Now that you have used the calf shelter for a while, does the wind just curl down over the top or does the shelter provide wind break for some distance on the leeward side?
Hmmm as a guy that builds stuff for cattle I'm thinking it could dump the snow right in front and possibly inside...I never tryed making one like that...so I'm curious
@@AlbertaRanch Thank you for answering my question. I was just curious because here in the South of Alberta, we do not reach that temperature, even when we get a cold snap.
I got the same problem, except moose instead of elk, and they got after my oat greenfeed bales, look the same, on the faces. Please update on the shelters, lve always been interested in those type combo units
good job
Thanks
It's always gonna go smoothly when your cows are questioning you.
They probably think I'm insane.
I was fixing to ask if a fence works.
I don't have a deer hay issue but damn. Idk what I would do if I was in your snow shoes.
Surrounding the good hay with straw or bad hay bales does keep them out.
Cool
Sunny beautiful day but cold. Great to see how ranch life goes. Stay safe my friend. 👍👍
Will do
The shelters look like the perfect place to mount some solar panels. Maybe you could turn some lights on for the cows as well. 😎
Actually they have requested cable TV....... including HBO.
@@AlbertaRanch Set them up with UA-cam so they can watch hay videos.
@@lifebehindacow5999 let's not give them any more ideas :)
Cows would probably destroy the solar panels. They love to push and lick on everything.
Least you can be proud of the hay you put up. Them dinks won't eat junk hay
They do demand the best. :)

interested in see how your calf/ wind break works . they look good
Thanks, we will find out soon I'm sure.
How did these hold up in the wind?
So far so good, I compare them with the permanent windbreak here. ua-cam.com/video/82OQsG0B_Uo/v-deo.html
