Been watching Vick for years now he's one of the many restorers that inspired me to pursue sneaker restoration professionally. Thanks for all the videos 🤝
I really love my fire reds! They go with everything and I proudly wear them for over 2 years now, one of my most worn shoes and somehow I still get compliments because they are in such good condition! 🤣 They were the first and the last pair of shoes I paid resale for and are my first and last pair of 4's to this point!
These were the ones that made me get back into Jordan 4s. I couldn’t afford the originals in 89 but in 7th grade i saw an 8th grader with them and loved how they looked.
Me too. Went to foot locker after saving all my money to get the breds but they were sold out. I was damn near in tears but dude went in the back brought these out for me before they dropped. Almost got robbed a couple days later. The 80s was wild
Looking to buy your kit and some angelus paints, got some fire red 3's to bring back to life. Plus itd be great to be able to keep my main pairs looking fresh. Question tho. Hows the longevity of a repainted shoe, as the leather flexes with wearing, does it chip and flake easily? I Understand to build up layers, drying in between. Is the slightest bump gonna chip and scuff?? Just curious what kind of shelf life to expect on a reshoevn8ted shoe. Is the cost and time gonna be worth while? Or are they gonna look beat up after a few weeks of wear.
Honestly, it would completely depend on how the shoes are used. We suggest light wear for the repaired and restored shoes. However, we do not provide restoration services at the moment.
I don't know much about sneakers, nothing actually, but the method to unyellow plastic is a bath of oxygenated water in combination with uv lights for several hours. Plastics usually become white after that treatment. You might wanna consider that in your next restorations perhaps it'll work onto shoes as well (dunno the effect on colored portions tho). Perhaps try this method with cheap sneakers.
Do you recommend only washing one shoe at a time in the laundry bag? I thought that they were large enough to hold both shoes but that they should be inserted a certain way. Thanks!
I've noticed on some videos for 4s you don't remove the insole and on others you do. Is there a reason for that? I have a pair of military blue 4s that I was hesitant to take the soles out of because it felt like it was glued to the shoe. Please let me know what you think. 🙏thanks in advance
Thank you both for the responses I appreciate it. I was kind of leaning on leaving them in, so i just left them in there during cleaning. They came out great. 🤙
I have some 2000 space jams that need the sole re-glued on and the soles also need iced back to new shape if you need another project to do? Big fan, you make this look a lot easier than it is lol.

Vick, is there ever any significant reason for choosing between hand method and airbrush when you repaint midsoles? e.g. longevity, brush strokes, time etc.
I have a question, I wanna do a deep clean up of my doernbecher jordan 5 and I'm just wondering if I can use the icy method to icy the lace locks and outsole (glow in the dark) area ? Also if the iron works out to decrease the toe box ? Any advice would be any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hey, been watching your videos forever and it’s given me motivation to restore some pairs myself. But How many layers of the black and white would you put on the midsole because i do not own a airbrush so I’m unsure. Thanks 👟 🎨
The best way of have experienced with painting midsoles is to add a couple thin layers of white under the main color first. So for the black I’d add about 2 to 4 coats of white. Sand inbetween to remove any imperfections sooner rather than later and get it nice and smooth with about 1200 to 2000 grit paper. Then i would add another 2 to 4 coats over the white usually you should be good with about 6 to 8 coats or more just depends on how good it looks. Sometimes it takes More coats to get that buttery smoothness. And with an airbrush that buttery no paint brush stroke look is easier to obtain. But i have seen some get a nice finish with a paintbrush where it looks like an airbrush was used. It’s about skill and technique and time
What kind of paint is he using? Flat white? Matte white? Or just white? And does it need to be sprayed by some kind of finisher after the painting process?
I doubt I’ll get a response I’m debating on getting some metallic red 4s everything’s good but the mesh yellow ash, is it possible to dye it back to white ? To avoid painting it
I’m trying to figure out what makes you use the airbrush instead of paint brush… I watch the bred 4 vid and you used a brush for the black paint process… lmk what determines that Vick thanks
What you can do with the betting to paint or sole sauce it is to use zip ties underneath the netting so it pulls the netting away enough. Also using a tips or anybting to separate the netting from the back will help to not get anything underneath. Look it up if you need videos
With tape watch videos and practice. Yo i will learn what works best for you and each shoe has different methods of taping off. Also when i airbrush my taping off of areas is different than when i use a paint brush. I personally like the results and quickness of an airbrush but there is more prep time and the cleaning after words that blows.
Because cleaning shoes and restoring them properly is not easy and takes time and know how on how to do it right. The cleaning part will only get you so far.
Great work! I have been looking for someone to do my Air Jordan 4 White cement. They are my favorite Jordan’s, and the last time I wore them were in a fight in the rain. Please Vick, just let me know the process of getting them to you. 🙏🏾

Nice, Vic. No need for sole sauce on the netting. Just UV light, but you won’t see results for days.
Didn’t see any results with mine😅

Awesome job like always. I couldn’t believe the original condition of the shoes, they just recently came out lol.

😀 Thank you!
How do these fit sizing wise compared to our latest 2022-2023 model Air jordan 4’s??
Great job but no Angelus 4-Coat or LiquidKicks mate finisher layers for protection ?
Bravo my man! Look clean! Did you use the flat white and flat black on the upper and mid soles?
Yes
Perfect to make my reps form turkey look more real
Yo bro glad to see your doing well , been watching for years now 🤝💯

Also, do you know the approximate temp setting of the heat gun when you are drying the paint?
❤️ the Jordan 4 restorations
Thank you! Do you have a specific Jordan 4 you'd want to see next?
They look good even without the black paint, makes them look like a vintage colorway.
They do look pretty solid without it
This is one of my favorite shoe 😍😍
This video is fire 🔥. Stop playing, what’s the beat in the beginning ?
They look better with a little yellowing anyways Vick good job 👏
Thank you!
Do you recommend only washing one shoe at a time in the laundry bag? I thought that they were large enough to hold both shoes but that they should be inserted a certain way. Thanks!
You can absolutely wash both shoes.
Better than new ...n1
Mind Blown

Some shoe insoles are just really old & they don’t come out easy
To much adhesive stuck to it
Some insoles are glued into the sneaker and we leave them in. It also really just depends on how bad they need to be cleaned.
Thank you both for the responses I appreciate it. I was kind of leaning on leaving them in, so i just left them in there during cleaning. They came out great. 🤙
Who tf disrespected their 4s like that 😂

Awesome work Vick , What finisher did you use after repainting the midsole ?
Krylon finisher
Krylon finished matte and then if want to add a little shine to the black you can use a little tire shine to it.
need a pair.

Nike sb dunk pink box cleaning!!
Hey Vick, can I get the list of paints you used I am getting ready to start the restoration on my own fire red 4s
We use Angelus paints and Jacquard for the airbrush
They look good 👍
i always wonder. how do you guys dry the shoe especially they are hard to dry
In the sun or in front of a fan
If i want to paint the shoes like that would i need an air brush or could i use a normal paintbrush
Either or as i stated in another comment each have pros and cons
Can y’all do the what the 4s next
Anotha banger!!
Vick, is there ever any significant reason for choosing between hand method and airbrush when you repaint midsoles?
e.g. longevity, brush strokes, time etc.
It is really just based on time or how precise he has to be. Also, the surface area; if it is a bigger area he normally uses an airbrush
There are pros and cons to both methods look it up online. Then you can choose your own path.
Has you ever tried to restoration and custom a kobe 7

What Ypres of black paint did you use and do you need to apply a finisher to white or black paint
We use angelus paints or Jacquard for airbrushing
it's just to use a pick or something so the netting is away from the mesh to paint. i've done it before just so much better.
Dang bro that’s crazy that’s you could do that can you do beat asf Vapor maxes mine are beat asf
Do people send there shoes in if so how much would it be I need min restored
Unfortunately we do not allow restorations currently
Where can I get one of those machines from where you put the sneakers in after you applied the Angelus to get rid of the yellowing on the soles?
We have a full tutorial video on how to build it on our channel.
Please answer is it okay if the toe box is a noticeable difference shape cause one is shaped kinda like a Jordan 1 shape 😅
Are you talking about a shoe that you have?
@ yes
Hey, been watching your videos forever and it’s given me motivation to restore some pairs myself. But How many layers of the black and white would you put on the midsole because i do not own a airbrush so I’m unsure. Thanks 👟 🎨
It really is just however many you want to add, but let me double check with Vick if there is a magic number

What bag is vick using for his lighting set up?
What kind of paint is he using? Flat white? Matte white? Or just white? And does it need to be sprayed by some kind of finisher after the painting process?
Flat white and yes krylon matte finish
I doubt I’ll get a response I’m debating on getting some metallic red 4s everything’s good but the mesh yellow ash, is it possible to dye it back to white ? To avoid painting it
No dye will work on it since it’s a plastic. Either love with the yellowing or maybe some sauce it but always best results are to repaint it
I’m trying to figure out what makes you use the airbrush instead of paint brush… I watch the bred 4 vid and you used a brush for the black paint process… lmk what determines that Vick thanks
It really just depends on the shoe and the surface area. It is really just preference
Ya there is no set rule. Sometimes i paint brush it because i dont wanna set up my airbrush or clean it after. It just depends like Vic said
The best ❤
♥️
If I do use sole sauce on fire red 4s on the netting won’t it bleach the black fabric behind it ?
It could

what type of paint do u use for the shoes? typically the white and black paint, or jus any paint?
Has to be leather paint and usually angelus is the best and most widely used
Do you have to use a paint thinner mixed with the paint when using the air brush?
If yo use angelus paints you need to use 2 thin to thin it out some
Other paints are thinned already and don’t require it.
Also to repaint after fixing the leather would a paint brush work?
Yes you can use a paintbrush. There advantages and disadvantages to using a paintbrush and using an airbrush. Pick your poison
I have seen FC150 clean a shoe like this easy why do you make it seem like so much work
Because cleaning shoes and restoring them properly is not easy and takes time and know how on how to do it right. The cleaning part will only get you so far.
Y'all got a new washing machine
Yes
How can I get in touch with Vick? I have a couple pairs of shoes that need restoration.
Did u used some kind of finisher after mid sole painting ?
On some paint jobs we use a Krylon finisher, but other's we do not.
Great job man , can I ask where you get that lint shaver from? I wanna get the lint off the heel of the shoe from my socks. Thanks.
