  • Hayabusa Shinkansen runs between Tokyo and Shin Aomori. Super Komachi Shinkansen runs between Tokyo and Shin Akita. During these trips between Tokyo and Morioka, they share the same track. So, most of the time these two Shinkansens are connected together for the runs between Tokyo and Morioka. Trains originating at Tokyo are disconnected at Morioka and Super Komachi goes to Akita, where as Hayabusa goes straight to Aomori. Same is true for trains originating at Akita or Aomori, they get connected at Morioka for their combined run to Tokyo.
    This video is taken at JR Morioka station of Super Komachi and Hayabusa Shinkansens being connected. enjoy!!!

      @@mtaenthusiast1345 Komachi(小町)'s name is taken from Ono no Komachi(小野小町), a famous waka poets from Akita in the 9th century. It is said that she was renowned for her unusual beauty, so komachi also means "beauty" in Japanese today.

    really amazing. I took the hayabusa going to aomori when I last visited Japan. It was an awesome experience, though plenty of tunnels. I've also seen a different model of trains connecting. I think it was the NEX. it happened right in front of me and I wasn't ready lol

    @urshurakdieohnekanal9291 2 роки тому +1

    That small connection pulls a whole train, that's awesome!!! I just watched a video, where those two bullet trains were connected and wanted to see, how the connection happens and if the port on the Hayabusa closed vertically or horizontally. That that cover keeps shut while going 320km/h is unbelievable! Thank you very much for this video!!!

    Went on these recently, both between Tokyo and Aomori and Aomori and Kakunodate. The Komachi's actually not very fast on its own but still looks more badass than most other trains, ever. The E5/E6 are just ridiculous. I kept zooming out on my phone map and could still see my position visibly moving. Can't wait for the L0, that is going to be insane.

    • @andreapassante5653
      @andreapassante5653 Рік тому +1

      E6 has the potential to be just as fast as E5, but it's limited by the top speed of the track when it's travelling between Morioka and Akita because it's not travelling on shinkansen tracks, but on normal railway tracks that have been adapted to be dual gauge.

    It's a coupling procedure, approaching train performs a safety stop, then approaches at walking speed, until coupler heads connect. A tug test is performed, then the electrical heads are coupled. Then the doors open, and it's one long train.

      USA will never have a HSR, we don't need it.. we are too spread out, and none of our cities are densely packed enough. the only reason a HSR would even be attempted to be built, would be mainly the US government themselves paying a company to build it, for a "dick rate" contest.
      WHERE the USA shines, is truckers, and personal vehicles...

      If you're moving around 50,000 people a day. it still takes the same amount of energy to do it. just because you move the energy doesn't mean you've added or subtracted the required energy.
