    WITH SOOOOOO MANY PEOPLE BEING CLAUSTROPHOBIC WHYYYYYYYY DOESN'T THE MEDICAL FIELD MAKE SOMETHING MORE EASIER TO GET THROUGH

    As a therapist .. I want to assure you that it is going to be fine. I help people with anxiety then myself was into it . What I did , I visualised the machine for few minutes and imagined my anxiety and fear going away. When I started the procedure, I started belly: stomach breathing and continued for 7 min. I felt instant calm and was very relaxed. Let’s try exploring our strengths. You are going to be okay and it’s not that hard . I wish you come out of whatever you are going through and eventually continueto the healing journey .

    It should be mandatory that they all be replaced with open mri’s, after all, this should not be a horrible part of your treatment plan.

    Loud noises I can handle, it's the damn closeness of the walls and ceiling that get to me.
    **UPDATE** I got through the hour long process without freaking out.
    I was prescribed a full tablet of Xanax, had the little towel over my face and listened to music without a problem.
    I don’t usually like the dope feeling and really only felt tired or “relaxed”. I recommend going that route but remember to not fall asleep.
    Confession- I fell asleep lol

    Some imaging facilities offer patients the option to watch a movie or stream tv during their scan. This can avoid needing sedation for many.

    I never understood why patients would freak out in the scanner, until I had to have a mri of my pit. Ooooooh weeeeee that shit is scary lmaooo. I feel for the patients now. Just try to go to your happy place while in the scanner and don’t open your eyes lol

    It's nothing serious like that even if you are claustrophobic,trust me guys everything is going to be great 👍. I'm a extreme claustrophobic and I had my MRI with contrast test last week. I took beeta blocker an hour before test and went with my husband and it was like I was walking around the garden of flowers and it just took hardly 25 minutes. I had pelvic MRI. So just don't think about any fear ,use anti depressant and go with your loved ones and enjoy. May you all stay safe 🙏

    The last MRI i had i told the technician that i was scared of the noise before we started and she was such an ass about it, i was very surprised that she hadn't met anyone who didn't like the loud sounds before, and kept making annoying comments about it :/ Hopefully next time I'll have someone nicer as my technician

    • @BassGal92

      I'm autistic so I would not like the noise either. Unfortunately if I were to ever get an MRI, I'd probably get someone like your tech, especially since non-autistic people don't have correct knowledge of autism.

    • @MRIMan
      @MRIMan  2 роки тому +2

      Hopefully you get a tech like me. I have a non verbal autistic son and have scanned several autistic patients . The best thing is to be on a open mri or 1.5 mri machine. These machine are less noise than a 3T MRI. Also if possible wear ear plugs and headphones. This helps tremendously.

    The narrator didn't want to say it but I will: Xanax (generic: Alprazolam) anti-anxiety medication helps. Works for me. Also, look for a provider with the 3T wide bore MRI he mentioned.
