I feel what you’re saying, but “Whoa” and “Ready” are legendary songs, the soundtrack to my childhood memories. My uncle, whom I haven’t spoke to in 10 years due to our dysfunctional relationship, played “Whoa” for me back in 1999 for the first time and it shook the entire Hip Hop world. Black Rob is a legend because he takes a lot of us back to what we were doing, or what we were experiencing in life when his music was on top of the world. Yes, that makes him a legend.
Every decade has its gems. But this is part of why the 90's had its own scale. And yes-I'm here because of Black Rob's recent openness. It gave me a reminder too. Generals Black Rob(and Joe Hooker too really)did something-for the better-to and for the industry.
This album a Hip Hop Classic, I bought it 4 times since it dropped in 2000. I was 29 when I first copped it and I just copped again in 2019 @ 49 years old. [posted January 30, 2020]
