This one was special. I had been told about this route by Jamie over at Street Pigeon Mtb, and he said that it was very good. I didn’t realise quite how good it would be and I certainly didn’t expect to see the things that I did.
I will be sure to return very soon, even if it’s just to explore the lower glen (Glen Tilt) a bit more and see what else I can find.

Great video Andrew! As an American it's wonderful to see the Scottish countryside from your perspective. It would be cool to see how all those places you talk about are spelled because those Scottish names are just crazy sounding! Keep up the great vids!
They are almost always spelt completely different to how they are said. Gealic makes zero sense to me.

I would've loved a little longer drone shot of you going over the edge into the glen at 11 mins in, as the steepness of the side of the Glen was well highlighted in that shot, but I'm not here to split hairs. Really good video, and I'm smiling, because there's a raft of mountains and good hills to cover in Scotland. Bring em on!
Great that yi got a guid break in the weather, and the Star Wars production made me smile as, both I (when I lived in Scotland) and my son (in Stirling) have worked on TV and Film sets .....Scotland really does attract a lot of that activity.

I would have let it run in that position longer if I knew how good it looked, but I am just using the beacon for the drone, I don’t actually see what it sees until I edit the video.

Another superb adventure, loved the way it genuinely portrays how much work riding an emtb can be .......we all get fed up of the "that's cheating" or "it's easy riding one of those" so it was good to see the legs going wi the angle of the go pro,few saves too on the way down,good work fella!

I was there this weekend! Didn't go up that hill but was riding the same access road. I was wondering why they had widened it in places... now I know :) That was great luck seeing the deer and eagle. We only saw sheep lol. Great Video :)

We tried to do the Beinn a Ghlo Loop Trail but went the wrong way and ran out of time. Will need to get a trailforks subscription before attempting it again lol.

Well that was epic. I did pretty much the same route up and down as you on my Specialized Enduro 2017 27.5. Have to admit to a bit of walk a bike going up. The filming is definitely the Star Wars spin off series Obi-Wan or Pilgrim I think I heard it called. I was up there 29th May - 5th June and did Carn a’ Chlamain on the 4th June. Also I got dropped off in Braemar and cycled the full Glen Tilt from Linn of Dee route, complete with three crossings of the river. It’s excellent and you pass the Falls of Tarf. I gave those 2 cell site relay stations a good look too. What you saw from above of the filming was the rally point and logistics, and the temporary wooden structures did look to me like some kind of Ewok village! I really wish I had that drone, amazing footage. It was a great week, did a few laps of Lagan Wolftrax, AE forest on the way up and down. Coming back up in August….. Blair Atholl and Blair Castle grounds are fantastic, its a great base for accessing the Cairngorms.
I am planning to do the Linn of Dee through Glen Feshie to Aviemore next time, but I hear some of the paths are badly decayed. Got to find out.
Keep up the great videos. You should set up some guided multi day MTB Scotland tours, you have a great manner, skills and persona to make something like that work.

I’ve done Linn of Dee to Glen Feshie before, it’s largely cycle-able and worth doing, but there are river crossings and washed away sections of trail.
Looks amazing , what a great day , rare for us Scot’s to have such a nice day, loved the surprises, (Eagle & Deer, ). but. 11.27 (i don’t think you loved that one , hope you didn’t hurt your self to much), Easy to see why Star Wars directors picked that location for some scenes. … out of this world !!

that was an absolutely brilliant vid, fantastic scenery , deer et all ,that decent looks awesome , so was the going up ,, defo an advert for lecky bikes which i have never considered before , o you rate them ? ( i am sure that i am not the only one who does not give a dam for the film set , just hope they clean up and take their rubbish away with them .)
I’d definitely recommend trying an Ebike out to see if you get one with it first, but I like them👍

Nope, not stopped. I’m pretty sure they were finished filming when I was there, so no real security issues. That and it’s a public right of way through the set.

Good stuff. That's a great looking bike helmet, I've got some sort of Giro road bike thing that makes me look like a complete bellend.
I think it looks good, but many don’t. Suppose it’s all personal preference.

Hey mate, not sure cos I just started ebiking but I heard it was easier on the ebike to do uphills with the saddle down. Love the videos 🤘🏼
Not all the way down, but it does help to have it lower than normal as it lowers your centre of gravity and also helps get more weight transferred to the rear wheel

What’s the Kreiga like to ride with? I have a bigger one for the motorbike and was thinking about getting the hydro one for mtb but thought it’d be too heavy and hot?
It is both heavy and hot compared Mtb specific stuff, but the comfort, security and build quality is, as I’m sure you’ll know, very good.

Can you tell me where the fire road starts? It looks like a good place to rehab my leg, as I’m looking for some scenic fire roads to ride👍
You can start from Blair Atholl. I usually get the train there. It's lovely all the way up the glen. You're next to the river almost all the way. You can continue up the fire road for about 12 miles to the Falls of Tarf. After that it's singletrack. It's all slightly uphill with no real hills and you could think you'd enjoy a roll back but everytime I've been in Glen Tilt there's a downhill headwind.

Awesome, though I think it's better when your go pro is higher up - when it's on your helmet it's more like we are actually there riding it whereas on your chest it's not quite the same - too much bike in shot
I agree, but it’s nice not to have to wear a full face helmet all the time, especially on these longer adventure rides.

I think the rear disc has tempered from too much heat, I’ve had the same issue before.
At the top, can you see the Two Towers or Gondor? Good thing you have an e-bike, you might encounter some Orcs.

The good thing about Scotland is you have the right to roam, so they can only ask you to leave they can't make you leave. Like in the UK they had the star wars set on lock down.
Very good point, they also chose a very popular walking and cycling route to do it on.
