On a personal level I was in heaven watching this vid Scotty. I used to run canoe tours on the upper Colo and it was of the most rewarding times of my life. Don't know if that's where you were but it's identical. God I miss it. The water is crystal clear and the sandstone escarpments staggeringly beautiful.....and the wildlife! This place is only 120 mins drive from the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. It's unbelievable what's in our backyard if you make the effort. Wonderful work Scotty.

    Hi Scotty
Great to see you enjoying the bush again. Bass migrate to brackish water to breed in the winter months and travel back to the upper part of fresh water stream or rivers during late spring early summer. Water temp also has a bearing on bass feeding habits. Bass feed best when the air pressure drops. Surface lures work best when the air pressure drops under 1000.

It's snake season for sure! Seen an Eastern Brown and Red-belly Back snake at my escape property - the Red-belly Black likes to hunt near and even under water. It is venomous, but not usually deadly. Most snakes dislike company, so making noise and vibration nearby will make them stay out of your way or move off. The Colo river always looks great for a swim - can't say I've ever caught any fish there either! Try fishing late in the afternoon, just before sunset. Great pack selection. Great campsite as well, and lucky find with the wood. Lovely transition from fire to night to morning. Beautiful Aussie bush, scenic and peaceful.

Hey mate, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I'm gonna start trying other bait and see if I have any luck with that. Fingers crossed.

Awesome video as always mate! Had a blast a few weeks back climbing The Castle down in the Budawangs. This gets me keen to go and check out Colo country :)

Oh nice mate! I'm still yet to make it to the top of the castle. I'll try and get back there soon. The Colo is some beautiful country, just like the Budawangs.
