      @@seventysevencats I took a look again and yes he did grab the handles however it was still a stupid thing to do. His fingers could still get pinched grabbing the handles and he had zero chance at stopping the sled. The people who design these courses (or atleast this course) get a 1/10 in my books. The first thing I would think to do if I were designing a bobsled track would be a huge run off area in case the breaks on the sled fail. This is called a fail-safe.

Look at how we can feel just by watching people we know represent countries help another in a human way, a natural way. Look how that camaraderie makes us feel. Eh, which part of "no brakes" makes you think they were too slow? :P

    • @ExzoSSG
      @ExzoSSG 3 роки тому +1

      @@kernfel Bobsleds have a pully steering system which is basically a left and right brake for steering around corners. With a bad start like they had with not being able to get in the sled and the inability to properly steer at a high speed around bends results in a speed decrease. Not to mention a potentially fatal crash at the end (which thankfully didn't happen). If you watched the video you would have noticed they were almost 2 seconds behind on time. You may think you just push the sled and make it to the end with no work/skill/effort needed, but, they are much like a race car with how a driver plays a big role in the fate of the race.

    What a hero that French coach is. First on scene and almost had his hand trapped. Glad he arrived when he did, a split second earlier, even though that barrier is padded, can't imagine 450kg ish on a 45 degree incline is a nice thing to be pressing on a part of your body.
