I couldn't find your other comment anymore 😞 Did you use the same name 🤔
Anyway, when I was using Alpha Arbutin on it's own I also couldn't see much of a difference. I used the Ascorbic Acid 8% and Alpha Arbutin 2% and it gave me much better results for my dark spots.

Hmm, I cannot help you to choose the right moisturizer since what works for me may not work for you. Personally, I do not like both. I love La Roche Posay Moisturizers, especially the Ultra Fluid.
But generally speaking, you have to try a few and see if you really need it or if you are better off with another treatment or oil. There is no other way around :)

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  3 роки тому

      Okay.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% cannot be used alongside any pure or ethylated forms of Vitamin C.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% can only be used alongside Vitamin C derivatives:
      - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%
      - Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F
      - Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10%
I recommend keeping it simple. Use Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and Azelaic Acid in the morning and the Niacinamide and Granactive Retinoid 2% in Emulsion in the evening.

    Hi Melissa!!
I finally went to buy the niacinamide + zinc but I couldn't find the alpha arbutin because it was out of stock. However I found the vitamin c silicone 30% but I don't know what is it for and is that okay to be a substitute for the alpha arbutin? I want to darken some acne scars.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  3 роки тому +1

Hello ash, well the thing is that you cannot use the Vitamin c silicone 30% with Niacinamide.
Generally, Vitamin C can help you with wrinkles that are already present and with brightening the skin tone. It is excellent to use in combination with alpha arbutin.
I am not sure if it will be as effective without the Alpha Arbutin. So you can start with the products you have and add the Alpha Arbutin as soon as it is back in stock :)

You have to adjust it based on your skin needs. So you can only use the masque 2x a week. Otherwise, it may be very drying, and as a result, you may get skin irritation, but apart from that, you can use the products daily or only once a day or only the ones you want to use. It isn't easy to guide because it is individual. Therefore, you need to experiment to see what works best for you :)

It can, yes. If you are new to skincare products, your skin needs to adjust to them, so there is always a good chance it does purge during the first time when using the products. But once your skin has adjusted, it will improve it for sure. Unless you have a sensitivity to some ingredients that you never know if you haven't tested it before.. 😜

Hello :) I can help you to figure it out and if you like to I can check it again :)
Cosrx Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser
      The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% = Water-Based Serum
The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA = Water-Based Serum
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% = Suspension
      The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution =Masque (video ua-cam.com/video/alyaPIaMLs4/v-deo.html)
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoids 2% Emulsion = Same as Anhydrous Solution
      Cerave Daily Lotion = Lotion
The general rule of thumb for the order of application is:
      1. Water-based serums
      2. Anhydrous Solutions and Oil Formulations
      3. Lotions & Creams & suspensions
      Important:
If you have more than one water-based serum, you can apply based on the priority of your concern (the product that targets the most important concern should go first). And it’s recommended applying eye-serums (such as Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG) first after cleansing.
It’s recommended using no more than 3 serum formulations in a single routine for optimal skin penetration.
About 2-3 drops of each serum and 1 pea-sized amount of creams should be enough for the full face and neck.
Use a "patting" application method, as opposed to "rubbing."
Always apply sunscreen when you are exposed to the sun!!
Some products can have a foaming effect upon application depending on the other products you are using in your regimen. The foaming should not last longer than a few seconds and both should not remain sticky once absorbed into the skin. (Video: ua-cam.com/video/r04W7rQV1R0/v-deo.html)
"Pilling" (snakeskin, shedding) can occur due to too much product. Your skin can only absorb a certain amount of product, and any excess will be left on top of the skin so that when the next product is being applied, it rubs off. (Video: ua-cam.com/video/l_C7HtO826A/v-deo.html)
If you wish to incorporate multiple Vitamin C's, Retinoids, and/or Direct Acids into your skincare regimen, it's suggested using them on alternate evenings and waiting until your skin has adjusted to one before introducing another.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% cannot be used alongside any pure or ethylated forms of Vitamin C.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% can only be used alongside Vitamin C derivatives:

I have a question and would appreciate if you can help! I have always used basic cleanse &moisturize skin care but I feel like I need more with first signs of aging. Have oily T zone, enlarged pores, blackheads and some old acne scars here and there and normal skin in other areas. I have below routine for AM & PM but want to incorporate Ordinary buffet to morning and Granactive Retinoid Emulsion to PM. But freaking out with these ingredients of mix and do not mix! Do you think it is ok of I add them to below routine?
    AM:
La Roche Posay Effaclar or Cerave Foaming cleanser
    Ordinary Niacinamide serum
Darphin ideal resource or hydraskin light moisturiser
Darphin Intral if I am going to be exposed to sun
    PM:
    Same cleansers as AM
    Niacinamide serum
Body Shop vitamin E or Cetaphil night cream
I have also recently started using AHA/BHA solution from Ordinary once a week and it seems to be helping a lot with skin texture! I just am not sure if my night moisturiser is suitable to use after that.

      Hey :)
You can use it like this:
      AM Routine:
      - Cleanse
      - Buffet
      - Niacinamide
      - Moisturizer
      - SPF
Buffet and Niacinamide should not be used with pure form of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). Also, Buffet should not be used with exfoliating acids (AHA or BHA).
      PM Routine:
      - Cleanse
      - Granactive Retinoid
      - (Optional) Moistuizer
PM 2 (1-2 times per week):
      - Cleanse
      - Peeling Solution
      - Moisturizer

      Hello :)
I don't believe that including Azelaic Acid would be too much, as it is very gentle on the skin and should work well.
Regarding the water, I've given the quality a lot of thought. In the past, I've traveled and lived in different areas and countries. I think water quality can be a significant issue, not only due to hardness, but potentially also due to contamination with bacteria or substances added to keep it clean. I always recommend people rinse it off their skin. Some people tend to leave it on, thinking it provides extra hydration. However, I've often read about this causing breakouts, so I believe water quality can indeed be a major factor. It's definitely something to consider!

      Yes of course! :)

    Hello
Recently i got the pigmentation on my face
    I am worried about that
Could you tell me is that balance set good for that? Or any other products should i used?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  2 роки тому

The Ordinary has a new set that can help with pigmentation; it's called "The Bright Set" use that one.
Just keep in mind that if you have Melasma, it won't work. But it can help with dark spots or pigmentation that's still in the skin surface :) Otherwise, you need to visit a doctor and ask for advice.

Hi I have a answer do you use the ordinary cream every day or once a week?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  3 роки тому

Do you mean the natural moisturizing factors (moisturizer)? You can use it daily, or you can apply it only when needed. This is up to you :)
