I’ve been decluttering my home for a few years now and honestly, the less you have, the happier you are. I never thought that was logical because I grew up in a 2500 sq ft house packed with stuff (not hoarder, but on the verge) and it was nice having everything. Having my own home, I carried the same habit and it’s finally kicking in that having less is better. Less to manage, less to clean, less to worry about and HUGE savings. Laundry is done more frequently, so we don’t need as many clothes, less knickknacks to dust, less everything. Once you start really decluttering your home, you stop feeling so stressed out and cleaning up is easier A thought I use to help me declutter is “if I moved, would I want to spend the time, money and energy moving this item?” If the answer is no, out it goes. It’s a nicer take on the Swedish Death Cleaning method and it’s been a game changer! Also, rule of one in, one out. Prevents the “stuff” from piling back up Keep going! Decluttering is hard, but I think it will help with your mental health ❤
I couldn’t agree with you more!! 🙌 Thank-you for sharing your decluttering tips! I love the nicer take you have on the Swedish death cleaning method!! Such a good way to cut down on things earlier in life! I appreciate you being here and watching 💕💕💕
Linen cupboards can get out of hand so easily. Great to watch you put yours in order! Personally, I prefer canvas bins/baskets for organizing because visual clutter is very stressful/anxiety-inducing for me, but for others in my family clear bins are best because for them out of sight really is out of mind. Best to go with whatever works most for you and yours.
I really like that your home and life look normal. They look like Real Life and not like some videos which look staged. Some peoples channels look fake like sound stages. Yours is a beautiful normal REAL life!! Thanks for the Vids and motivation 😊🙏🍀🍀
Hey hey. Good to see you’re back. I’m a boy mum. 4 boys now. 9,7,6 and a newborn. Together with my husband for 13 years and married for 3. 😊 I have a tip for you, when you do your washing, before you hang it out, all the clothes you hang up (tops, dresses ect), put them on coat hangers, take them out to the line and hang them then peg the hanger to line. Space them a little to allow air flow, BUT once they are dried you take them off and put them straight in the wardrobes. It’s what I do. I suffer from anxiety myself and OCD. I know them feels. Also with all the socks, get wash bags for everyone and place all their socks into their own wash bags this way they don’t get caught up in other clothing, they don’t get eaten by the washing machine sock monster, and they always stay in pairs. 🤷♀️
Hey!! So happy to see your comment here! 😃 I appreciate you sticking around all this time and still coming back to watch my new videos! 🥰 I LOVE those tips so much!! Thankyou so much for sharing! Hope you are having a great week 💕💕💕
@@KatrinaMarieCleaning you’re most welcome 🤗 Of course. I enjoy watching your videos. Can’t wait go watch more. I’m glad you liked the tips. I knew I had to do something cause I too lived outta baskets. I got sick of it. So changed it. Now the older 3 are in school it’s not so much washing so im able to do it this way and it’s not so over whelming neither. Had a great week. Hope your week has gone just as well. 😊❣️❣️❣️
So lovely to hear a different accent 😁 I prefer clear containers and squared sided (you can get more in, it’s tidier and there’s less wasted space as they stack closer together). The side facing the door, I slip a piece of decorative paper in (wallpaper/wrapping paper etc) which obscures contents, however, I can pull the container forward and see what’s in the box
Thankyou! I think I agree with you about the square shaped containers! The bottoms of these just didn’t fit as much as I had hoped 🙈 Thankyou for sharing your opinion with me! I appreciate you being here and watching 🫶💕💕💕
Hi Katrina. I've been enjoying watching your videos. I'll also listen to it while I do other things. The music and motivation that you give helps me motivation to keep keep going.
I’m new to your channel. I have commented before. But I love your content, I would rather watch dirty spaces turned to clean than clean to clean. The decluttering process will be sooooo wonderful for your anxiety. 🎉
It's just living . Life . Kids , family. They've all grown now , even the second crop ( grandbabies ). It was always a struggle but we made it through. Even now , life has a way of keeping us at it every day. You're doing great. Don't be so hard on yourself. Even if it's just a bit at a time you power on through it and that's amazing. Anyway, thats my 2 cents worth 😊. Hello from the Colorado Rocky mountains. I'm pleased to know I'm not the only one .
Recent subscriber. ❤ your decluttering series. Decluttering videos are an absolute motivator for me. I like containers that aren't too tapered. That way it is less wasted space & I can store a bit more stuff. As far as clear or opaque containers, it depends on what I'm storing & where. For opaque, labels are a must as out of sight would out of mind for me 😊.
So great to see you back. Life is really hard and gets crazy sometimes. I understand about anxiety as i feel the same. Great job! Your doing amazing! One step at a time 👏
It does make u wonder WHY we do that?!? Seeing our own pile of mess make u think, Where does one start? It’s truly about picking a spot and stay there until that area is cleared up. Thank you ❤
Loved the cleaning motivation and welcome back!! I have anxiety too, so I can relate. I prefer basket / solid color storage best!! Have a beautiful day ❤
Hi 😊 Im a new viewer from Denmark. I just the 3 videos with the 30 day declutter challenge. I love that you are doing Konami and Swedish deathcleaning. You say at one point that you have too much stuff still, and I can’t stop thinking about Dana k whites clutter threshold and her container concept. If you follow her 5 declutter step, you would be around (get rid of trash, duh things and easy donations)and I think that she could help you do a deeper dive into your things with the last decluttering steps. And there by reaching what your space can easily container and easy manage / your clutter threshold ❤ And for organization I love Clutterbug ❤
What a lovely surprise, welcome back. I couldn't believe when I read the notification, it's so lovely seeing you. What a wonderful birthday gift for me to receive, thank you, you've made my day. I'm so happy that you're feeling better, just don't overdo things, and rush to do to much before you are ready. I love your new storage baskets, they look stunning. I prefer the coloured ones, it keeps everything tidy and keeps things out of sight. You did fantastically well clearing all the washing, I'm proud of you, well done. Take care of yourself, I look forward to seeing you next time you feel up to posting. Sending love and hugs, have a wonderful weekend 💞
😭😭😭 I appreciate you so much!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I hope it was a great day!!! 🥳🧁🎉 I love your comments, you always make me feel so loved, Thankyou for being you 💕💕💕
The container question Clutterbug would answer with another question: If you look at a area that really works for you, do you have your stuff hidden or in plain sight? She also has a free organization style test on her website.
That’s very retro carpet and shelf paper in your linen closet. It’s kinda cool. I remember a similar green shelf paper in my closet growing up. I think I finally removed the last pieces ten years ago. 😂
Aww yayyyy, so happy to see you again Kat 💛💛 I prefer the baskets you have picked for the linen press, I like the idea of clear containers for bathroom cupboards and pantry xx
Hey Becky!! 👋🏼 Welcome! Im so glad you stopped to say hi! I’m so sorry things are hard at the moment for you 🫂 sending so much love and strength to you while you get through this difficult time!! 💕💕💕

I’m a stay at home caregiver of 2 and am quite often too tired during the day while they’re gone but try to get the essential stuff done
Oh I hear ya! It’s exhausting to even get the bare minimum done most days 🫠
