Hey Lachie, your videos rules! I really benefit from your approach to instructing, something I'd really like to figure out. I've been working these lockdown passes on 10P grapplers for several months now, and thanks to how you've explained them, I'm having heaps of success passing and taking the back from here. Cheers coach!
I learned this ( the lockdown) back in the early 2000's from a JJJ guy. He called it a Scorpion Lock so that is how I have always described it. Used it during many of my mma fights for years. Talking about the half guard lockdown. Anyway was working out with a guy today who I was talking about it and he called it the lockdown and couldn't remember the escape so I'm hitting yt looking for good skills to add to my toolbox.
I just got a couple of your DVDs and they are great! Plus a lot of your techniques vids on youtube show me how to fix the gaps in some of my go to techniques. Thank you!!
Reaching down like you did just another third way is exactly the way to do it. It always works 100% then if they were in a gi You can reach through grab the side of the leg go knee the belly! And then it’s really easy to just step through and do whatever you do it’s a very easy thing I worked on tonight with my guys that’s how I learned it and it never fails
very nice vid... great reminder on not flaring the elbow when you push the knee down... I think 10th planet calls that 100%. Just as you say to be aware of the kimura, I've also had to be keenly aware of "free NJ" on the other arm... basically getting rubber guarded or oma plata'd from 1/2 guard.
Good and simple demonstration. The only problem is that the guy doing the lockdown doesn't have upper body control. Most escapes shown on UA-cam feature people who aren't very familiar with this position and they are just having a leg connection. As a general rule: if you don't have the upper body control... You don't have a lockdown. That being said. Without upper body control these escapes are great.
Anymore insight on saving the knee from the electric chair when used as a submission? (when the opponent happens to have the right body and tech. to severely damages the knee from the position and cares less for the sweep)?
The only problem with these kinds of Lockdown escapes is that the guy who has the Lockdown does not have any upper body control. Without upper body control, there is no Lockdown. There are no easy ways to pass the Lockdown, especially not the Lotus Lockdown which is a modified version.
The 1 dislike is from Eddie Bravo
Why?
Ahahha
So much better than Gracie Breakdowns that seem self important and go 15 minutes longer than is necessary.
That’s a really cool story. Thanks for sharing.
The Rener Gracie one-liners and memes are worth it though.
Breeeehhhh how did it take 5 mins to notice Craig jones
Gotta change this caption to (Lachlan Giles & Craig Jones!) Cool to see him so young

I got my meniscus teared by this move... 6 months after surgery and pt now...
The escape or the lockdown
Woah, this Craig looks like Danaher black belt Kreg Jones!
Hard to figure out which legs are who's.
Craig Jones not talking is disturbing.

Does this work against corona virus lockdown?
got my knee dislocated yesterday in a tournament because I didnt know about this. Still won... but at what cost lol (1yr white belt)
Beautiful
Any pointers on how to prevent knee injury when playing with the lockdown? Thanks
If you don't want to blow your knee out don't do retarded 10th planet shit.
whats the song at the beginning
I tore my ACL because I tried to use brute force to escape… Don’t be like me. Use technique.
Complete tear of my ACL trying to escape from lockdown
At the 1:00 min mark Craig Jones lies back...Hands on head...”mate, you ain’t going anywhere...”
Young Craig

6:30 chair
Anymore insight on saving the knee from the electric chair when used as a submission? (when the opponent happens to have the right body and tech. to severely damages the knee from the position and cares less for the sweep)?
Jared McLuskey I thought electric chair was mainly attacking the groin rather than knee?
stretch your groin and hips a lot so when you get caught you can just eat it
Mr.Grunt yea agreed it’s pretty hard to sub someone with this if they have decent flexibility. Don’t have to be insanely flexible either
Craig look so fine & youthful here. 😍🔥
My knee wishes I watched this before 😢
😢
Fuck Craig is showing up on every video I click on what is happening
성재형 멘트가 좋은데요?? 많이 해본 멘트
Must be a Craig Jones doppleganger...🤔

Craig before he started eating tainted kangaroo meat!
this is the most miserable craig has been in so many years
Excellent... but the whole purpose of the electric chair is NOT the knee and that comment shows how much you know about it.
craig jones look boring
