I made it to the end at least, but couldn't beat Simon. There's no indication of turning the lights on and off to make him vulnerable, so I just kept dying.
I used to play this game and never made it past the first stage because the game makes no mention of how you can jump on the other characters and even launch them horizontally through the air which is absolutely necessary to progress.
The player looked confused in one stage where he could not leave the exit because he forgot to find the chinese food. this is an excellent playthrough of a very long game. I prefer this version over the SNES.
i have this on both SNES and Genesis. and it was one of those good nicktoons, until Rugrats oversaturated itself, and then came spongebob to destroy Nickelodeon... until Invader Zim came to at least make things a little better.
Stumbled on this today and pick it up, at a glance I thought it was Stumpy's invention. Can't say I remember the cartoon or the game but I think it's 90's gold!
I remember when I finally beat this as a kid... accomplishment.. Afterwards I would just make it to the Mall and sit a the beginning just to listen to the music on that level
This game was very cool idea as a kid. However, it had some major flaws that kinda pushed it into the realm of suck for most kids. 1. The Teamwork mechanic: a bit of meta brilliance on the part of the game devs: in the show, The Gromble (head monster teacher) always stressed the importance of teamwork and relying on your friends. The devs took this idea and, à la Lost Vikings, you have some puzzle elements requiring the use of all three monsters. However, it is not as well implemented as Lost Vikings, as in that game, each Viking was unique, and their special traits could be used regardless of whether the other two were present. This game forces you into awkward positioning where you have to initiate the move, wait for the animation to play, and when the animation finishes you have to contend with floppy controls while in midair. 2. The Silence: I don't just mean sound, I mean the overall lack of textual input for the player. Even Earthworm Jim had some basic tongue in cheek moments (remember "Launch The Cow"?) And other little animation tidbits, but this game is just flat, flat, flat. If the MCs didn't look like they do in the game, you could be playing a Boogerman clone. 3. Lack of Scintillation: the palette, delivery, sound, etc. Of the game are very blah. No jokes, aside from the toilet humor of the powerups, and the boss fights feel very uninspired. There is absolutely none of the understated humor and terror of the original cartoon in this game.
What are your thoughts on this game? I read an article on Retro Junk near the end of the 2000s on games which aren’t good on the Genesis or SNES, and this was one of the games featured! Other games in the article include Double Dragon 5, Bubsy and Shaq Fu. But then again, the article does feature Mortal Kombat 3...
I bought this game on the Genesis, and man this was actually pretty hard to beat. I got far once but I was tired and wanted to stop. Then I realized there is no passwords to save your place! Like holy hell they expected you to sit and beat the whole game in one day?! I've tried the codes they do not work. So screw it, I'm watching this to see the ending lol
I think the game doesn't live up to its potential. I mean the graphics and animations are great. Just the level design bothers me. You wouldn't visit a high school with a mile high climbing frame or a parcel warehouse with tunnels. Such a letdown.
I remember this game but it was so hard!
Once the music starts getting faster, you know the level is getting harder.
Omfg the nostalgia. You’ve unlocked soo many memories.
Out of all of the licensed Sega Genesis games, this is one of them.
Joe's grump, anger and scary

The real nightmare was trying to get them to stand on each other next to a ledge 😂 ahh real memories!
I liked this game, but it was hard. I don't think I ever beat it as a kid.
I never did as a kid either! Only until my late teen years. What a frustrating broken game

Одна из первых моих игр на SEGA!!!Очень сложная игра для меня была тогда)
Simon being shipped to Australia.
Perhaps he’ll meet Rocko from there.
great game but a password feature would have been nice since the last couple of levels are very long.

Low Roar 1:46
i got pair of socks that have ickis on them.
The annoying beep beep beep you can sometimes hear is because it's running on an emulator.
High Roar 1:20
High Roar
What functions do you switch to Ickis, Oblina, or Krumm and/or use the trio ability?
i played it a lot as a kid lol i did no damage gameplay of this game :)
How are you able to change characters?
I used to love this game, 25 years on, it's kinda sad how damn awful the music is though - ha.
Is the genesis and snes versions different or the same

The Garbage and sewer is a good metaphor for this GAME.
Yeah I was very disappointed when I rented it as a kid

You also wouldn't see (real) monsters throwing their eyeballs around.. it's fantasy
