  • A revelation of the darker side to Walt Disney's character looking at his racist, anti-Semitic, misogynist tendencies which finally led to a pathological hatred of communists and an active particpation in McCarthy's House Committee on Un-American Activities.

Walt Disney is a genius! Look at the countless people who have enjoyed Disneyland and made great memories because of his vision. He made everyone’s lives much much better. He was a great man. 🐭

Another example for the history books: that a man with charisma, a certain charm, and the ability to create a polished public image can achieve a great deal, for good or ill, despite being barking mad. Why did the FBI black out those files? What did they really say? What possible horrors did the man commit during the McCarthy era, a time when such actions were the norm?

At that time, most companies in America were mostly male-dominated with women providing smaller support roles. There were several prominent women within Walt Disney Productions, well before WWII made women the backbone of the American workforce. In speeches made to his employees on February 10 and 11, 1941, Walt observed that women artists could fully equal their male counterparts, and were being included in his studio animation training program

@ckMC13410 Well for the Jews his favorites in the studio were the Sherman Brothers in fact everyone else in the studio was jealous of them. They saw him as a father. As for woman when his company turned against he took the workers that he trusted and loved the most on a good will tour, that team had woman in it, in fact she inspired a lot of the art they used. Watch "Walt Disney and El Grupo," "The Boys: the Sherman Brothers story," and "Walt: The man behind the myth."

@ckMC13410 One thing you need to keep in mind (if you watch the documentaries I mentioned) Walt Disney was demanding and the only people he ever said "good job" too were the Sherman Brothers. Chances are these people that got fired were just not good and their race had nothing to do with it. He worked with blacks, Jews, and Woman who said he's the kindest spirit. And these people were probably good at what they did. More people said good things about him, and these people weren't fired by him.

No, you can't. Because whenever someone makes, or influences art, their ideologies are put into it, and become propaganda. Whether it is subtle, or loud. People with dangerous thinking tend to make dangerous art, called propaganda.

@DaisyFknMadeline Do you know anything about Walt Disney? Did you know he always wanted to make Aladdin? an Arab princess. Did you know Small World was a ride to teach the world we are all the same? It's actually a peace anthem. Walt Disney would LOVE the new movies they made, in fact people in the studio his family and animators who lived in his time made sure they can make movies in a way Disney would approve. Learn about the studio before talking.

This documentary can go to hell. So untrue. Look at how many people worked for him for over 30 years and loved him. There are a lot more of them than the few people complaining on here.

They are the ideals of freedom, and laws to protect the freedoms that are a divine right. To say that the Constitution is outdated is saying that freedom itself is outdated because that is what the Constitution is all about.

One more thing, If I chose to help people in some way then in return I would hope for only a thank you. Walt Disney thought he was in the position of some type of "Worshiped God" but when he was being unfair and his workers fought back, his plan was to hired a gangster to scare and or kill them? this is the guy who made bambi? I seriously laugh when I think of how this man thought he was so entitled to judge and ruin people's life's the way he did. All in all we pay back everything when we die.

Look back at the movies you've watched... Look at the morals hidden in them. Most are horrible, such as to gold dig, or marry a gold digger... Or, to be a crook, or marry one. Or, marry a way older man. Almost all moms are evil. Etc. Disney animated films are FILLED with bad stuff.
The best ones are Mulan (just I, not II - II is racist), Brave, Tarzan, and Pocahontas (just I, not II, because both starts to be telling non-"white" girls to favor "whites"). Most of the rest are awful.

I kind of understand his anger and feeling of betrayal because he worked very hard to create his dream studio and the Disney animators were still the best paid cartoonists, but enforcing a caste system and making people work out of love for animation all damn day ...

Whats to stop rich folk from creating monopolies, using money to influence government, to pay lower and lower wages?. It was only through the introduction of some socialist ideals that capitalism is less flawed. Like the great depression, lasseiz-faire capitalism failed and a mixed market was introduce, ie some left-wing policies
