i had a prepaid one with small amount of money before going there (just for the transition on arrival) and it is easy to get one in the city centre- just get into any telecom store feel free to dm me on my instagram if u have questions ~ :)
@@mattdolce i am not 100% sure but i did meet people from Belgium travelling in russia when i was in St Petersburg. also heard my frd’s frd who has been living in moscow for years, and now she moved to Canada and i am currently travelling in the balkans, no problem so far :)
You're extremely smart to travel to Moscow in those ripped jeans. Also smart to expect to have easy access to a SIM card and reliable VPN in Russia nowadays. At least you were lucky to have a Russian friend expecting you on arrival, it made it less tough for you.
yes smart enough to solve all the problem on my own eventually :) didn't expect to have any easy access to anything in ru right now ;) that was why I had subscribed a vpn and tried to activate it BEFORE landing to ru :D also prepared a prepaid sim in advanced just to order a taxi to get out from the airport :) just to indicate that u can't get a sim in the airport. actually it's very easy to get a sim in the city ;) I was wearing my favourite ripped jeans on May, the springtime. noone would expect there was snow on May which was very unusual. what’s wrong with that? :) life is full of adventures and uncertainties :) just enjoy and take it easy :)

Americans have no problems in Russia either, until they start participating in political actions or engaging in military espionage. But that's exotic. The attitude of the Russian population towards Americans in Russia is generally friendly, perhaps because most Americans in Russia are pro-Russian. There are thousands of Americans and people from the West in Russia now.
