The paving in Griffiersveld in Apeldoorn's De Maten district was in need of renewal. In this street renovation, we worked in a circular way as much as possible: as much material as possible was reused and CO2 was saved by reducing transport. In this video, the CityLoops demonstration manager, the contractor and our knowledge partner from Saxion University explain how we achieved this.
As a partner in the EU grant project CityLoops (Horizon2020), the Municipality of Apeldoorn shares knowledge with six other European cities in the field of circularity.
By working on several projects on biological waste and construction and demolition waste, we share knowledge on sustainable material reuse. This way, no more reusable raw materials are lost. In turn, we share this knowledge with other cities, so that we in Europe become increasingly circular.
