Dude honestly in the beginning I felt like it would be a weird "first YT video" kinda video. How wrong I was! Great how you explain the tools while using them and only as soon as you use them. It makes it way more intuitive to understand. Great tutorial, thank you :)
Great tutorial. Making buildings in this game seems a lot more difficult than in RCT3, but it will take some getting used to. I've seen some people create some really cool buildings.
I was looking for how to rotate the pieces vertical so glad you showed me this. It's not shown anywhere in the game. They really should have made a tutorial on this.
well i tried it but it does not work. You can only turn some items in all directions. Its really annoying and makes building harder then it need to be.
Thanks for giving me an idea or two on how to create my own design. You are so meticulous, though, that I could never put half as much detail into a creation as you did. But I guess imagination is an important factor too.
I'm enjoying the slow methodical approach to building things in PC and the explanations you're giving. These are what I would consider quality videos. +1 to subscribed.
Bro, I just want to thank you, I havent seen your other videos but after looking for ages I finally found your video. Just as a short review, Even though you have a heavy accent you talk really clearly and the instructions couldn't be better. Just everything you need, no extra jibberish. The only thing you can improve is the editing. Perhaps showing what shortcut you use by having it displayed on the screen aswell! Keep up the videos ! +1 sub +1 like
Good Video, learned some new Stuff again. But i have a few Questions 1. Can you somehow save a Path within a Blueprint? 2. Do you know what does Art Pieces are for? Their Color fit never to Anything, can you some how put Textures on it? Like Wood or Stone?
Thanks a lot Prof. Awesome! 1. Sadly no. 2. You can't put textures on them - at least by now - I really hope it will be a thing at some point in the future. I have to admit, I haven't used these art pieces yet, simply because I have the texture issue as well.
Alright, jeah i hope they give you a way to put Textures on it, those Shapes are a Awesome tool but with just flashy Colors on them, you cant use them anywhere.
how to decorate and create a more decorative building-you did a good job of showing a more visually pleasing less utilitarian building...all my buildings are very plain compared to the ones in your video
Excellent tutorial with a beautiful design. Just a couple of questions -- when you add this building to your game, will the people in the game interact with it (like enter it), or is the building just decoration? Also, it is easy to share it with the rest of the community? Again, nice work!
Thanks a lot. No people will not enter it, but with the tools I showed in the video you can build one that people can enter ;) It is very easy to share, just select the building by clicking it, or using the multiselect tool and make it a blueprint, which can be shared. :)
Why is it whenever I use a roof piece I am not able to use the Advanced Movement tool? I am not able to move the roof to create a lip overhanging the side of the building like you did in the video because of it.
you mean like I did in the timelapse part of the video? it's because I splitted the roof from the building to use the advanced move tool to make it overhang a bit
This is a great tutorial... How did you get your roof pieces to slide (11:50)?? I can't get my roof/wall pieces to slide freely; they stick to the grid.
thanks a lot Zillie. You need to split the roof from the building - just select the roof in building mode and click "split selection from building" in the selection tab on the upper right corner, press x and move it ;)
While being in building mode just select a shop you want to build in the shop tag and place it where you want. You will need to change the building to your need though.
Hey, really nice tutorial. But it seems you have a lot more building pieces than me, and you can change your grid size all the way down to 0.25 while mine stops at 2. Do you know why this is?
Hey, thanks a lot. Hmm, my grid is 2 horizontally, only vertical it can be set to 0. I have more building peaces than you? That shouldn't be the case, do you use the steam version of the game?
Hey, thanks a lot Domenic. You need to split the roof from the building - just select the roof in building mode and click "split selection from building" in the selection tab on the upper right corner, press x and move it ;)
Yes, I see now. The store is the root and the building is all the fluff. It is possible to have multiple stores inside a building but it looks like each of them must have a path connected. No dining areas I guess.
How do you get windows so perfectly aligned? 12:40 is where I am referencing. I seem to be having difficulties with windows and doors and other scenery. (New to the game) EDIT: I am an idiot and did not notice the duplicate and move option x.x
My walls wont rotate. It might help if you explained what keys you are pressing to rotate your walls. In order for me to change directions I have to stop building a section and press done then I have to start a new set on the wall which makes building anything for blue prints pointless as you cannot select multiple walls. I do not understand what I am doing wrong here. Can someone tell me why I cannot build a simple square? Rotate only works on the first piece, then after that, the next segment will not turn for me
Hum. As I said quite early in the tutorial, I press Z to rotate pieces (Y if you are on a german keyboard layout), and it doesn't change over the building process. If that doesn't work for you I'm have no idea. You may consider having a look at the bug-report forum forums.planetcoaster.com/forumdisplay.php/37-Bug-Reports
Something I cant seem to do is be able to select multiple pieces by holding down the control button then selecting. Except for some reason it only selects one piece at a time, actually the control button doesn't work for me. I've seen mnt tutorials and they all seem to work for others. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks.
@@AdfoTV . Yes thanks . I've found out myself eventually that the shift button now does what the control button once did. I thought I was missing something watching all the tutorials. Cheers.
When you have placed a wall, you can rotate walls on the grid only, so 90° when tapping z. If you want to rotate another wall freely you need to start a new "building".
Hey, I recorded the tutorial in beta-stage, unfortunately they changed some things with final release so it doesn't work like I showed in the video any more. :( There are 2 workarounds tho: 1. as you said, cmd (strg) + x. or 2. select a wall piece with the items you want to duplicate, and delete the wall piece aferwards.

I didn't know how much I actually needed this tutorial..!! I've played for a while now, and I thought I knew everything, but I guess not! Thanks! :D

This was an amazing watch! Nice job
Your English is fantastic, great tutorial right to the point and concise instructions.
Very nice tutorial Adfo and a beautiful building!
thanks a lot sim park observer :)
Exactly the tutorial looking for! I like your way of explaining. Telling us every step and key combination you use.
very nice tutorial! even for players that know the controls just seeing the workflow was very useful! thank you
oh thanks a lot for your kind words :)

Thanks a lot Robbie Smith :)
Lovely tutorial. And it was to the point. Thank you.
very helpful! cool how you duplicated the building deleted the walls to copy the wall decorations for the other side. Nice!
thx. yeah sometimes it's easier to duplicate and delete peices than select them and copy around.
Very well-detailed tutorial. Thanks for the information!
thanks for your kind words, I hope it helps :)
This helped me alot. Thanks bro, good tutorial👌
Thanks for the great video. Really helped me and encouraged me to build some cool stuff.
thanks and hope to see some of yous stuff in the future :)
Great tutorial, very helpful ! Thanks for posting Adfo :)
You're welcome! I'm glad I could help :)

Hey man, thanks for the feedback! oh yeah, shortcut inserts are a great idea, thx. :)
do you know how to extend a coaster's station ? Sometimes i can by clicking on it but can't get to work consistently.
if it doesn't work automatically you have to go to the station tab
So only when im in the station tab i can expand it ? that would explain alot xd
correct :D
Thank you so much! You were so clear I could finally understand how to do this : )
I'm glad to help :)
Excellent tutorial!!! Thanks for the video!
Your voice is really calming, great video!
haha, thank you Kian :)
This is incredible, thanks for this
Thank You Very Much. Just what I needed.
Thank you!!! I created my very first building thanks to you, I'm so happy!!
Oh thank you. Have fun building :)
Thanks I needed this
I'm glad it helped :)
Awesome tutorial, thank you.
thanks a lot :)
awesome! thank you! im practicing for planet zoo :)
Helped me a lot. Thanks!
You're welcome :)
The best ive made is a wooden uneven shack which looks okay for tunnels but not a castle setting or station
Thank you so much! This was very clear and helped me a lot.
Thanks a lot Wendy, glad to hear it helped :)

Yeah, they are very handy in one way, but kinda useless by now I think
Nice video-there's plenty of videos on basic building needed something more advanced...thank you
Thx.
What exactly do you mean with "more advanced"?
how to decorate and create a more decorative building-you did a good job of showing a more visually pleasing less utilitarian building...all my buildings are very plain compared to the ones in your video
Nice and helpful video.... could you please write wich buttons you used ( keyboard ) anyway thx

was wondering it too thanks bro for the tutorial :)
you're welcome python-nl
AdfoTV another question, how do you actually split the roof up?
Just select the pieces you want to split in building mode and click "split selection from building" in the selection tab on the upper right corner.
if you still play please do more tutorials i just started and am really stuck .
This is a great tutorial... How did you get your roof pieces to slide (11:50)?? I can't get my roof/wall pieces to slide freely; they stick to the grid.

stupid question. Does the custom buildings are only for decoration, or can be use it to put a shop or something?
You can use it as decoration only, but you can put a shop in them as well, basically you can make it whatever you want.
how u put the shop inside. And wow. you answer very fast, nice man
While being in building mode just select a shop you want to build in the shop tag and place it where you want. You will need to change the building to your need though.
awesome, thanks man
How do you select the roof in the x axis? It doesn't behave like that
This helped me a lot! Vielen dank!
Perfect! :) thx
this game is just insane. its like an empty canvas.
Well done! Thank You
Thx a lot mama bear
You're cool, man
Thanks so much
Thanks so much. Very needed. Also, is there anywhere I can find a printable download of all the controls and hot keys?
You're welcome. :)
Not that I'm aware of, sorry :( If I got time I may make an pdf - not sure though

building mode and click "split selection from building" in the selection
tab on the upper right corner, press x and move it ;)
Nice building tutorial. How do I turn this into a restaurant or place of business??
You simply build in a store ;)
Yes, I see now. The store is the root and the building is all the fluff.
It is possible to have multiple stores inside a building but it looks like each of them must have a path connected. No dining areas I guess.
Yes, if you add multiple storers you need to connect each to a path.
Dining areas are not in the game - yet? ;)
Thanks

EDIT: I am an idiot and did not notice the duplicate and move option x.x
haha glad to hear you found out how I did it by yourself, and sorry for not replying earlier. ;)
All good! You probably said it in the video and I just did not hear it xD I was building while listening to the video so I most likely missed it.
Thank you!
So when I click and hold instead of copying the post for the other side, what happens is I create a select all box instead
Thanks! This helped.
Dude....thank you.
Thank you so much
Thank you u deserve a sub
it wont let me duplicate 12.14 on your video keeps saying cant duplicate more than one building at the same time . help
If I'm correct you didnt explain how to select multiple parts. I cant get it to work.
Like you do in 6:53
Just hold down crtl. it's at 2:10. :)
I missed that thanks :)

Hey is there a way that I can place wall pieces and stuff without it snapping to the grid?
Short answer: No, every wall will snap on the grid. You could use other objects as wall, but it raises the poly count.
Wow!

Oh yeah. for some reason the devs changed the button for multiselecting items years into the games live from control to shift.
@@AdfoTV . Yes thanks . I've found out myself eventually that the shift button now does what the control button once did. I thought I was missing something watching all the tutorials. Cheers.
@@AdfoTV ps. Thank you for replying promptly and thank you for the tutorial help.

When you have placed a wall, you can rotate walls on the grid only, so 90° when tapping z. If you want to rotate another wall freely you need to start a new "building".
thank you
my "custom" tab only has building options and not walls, windows, etc.. am I missing a step here?
Oh sorry I have no idea. can you maybe provide a screenshot?
AdfoTV I was not clicking "building" was my problem. 👍
lol okay, glad to hear you figured it out yourself :)
I need Help @ 6:50 ... in cant place the Selectet items on Grid.... only with STRG + X
Hey, I recorded the tutorial in beta-stage, unfortunately they changed some things with final release so it doesn't work like I showed in the video any more. :(

das trifft es recht gut, ja :D
Nein, habe einfach zu viele internationale Zuschauer. ;)
Now i can build a building!
woop woop :D
I still cant build that good tho!
don't worry it takes a lot of practice, just keep on building and trying new stuff. you will get better everytime. :)
Thanks for the advice :D
How do you make it spin 90 degrees?
ua-cam.com/video/xJ9DBpf8Y3M/v-deo.html
Z?
correct, z on an english keyboard, y on a german keyboard.
WoW ! What a great video . Thank You so much and here is a SUB from me .
thanks a lot, I hope it helped! :)
AdfoTV i just got this game last night and gave it a tey but it was hard . So this video def gonna help me .
oh welcome to planet coaster! it has a steep learning curve if you are ambitious, but it's worth the pratice imo!
AdfoTV looks like a great game . Thnx for the videos my friend .
I bet you used a 3d mouse to navigate, didnt you? :P
Uhm, I use a normal mouse :D
lol ok. I thought because of the smooth transitions between the scrolling ;)
Nice tutorial. With your slowly speech, you can understand it, having another mother language...
thx a lot BerlinKoeln.
Took me 15 minutes to place a walls 😐
