OMG! You found him, the organist that balanced the Universe. Well done! Not many do. He had a really scummy agent who cancelled his Montreux Jazz festival appearance, just as he was poised to break through (that was earlier than these records, when he only played with a drummer 'Hanson & Karlson'). The money and opportunity never got available again.
Amazing! Check out his band Hansson & Karlsson as well, really good stuff. Jimi Hendrix covered their song "Tax Free". These days Swedish bands like Sagor & Swing and Trummor & Orgel carry on the Hansson organ legacy.
Oh my, Bo Hansson brings back memories from fifty years ago. Music inspired by Lord of the rings (1972).As a big Tolkien nerd, I of course bought this album and played it many times. Watership down (1977). It was a bargain and it’s not a bad album. Don’t know this album but I’m sure it will be ok.
I have both of his albums from mid 70’s and bought them based on the album covers. Did that quite a bit back then. Have never listed to them all the way through. Interesting stuff. By the time I bought these, I was listening to Gentle Giant, Yes, Genesis and Bo was not up to these standards. Still was a part of the evolution of prog.
I too have this album on Charisma so it must have sold a few copies. Like yours it is rarely played and I can see why - it's fairly easy listening prog/psych without the spark to really set it alight - almost like a slightly substandard Greenslade. Once again, the saxophone didn't help at all. Hansson went onto some more rabbit bothering on a full Watership Down album. I'll tune in for part 2 which'll save me warming up my own turntable.
If you would have said to me "I react to Bo Hansson today", I would have answered "my older brother had 2 of his first 3 albums - Lord of the rings and Thoughts in the attic" 🤔 Now I see it's Attic Thougts so I guess my memory played a trick on me ... do you remember Toys in the attic by ????🤣 Now I'll listen : ok, the impression is the same as 40 years ago, nice to listen to, but no need to buy 😆
Please listen to Kyrie Eleison - The Fountain Beyond the Sunrise. It is an extremely obscure prog band from Austria. The album was released in 1976. Please go in blind. Love the vids.
Oh yeah!!!!!❤
I love Bo Hansson! He also played in a band called Fläsket Brinner on their second album Fläsket, amazing album!
Hey Jim! Surgery went very well. Thank you for your kind concern and prayers!!👍🙏😎
I’m so glad to hear that Jeff. I hope you have an uneventful speedy road to recovery. 👍🏼🕶️
@@JimNewstead Thank you my friend!👍😎
This reminds me of the quieter passages of Focus. For me, a little goes a long way.

Have you heard Haikara? An amazing finnish prog band!
Well, this is definitely something that happened. 😂
lol!!

Luckily, there’s something far more interesting to listen to today!
I'm smoking a *funny cigarette* while listening.

Spent far too many hours in my youth listening to " Music Inspired by Lord of the Rings " !
Are you into Turkmen prog like Gunesh Ensemble and Firyuza?
