John Ndichũ biography: Ndamũciarĩte e mũthamaki, arigicĩirio nĩ njogu ngingo. 80yearold mum recalls

In this episode of Itugi cia Ngogoyo, we speak to John Ndichu's 80-year-old mother on the life and times of this legendary musician. Ngina wa Muriu says he gave birth to the king when he was born with the umbilical cord around his neck. Mama Ngina shows us the 'Mukungugu' Kamaru found when he visted Ndichu's home. Famed for his ever-green hits like Mama Ciru, Cucu wa Gakunga, Uthoni wa Ndangwa, Mwendwa Veronica, Mwaria Ciene, Akinyi, Mary Mama, and many more, Ndichu was born in 1957 and died in 1997 after suffering from a stroke at the age 40. His condition became worse when doctors went on strike and he died two days to the 1997 general election. Also, David Murathe single-handedly funded Ndichu's burial.
