  • This video shows you how to make DIY formula for bottle lambs. This is cheaper than the commercial powder and we have had very good results with it. Made from common supermarket ingredients.

I like that you add eggs! Because that helps their emune system!

Thank you so much for making this video. I luckily was given a big bag of powdered kid/lamb formula for my bottle lamb. But I am lambing my x6 ewes in July/August and this is great in case I need to give them some milk or if I am given an orphan lamb from my friends.
Hopefully we won’t need a heat lamp during lambing as it’s been a very mild winter here in Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺

You're very welcome. The 3 lambs in the video are all doing well and are ready to have their first lambs in a few weeks here :-)

@@harvestvillage695 that’s amazing! My bottle lamb is 9 months old and she is such a happy pet ewe. Hopefully next year she will have her own lambs along with her half sister (same ram, different mothers). I don’t want to breed them until they are at least a year old. But I am hoping my x4 other adult pet ewes are all pregnant and due in a few months. I hope to see a video of them with their new lambs. It’s so beautiful seeing them as babies and then they have lambs of their own.

Is this good for a newborn ?

Yes, but it is very important that the newborn lamb receives colostrum as soon after birth as possible. ideally this would be from its mother. If this isn't possible you can use a colostrum supplement from a farm store. This initial colostrum provides important antibodies for the lamb.
