudsysoapworks
      @sudsysoapworks  10 днів тому +1

      Thanks for watching! ❤️ You can omit the poly 80 but it does help bind the colors and oils to the water. If you leave it out then it may make the tub slippery and cause a hazard. There may be a natural replacement out there but as far as I know there isn’t. I would love if there was! I’ll have to do some research 🤔

    • @IsabellaAshe

      @ yes it just could be due to my autoimmune disorder. A lot things that never use to bother me bother me now after it was triggered.
      But You can type in pubmed polysorbate 80.

      I would give the bath bomb 2-3 days to harden but it may be done sooner than that! Just keep checking in on it. If you find it is still not hardening due to the humidity you can try purchasing a dehumidifier to keep in the area you have your bath bombs. I use one during the humid summer and it helps tremendously! Hope this helps! 💕

    • @sudsysoapworks

      Hi there! 😊 We use water soluble dye as well as Polysorbate 80 to prevent staining. Water soluble dye is not supposed to stain tubs. There may be a possibility of staining if the tubs are painted, lacking enamel, or are scratched up. Polysorbate 80 helps bind all the oils and dye to the water to also prevent staining.

    • @sudsysoapworks
      @sudsysoapworks  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Nikki! I noticed you asked this question on another video so I’ll answer it here! I typically use 1%-3% FO in my bath Bomb recipe. If the IFRA says 18% for category 9 for example, you could safely use up to 18% FO. But that doesn’t mean you should! 1-3% will be fine, but if you are finding that the scent is not as strong as you would like, then feel free to add more if the IFRA rate allows it.

    Please advise - I have have made & wasted 3 batches of bath bombs in the past (haven't tried this recipe) what happens is my batch turns brown over night. they turn a hideous brown color, they smell great but look terrible. What is turning them brown?? the fragrance oil I use says it is for bath bombs. My recipe has no rubbing alcohol in it, does that help with from turning brown?
    PLEASE HELP!!

      Hi Brenda! Bath bombs can be very tricky unfortunately 😣 when fragrances have a chemical in them called vanillin, they will turn brown. Do you know if your fragrance has this in it? The supplier will provide this information and usually it will have the % of vanillin on the bottle. If you try this recipe, I suggest dividing it by 4 to make a very small batch.

    any alternative for alcohol

    • @sudsysoapworks
      @sudsysoapworks  3 роки тому

      Hello! You can use witch hazel or water as a replacement. I would add in small increments since the water will not evaporate as fast as the alcohol, which could make your mix too wet 😊

      @@sudsysoapworks can I ask what the alcohol is for? I don’t see many recipes with alcohol in it . Love the product 💜💜💜

    • @sudsysoapworks
      @sudsysoapworks  2 роки тому

      The alcohol is just a wet ingredient for the mix. Water makes the mix too wet and will cause the batch to activate early. Alcohol doesn’t really cause a reaction between the baking soda and citric acid. Also because alcohol evaporated quickly, I find my bath bombs dry and harden faster. You can replace the alcohol with water or witch hazel but I would add in small increments to avoid getting your mix too wet.

    I tried the frosting. Could not get your consistency. Waisted 15 oz of cream of tarter (my mistake, should have used 15 grams NOT OUNCES. MY BAD.) and a 3 oz of bubble up. Not counting the baking soda because it's affordable. Just those expensive ingredients waisted.

    • @sudsysoapworks
      @sudsysoapworks  3 роки тому +2

      Yes you can definitely skip the SLSA! The SLSA will add extra foam and bubbles but you do not need it in your recipe. 1 tbsp is equal to about 14.7 ml for the water and alcohol. The amount of kaolin clay is 5 g. Thanks for watching! 💕

    Why do people always add alcohol to their mixtures ? I'm genuinely curious

    • @sudsysoapworks
      @sudsysoapworks  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Jessica! Alcohol evaporates quickly so it is easier to work with in terms of the mix not getting too wet. It also won’t prematurely activate the mix as much as water will. Witch hazel can also be used in place of alcohol but I personally did not like using it because it made my mix too wet!
