  • Welcome to the sixth and final video in the Trex 500 E Electronics and Setup series. In this video we wrap up setting the cyclic pitch and paint this series done! I will most likely do a shake down flight and make sure the Gryo is dialed in before handing it over to Bobby Lightning for his Maiden Flight. Look for more videos coming soon. Thanks for watching and as always, Happy Flying Friends!

Another "That's a wrap". Well done George. Major milestone for me Saturday last. I finally got the resolve to put my Goblin in FFF. It flew like it was on rails. Huge grin when the Tx timer beeped. ROG

Hey WC! Thanks for posting and the kind remarks. The build is finally done and it is almost ready for Bob. I am just going to spin it up and set the Gyro for Bob and it will be a done deal! Looks for Bob's maiden soon!

I am going on a Cruise to Alaska, departing for San Francisco on the 4th. I am going to try and make it over to Muncie on 7/31 or 8/1 for a day trip.

Hey bud! Thanks for posting and the kind remarks. I will spin it up and make sure the gain is set up for Bob, then turn it over. I am sure he is chomping at the bit to get his hands on this heli. Congrats on your FFF with the Goblin! Are you going to IRCHA this year?

Hi there Mike. No, you didn't miss a video. I didn't include balancing the blades in this series. ;)

Hi George. Videos are great. I have a question. I aligned a swash plate on trex 500, using a metal rod attached to main shaft and rotating it over three points, so the swash plate seems to be perfect. I also aligned arms for a flybar and upper arms. When I measured the distance between the floor surface and a blade edge (front of the blade and back) I noticed that it is 4 mm higher then on the opposit blade. Blades are perfectly neutral (middle stick). I dont want to touch the swash plate. What else could I adjust? I rotated the blades, and the other one also raised 4 mm higher on the left side of the heli.

Hi there and thanks for posting and the kind remarks. It is been several years since I have messed around with the helis, I am pretty much a quad guy now, but I will do my best to help out.
Leveling the swash, only insures that the swash is level and at 90 degree with the shaft. I am not sure about the swash leveling method you used, but I would recommend a swash leveling gauge. That will insure that regardless of cyclic pitch, the swash is level. That being said, there is only one way to mechanically level the swash, and that is the servo linkage to the swash.
I would also confirm that the servo arms are not moving as you rotate the blades to eliminate any electrical / servo control issues. Hope this helps and good luck. Please post back if you figure it out.
