Please use the blur 2 sharpness effekt in shorter/quicker shutter I was always thinking i'm squinting or that I have to wear glasses. By the way, great video, as always.
I just purchased this switcher. I noticed you have 5 rails on your pedalboard but the octa-switch is taking up the first two rails (due to the patch cables. I need 4 rails for pedals and want the switch to only use the first rail. After hooking up patch cables, if I use 90 degree plugs, what pedalboard is able to allow me to do this. Pedal train nova is 14.5” with 5 rails but the classic 3 is 16” with 5 rails. These seem to be my options. Any suggestions?
Very nice for those who want pedals + controling a real amp. For those who wanna save money for their overall rig- Helix LT. Would give you 8 footswitches for presets/scenes/ on-off effects. Would control your amp. Would replace your amp- extra money saved. Would take the same if not less space than your overall pedalboard (pedals+"The Strip") I had a pedalboard + the original Octaswitch, loved it at the time, but never going back to pedals (and amps). Use what you like and what you can afford, of course :)
Head hurt now. Only know one way to play. Me turn amp on. Plug guitar to little box. Make little box go click. E chord go Ka- Boom. Brain slammed to other side of skull. Big red Carl thing make head hurt more now.
Thanks!! I dig that's it's RED. My ACCEL PEDALBOARD is YELLOW. Colour Reminds me to have a Sense of LEVITY and PLAYFULNESS with Playing Guitar-Music. So, Did You Ever Listen to DARK SIDE OF THE MOON? You Could do a LISTENING SESSION Video, with Mood Lighting, etc. Go For it!!😉
It is bigger than comparable switchers, but not unreasonably so given what they've fit into it. It fits perfectly on the board here, so surely no problem? Also agree with comments on the CM aesthetics; they don't seem to do a great job of making their gear look premium. Although in the market, not sure I would buy this. The one retailer currently selling this in the UK has it for sale at over £400 (down from £625 - but it's only just come on the market - surely not legal to do that?).
i wish the strip looked more like the octaswitch mkIII with two rows of buttons so itll be shorter widthwise. i lreally ike the strips midi function and instant access. hopefully the next strip version will look more like the octaswitch mkIII
I am going to watch this video repeatedly - with freshly shorn testicles - I swear until I understand every nuance of what Dr. Evil’s nephew is talking about this Carl Martin switcher and it’s feature/function set! Question: 1) Within all of the 8 loops, can any given loop run multiple pedals? For example, Loop 1 = 2 or 3 fuzz pedals in series, Loop 2 = 5 overdrives in series, Loop 3 = a few modulation pedals in series, ... Loop 8 = a couple of stereo delay/reverb effects...inside the amp’s effects loop? 2)
Hi Henning! Thanks for the vid! I got a question for you that I haven't seen pop up anywhere else (might be my eyes though). If I want to hook up two amps with the octa-switch and switch both of the two amps' channels with it as well - running them in parallel both at the same time - , would I have to use a gigrig humdinger or radial aby bigshot tonebone after the outputs (to avoid ground hum) or are the outputs galvanized?? Sorry if any of that is wrong, I struggle with knowledge of such technicalities. Thanks!
I'm thinking of getting me a switcher. And the midi and amp switching capabilities are really great feature I missed on the older models. I'm really curious about the price, because their switching products were a bit expensive for me. If it's above €300, I will get a switcher from a different brand.
Thanks for the video - I know you did a lot of videos on the ES8 a few years ago and are in a great position to compare this vs the ES8 - what are your thoughts?
The simplicity of the CM The Strip fascinates me in its capability for sub-loop creative capability. For example,... 1) sub-loop OD stacking with say a an EHX tri-parallel mixer in CM Loop 1 with three different OD/Drive pedal tones. The ECX-TPM would allow individual or mixing capability to get various Loop 1 “sub-loop” drive tones. Say,...a JHS Morning Glory, a Ceriatone Centura and a DRV 1981 all in parallel via the EHX-TPM as CM Loop 1 (or Loop 2-4). You get the point. 2) Use an Earthquarker Devices Swiss Things in Loop 6, 7 or 8 on the CM The Strip. That would offer all kinds of interesting “sub-loop 7A” and/or “sub-loop 7B”,...more stereo capability and unusual creative tonal possibilities!
Why don't you ask everyone how many stereo pedals do you have? I have 5. The short of it is this switcher does satisfy my stereo needs.

Shutter is 1/50... anything else looks to stroby
I want that thing...
Carl Martin Octaswitch MKII and MK3 I bought because of HP's video 😊.
me too!

no idea… go for the bigger board, I guess.
Price?
I have no idea!
PremierGuitar says it's $499 in the US.
What can i say, it's a dog eat dog world -woof

That Andy, what a cad! 🤣
A very neat piece of gear for the working musician, handier than a pocket on a tee shirt.
Will this work with my upcoming Covids Vaccine ??
Oh Dear Lord!
your focus pulling is total BS, making this unwatchable
Think a boost will work instead of running back to the amp in the effects loop?
For that price I'll keep my Harley Benton FXL8 Pro... way cheaper, more pedals in loop, easy bank switching...
Also 5:07 That's not wat she said...
Bo
Stereo FTW!!! 👍🏽
The never ending game of I can open my mouth wider than yours. Wanna hit our teeth together?? Who wouldn’t!? 🐶🐶
@14:49 Well SHUT THE FRONT DOOR AND JUST TAKE MY MONEY !!

I always enjoy Henning's video.. but this product is too much like math. :)
Bigg, deeper, width?! Seriously Henning, no jokes?!?!?
Would be terrible to spill beer on any pedal, but especially one with dip switches on the face.
Hi , is there another (cheaper) switcher/looper with 2 outputs? Thx
Only 8 presets. Would be great if it had more presets
I need a new pedalboard with this switcher so baddd now (and the Harley Benton dc units) :’(
Have you found a good pedalboard for this switcher??

Not sure, but there is a good chance you need some form of hum cancellation box.
There it is! Thanks!

the ES8 has a lot more functionality
@@EytschPi42 I know but would you miss the parallel loops and pedal ordering really?
I think that Harley Benton FXL8 Pro is still the best affordable option out there, for the price and options that it provides
No midi.
@@MATCHLESS789 It does have MIDI, which has even more options than this one

Carl Martin should hire better cosmetic designer. I have been thinking this for... more than 10 years.
