That connection and vibe and everything is awesome
Tu es la SEULE a avoir détronnée Tarja... Bravo Floor... Magnifique, je suis avec toi (je suis du signe du poisson comme toi... Lol !)... Tu as dépassé le Tarjamania... SUPER...
Great quality! Quick sidebar-does anyone know why Henk and Floor switch roles for the ‘I am the Mask you wear” verse? This is different than the normal version where Christine sings this.
Tarja left the band 17 years ago. To be honest I find it pathetic that people still whine about that, especially under videos of Nightwish nowadays. Tarja has a great solo career, listen to that and stop complaining about something that happened so many years ago. Floor is now longer with Nightwish than Tarja ever was.
I actually liked the first performance better. Because it was for the first time the crowd was way more overwhelmed by the element of surprise, Henk didn’t had monitor problems and got the lyrics correct. Nevertheless, despite the technical issues, they nailed this performance as well. They’re consummate professionals and amazing musicians!
First, this song isn’t from Tarja. It’s from Andrew Lloyd Webber. Second, it’s your opinion that Tarja’s version is the best. It’s by far not a fact. And third, instead of wasting your time with comments as such, you could’ve enjoyed listening to your favorite singer. Probably no one here cares that you prefer Tarja.
The “Phantom” here is none other then ‘the’ Henk Poort, a renowned Dutch opera singer, who played the Phantom in the Dutch version of the musical. As I said in the description, he had technical issues during this performance with the in-ear monitors, preventing him from hearing himself.
While I enjoy Floor's singing, these two fall short on this duet. They mix up who is supposed to sing what on one spot and Henk didn't know the proper lyrics in another. To me this took away from the performance. Henk errors when he sings, "all though you turn to me to glance behind", should have been, all though you turn FROM me to glance behind. The other part is when Henk sings, "I am the mask you wear" then floor sings "but its me they hear", is backwards. Actually it is Christine (Floor) who should sing SHE is the mask you wear", then the phantom (Henk should have responded) "its me they hear". I also don't care for Henk trying to sound like a metal singer. He isn't and to me it sounds strained, it is not his genre and that seems obvious. To me, these things took away from the piece. Just my thoughts.
Keep in mind that this performance had a lot of technical issues for Henk, hence why he messed up the lyrics while trying to hear himself. The first night went better. What I find interesting is that you say it’s not ‘Henk’s genre’ to use distortion in his voice. Excuse me, but who are you to judge? It’s basically the same as saying Floor singing classical can’t happen, because she’s a ‘metal singer’. So, according to you every artist should stick to ‘their’ genre? The whole point of symphonic metal actually originates from people stepping out of certain comfort zones and breaking boundaries. Hence why we have bands like Nightwish, creating the music they feel like creating, without any musical boundaries. You also say you think Henk is straining his voice, which is untrue. It’s your opinion that you don’t like it, that is fine, but he’s not straining while using distortion. He actually learned the proper technique to use it safely. That was far from his comfort zone as well, as distortion is a no-go in opera. But like Henk says himself: “Good music is good music.”
@Joshi van Rijswijk The phantom is not even an opera but a musical. And Floor is trained in multiple gebres; classical, opera, rock, pop. The school she went to expanded their curriculum because after two years she mastered the 4 year curriculum.
@@Joshivr That may be your opinion but I disagree. Henk sounds strained and un-natural not his forte. The technical difficulty had nothing to do with the miss ques, he simply doesn't know the piece even though he played the Phantom years ago. he makes the same mistakes every performance, in fact, even more in one i saw him do with Floor. I never said Henk strained his voice, the passage sounded unnatural and strained, there is a difference! The reason for different genres is because different people have different skills and voices. Not everyone can be an opera singer, metal singer, pop singer, country singer or glam band singer. It doesn't matter how much they "step out of their comfort zone", it is not their genre and it will never sound right. Metal is not Henk's genre and he doesn't do it well, that's all. Again, my opinion. Checkout Tarja and Marko's version, it is excellent, with the correct lyrics and the proper person singing the passages. Or check any other rendition, Sarah Brightman or any of the other vocalists who did this piece with many different male counterparts. They are all done properly.
@@Valkaria Its a musical thats true... Too bad Floor doesn't hit a higher note at the end like Sarah Brightman does... If it was in West End or Broddway, she couldn't do it this way either... But cm'on Not everybody can be a Sarah Brightman, isn't it true? Henk sounded strained on this one, he is way past is prime, its sad but we're all humans. At least I'm glad they brought the song back to the setlist! Its a great song!

Absolutely beautiful! Love her tone so much.
I’m not sure, but Floor’s vocal is something miraculous, in any way she touches my deep soul how nobody before 🙏👏🏻👍🏼❤️
Best quality version of this performance I’ve seen yet
This is Phenomenal ❤️
Great quality recording!!! Well done !!
Just an iPhone 13 pro! But nevertheless I’m happy with the quality as well. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@Joshivr I recorded the first night (27-11-2022), see my channel to enjoy
Henk’s mic seems not set right, fading in some areas. Band and Floor were amazing.
He couldn’t hear himself, which was too bad. Thankfully he was able to handle it like a professional and they still did a terrific job.

Did they record this concert too?
They did.
Marco es único !!!

Nope he is. It’s been 17 years since they last played it so i can imagine

They sang it like this the first time, at Beste Zangers, in 2019.
May be by accident, and never changed it back again.
I'm waited this song at Birmingham UK, but no chance 🥹
I guess they only did it for the two Amsterdam shows.
Get me that sound engineer or whoever the d### done the mic job
Hank is going to be a very cool Metalpops 💪🫡😍🤣
But the Soundpeoome really fucked up this! Hanks mic is way too underpowerd! 🫡
agreed
Curto muito essa banda. Pena que tarja saiu. A vocalista é boa. Prefiro com a tarja

At least 17 years back in time. Welcome to 2022.
