- I make the easiest scrappy fall leaves quilt and table runner. This is fun, easy and a scrap buster too! I teach how to make the easiest scrappy fall leaf block which you can make a quilt or a table runner with. I also had so much fun with this make because I didn't use a pattern I just sewed what I had in my scraps.

I enjoy making smaller projects. I have been quilting for almost 40 years and have accumulated a lot of large quilts. I keep several for beds in my home but most are given away at Christmas. My daughters and grandchildren get to pick and choose for their friends and co workers each Thanksgiving after dinner and dishes are done. It has become a tradition in our family. I just love making the quilts and trying new patterns so to pass them along is fun for me.

from Gerry- I sometimes use muslin but you must wash and iron it first so it shrinks and then the weave is much better. The table runners are so pretty. Blessings.

I am working on a table runner right now that has that save design and they’re going to turn out to be 9 inch quilt blocks. I however love little things and I just bought myself a 2 1/2 inch block lock squaring tool. I’m so excited to use . Thank you for giving me this wonderful idea to use up my scraps.

On your second layout, if you put all 4 stems together in a 4 patch in the center, count as 1 block and then sash. So many possibilities!

I myself don’t really like table runners but my youngest daughter loves them so I play and make her some plus table mats. I love the quilting pattern Blue Block choose very nice. Now seriously did the engineer know he purchased those books or did he find out when you opened the present like my husband usually does it’s amazing how clever they are at times 😂😂
I have an autumn coloring palate. These are my colors. Table runner can also hang over a door. ❤
I use a blank background block in the center of my table runners to extend the length and give a place for your "item", flowers, a candle, etc without covering the design.
I started the same blocks last week! I made three diff sizes and am adding sm ones together in one block and putting a strip around the medium size blocks, so all blocks will be the same size as the largest blocks. I am using Kona Silver as my background with scrappy bright Batiks, but each leaf is a color but scrappy, ei, green, yellow, gold, orange, red and brown. I may try one all scrappy color non-Batiks like yours! So pretty!

Just use your normal sewing machine..no need for special quilting machine.
I wonder about doing these leaves in Halloween prints or colors! Since fall and Halloween go together, maybe it would work

At the 16:40-ish mark you had arranged four leaves into 4-patch! Don't discount that arrangement for your Autumn leaves.

Muslin works in some items, but best to preshrink. Don't ask how I know this.😢
Background piecing always looks better with low volume prints. Muslin is so boring.
