She knew she was pregnant. She lied and said she never had sex too. They found out that the baby was born alive. She is also not in jail. She is out free with no travel restrictions and no ankle monitor. She’s even allowed to go to school and graduate until a trial date is set. This just boils my blood.
I heard that them doing cpr had the baby never taken it's first breath would have put air in the baby's lungs. That is going to be the defense argument but I don't think it's going to work because she valued her life over the baby and took time to wrap this baby up and get rid of it Instead of saving it. I don't think your name is what I see above but if you're still praying for a child I will add my prayers with yours. Just know it's not for everyone especially selfish people. But I will ask for you. I have 3 daughters and I literally do everything for them. I don't even enjoy my hobbies because they really didn't help them so now I work sleep eat and have new hobbies literally for them. I am happy that I have them. Our culture is not built around this mindset.
As a woman and a mother, I just can't with this. I was blessed with 2 healthy pregnancies and healthy babies (now adults) I'm thankful every single day of my life to have these 2 amazing people in my world. I know so many young women trying to get pregnant and suffering miscarriages. It literally breaks my heart to see such disregard for a human life, especially when she's already in the hospital! I agree. Honestly I think another action should be taken depending on her mental health situation but I won't say it, you can figure out what I think with minimal thought surely. In Indiana we have “safe baby boxes” where a mother can surrender her baby at multiple locations, anonymous, and will be placed with a family. You can also surrender the baby in person to any first responder or the hospital and they will take the baby no questions and no consequences, they just want to save the child. However they will offer services to the mother if she wants them. This is absolutely gut wrenching. I’m unable to carry a child full term and would have HAPPILY raised this child. She has options and this just breaks me.

As a parent, and a former teen mom, who also mentored and taught parenting classes to teen mothers, I can't imagine. She was in the hospital. No excuse. That would be the easiest adoption process ever, where she could forfeit the child immediately to hospital staff.
Absolutely. As a society, we don't talk about this enough. Maybe it's partly because the democrat party and Planned Parenthood have so much clout, but we REALLY should give a lot more exposure to crisis pregnancy centers and adoption agencies. What happens if you carry that baby to term and are prepared to hand it over afterward, and how that looks. And there should be more crisis pregnancy centers or at least some sort of counseling agencies to let people know about the options. Instead, this is something that is almost never discussed. We have "Pro Life" and "Pro Choice" as constant narratives. But very little is said about what the options are for women who are pregnant and don't know what to do about it but are freaked out and don't want an abortion. We aren't very good at examining and dealing with the before and the after.
Dude she is clearly mentally instable, which also can be caused by the severe hormonal chaos caused by her pregnancy and the massive stress of the birth. They help women keeping their babies build their lives, as well as those choosing adoption, get through the process and start their own lives post-adoption. Democrats have an issue with it because abortion help isn't included. It has helped so many women over the past 30 years though so a wonderful option for help.

Safe Haven laws are in effect in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. She could've handed over the baby and walked away. No questions asked. She threw the baby in the trash bag, removed it from the recepticle, and sealed the bag. Then she put a new bag in the container. The janitor picked up the bag, and felt the weight was too heavy. I know 3 women that tried for years to have a baby, and couldn't. They were on a waiting list for adoption until they gave up. That makes this even more upsetting to see.
There is no shortage of loving people who want nothing more than to have a baby and start a family, but are unable to. She could have given the baby up to a good family who would love him or her and give them a wonderful life.

When I was 16 in high school at Port Shepstone High in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa, they also found a newborn baby stuffed into the dustbin in the girl’s bathroom. Luckily someone heard it, and it was taken to the hospital on the same road. Luckily she survived. It was all over the local newspapers and I can’t remember what happened to the mother, she was a student…they kept her identity really hush hush. That was back in 1994.

After my wife and I came home from the hospital, after a day and a half with my son next to her on a special cart, she didn't leave his side for about a week, then one night she put him down in his crib and came out to the living room and sat next to me, I asked how she was and she seemed like she was in a great mood. Less than 5 minutes later I saw tears running down her face but she didn't look sad, I asked why she was crying, and she looked at me and matched her face to her crying and said "I miss him"... if you removed the wall, he was less than 10 feet away. It blew my mind, cuz it was super sad, kinda funny, and produced a feeling of ultimate loving amazement and awful dread at the same time... like watching a kid play with a puppy and thinking about how that kid is going to feel 13 or so years later when it dies. It was knowing that we love him with all our hearts, but also considering how much could go wrong and how that love will kill me if it does. I can't even imagine the place someone would have to be to throw their newborn baby in the trash and then try to act like nothing happened afterwords...
That's where my mind went. It immediately made me very concerned for this girl's home life. If you're so scared that your frontal cortex basically stops working, that's NOT a good sign. Anyone who experiences that level of fear around a parent does not have a healthy home environment. I pray this is not what happened and that this girl has some sort of mental health issue.
All 50 states, D.C. & PR have Safe-Haven laws that allow "unwanted" babies to be dropped off at police or fire stations w/o repercussions to help girls in those situations.
There's an entire TV program on TLC called I didn't know I was pregnant!! It's very interesting to watch!! This never should have happened there's so many other ways she could've handled this... adoption, anyplace that's marked as a safe haven place!! She was already in the hospital and if the baby wasn't breathing when born the hospital staff would be able to handle that.
I actually was roommates with a guy that ended up on that show. (Apparently, he hooked up with a heavy chick after he moved out and she just thought that she was constipated and having stomach issues and ended up having the baby on the toilet.) It's kind of weird and surreal for me to actually know someone that was on such a strange show.
This happened to one of my best friends and his wife back when we were in our 20’s. His wife was pregnant but didn’t know it. There was no baby bump or anything on her and she was a slim girl. Well she goes to take a shower one morning and ends up having a baby in the shower. They had to call an ambulance and the baby and her were both okay. But yes it can happen where a woman gets pregnant for a full 9 months and doesn’t know she is pregnant. Can be because of so much stress in her life or others things but it does happen. Of course this was different than what happened in the video but the part about not knowing your pregnant can definitely happen. I saw it first hand. Nobody knew my friends wife was pregnant because she was slender with no big belly. Was pretty crazy.

I just gave birth to my baby 2 weeks ago. She’s the most precious thing in the world, laying in her bassinet right next to me as I write this comment. It was very hard to watch this as someone who is pregnant currently. I cried. But I can tell you for a fact she did it out of fear, it has nothing to do with postpartum depression or anxiety. It doesn't hit you that fast. In fact it's so soon after birth she is still riding the hormones that build that maternal bond between mom and baby. She understands nothing of the sanctity of life, and felt nothing except the need to get rid of a problem. I feel for her mother, because I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it too.

There was another viral case where a teen girl put her newborn in a dumpster and some homeless people (some with warrants out for their arrest) went dumpster diving and found the baby still alive. They called the police and the police didn’t arrest the people with warrants and thanked them for calling.

At 16 I was forced to have an abortion by my mom. My bf lived with us and he had just turned 20. My mom didn't care, she just saw someone else who could pay her bills...I had been working since I was 14 so I could pay my part of bills. She told me that if I didn't have an abortion that she would have him locked up for statutory rape and that she would kick me out. I had nowhere to go and felt like I had no other option. She told me I was a whore and I wasn't going to be the cause of people talking about her. I bring that up just to prove you do have some parents who are cruel. I am 42 now and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about what I did and hate myself for what I did. So I do understand kids being scared of what their parents will do but it is so much easier today to get help than it was years ago. The fact that she is 19 (legally an adult) & at a hospital, she could have gotten help and not killed her baby. Not much her parents could have done at that point aside from kicking her out, but they even have places for teen moms to go now if they need. This is just sad and absolutely heartbreaking.😢

i had my daughter when i was 16. i went through my jr yr of hs pregnant [her dad bailed when i was 6 months along], had her in the summer, then 4 weeks later went to finish my senior yr early [grad in january]. i worked my way through school to give my child a better life. my parents though understandably upset, supported both of us. this girl could have had her mother's support and had this baby. instead of facing up to her behavior, this baby died. i believe he was right when he said electric chair. there is NO reason for this to have happened. these are the actions of a coward that deserves so much worse than she will get... just gross...

This same thing happened years ago. It was on all the news channels. I think the girl was at Prom. Somehow she managed to hide her pregnancy the whole time. She gave birth in the bathroom of the high school. Somehow no body knew what was happening in there. She also put the baby in the trash can. Then went out to the prom. Her boyfriend asked what took you so long in there ? Unfortunately the video today is not the first. How they did what they did I’ll never know. Very sad.
Someone found a newborn in Dodges bathroom years ago. The mother had her and just left her. 😢 Thank God a lady found her and she was alive. There were people lined up offering her a home. The best one was a woman came to the hospital and said she was the mother and she wanted her baby back...she was 72yrs old 😊. And then last week someone dumped a fetus in our sewer. They are trying to find the mother now. We really need laws to protect children.
This same thing happened in the 80s at Miami airport. I’m friends with an elderly woman who worked as airport security. She said this young woman (maybe 20) got pregnant by her brother and gave birth to a full term baby in the bathroom and shoved tissues down its mouth and threw it in the trash. The cleaners discovered it shortly after when the trash bag was unusually heavy and the bathroom was COVERED in blood. She was caught and was linked to another instance of that happening. They were a wealthy family and she fully believed what she had done was humane and the best option. It was disgusting i was crying when she told me the story. She said all the staff were resisting the urge to attack the woman while waiting for the police to arrive.
I saw this video a few days ago and i felt mad asf mainly bc of that psycho b**** for killing a newborn but also for that braindead nurse who tried to defend her from the accusations and put herself in the way of a police investigation knowing the terrible thing that "person" just did. Life sentence for both.

My sister is married now for more than 6 years and didn't have a baby despite all the tries with the doctors. It's hard for me to see such an ungrateful person like this girl just throwing her baby in the trash like it's nothing....She needs to be in jail!!!

On my local news in like 2018 this woman went to a party with her baby and when she got home set her baby on a trash can and went inside, passed out with the door to their house wide open and baby outside in the rain. A neighbor heard the crying and called the cops thankfully and got the baby out of the rain... but some people really do be heartless with their babies

No excuses for this. She deserves prison. Some women don’t know they are pregnant for months, some up until birth. One of my bfs didn’t know until she was 30 weeks. She only found out because she went to the dr. She only got a period every 6 months and was on the pill. A second friend of mine, was 4 months before she knew and her husband had had a vasectomy. Both of these women had already given birth to children. One previously had had twins. You don’t always know. You don’t get a letter in the mail.
I am a full time RN & single mom..while this young woman should face consequences, let's consider some factors that may have contributed to this tragedy... 1. Many women, especially teens, can have irregular & sporadic periods..especially athletes..and not realize the pregnancy for a long time 2. Shame on the hospital staff...they knew her pregnancy test was positive while she continued to deny it..thats a psyche issue...she should NEVER have been left alone 3. The combination of rapidly fluctuating hormones, neurotransmitters, and panic can result in behaviors a person would ordinarily not do 4. We don't know what her home life is like..abusive? Threatening? 5. She needs to be placed on suicide watch..at end of video, she was left alone with all kinds of wiring..shame on hospital staff again 6. How can you not know that you're pregnant?! Also, it takes an extreme lack of empathy to throw another being (alive or dead) away in a bin. In Indiana we have “safe baby boxes” where a mother can surrender her baby at multiple locations, anonymous, and will be placed with a family. You can also surrender the baby in person to any first responder or the hospital and they will take the baby no questions and no consequences, they just want to save the child. However they will offer services to the mother if she wants them. This is absolutely gut wrenching. I’m unable to carry a child full term and would have HAPPILY raised this child. She has options and this just breaks me.

Absolutely. As a society, we don't talk about this enough. Maybe it's partly because the democrat party and Planned Parenthood have so much clout, but we REALLY should give a lot more exposure to crisis pregnancy centers and adoption agencies. What happens if you carry that baby to term and are prepared to hand it over afterward, and how that looks. And there should be more crisis pregnancy centers or at least some sort of counseling agencies to let people know about the options. Instead, this is something that is almost never discussed. We have "Pro Life" and "Pro Choice" as constant narratives. But very little is said about what the options are for women who are pregnant and don't know what to do about it but are freaked out and don't want an abortion. We aren't very good at examining and dealing with the before and the after.

They help women keeping their babies build their lives, as well as those choosing adoption, get through the process and start their own lives post-adoption. Democrats have an issue with it because abortion help isn't included. It has helped so many women over the past 30 years though so a wonderful option for help.

I know 3 women that tried for years to have a baby, and couldn't. They were on a waiting list for adoption until they gave up. That makes this even more upsetting to see.

When I was 16 in high school at Port Shepstone High in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa, they also found a newborn baby stuffed into the dustbin in the girl’s bathroom. Luckily someone heard it, and it was taken to the hospital on the same road. Luckily she survived. It was all over the local newspapers and I can’t remember what happened to the mother, she was a student…they kept her identity really hush hush. That was back in 1994.

After my wife and I came home from the hospital, after a day and a half with my son next to her on a special cart, she didn't leave his side for about a week, then one night she put him down in his crib and came out to the living room and sat next to me, I asked how she was and she seemed like she was in a great mood. Less than 5 minutes later I saw tears running down her face but she didn't look sad, I asked why she was crying, and she looked at me and matched her face to her crying and said "I miss him"... if you removed the wall, he was less than 10 feet away. It blew my mind, cuz it was super sad, kinda funny, and produced a feeling of ultimate loving amazement and awful dread at the same time... like watching a kid play with a puppy and thinking about how that kid is going to feel 13 or so years later when it dies. It was knowing that we love him with all our hearts, but also considering how much could go wrong and how that love will kill me if it does. I can't even imagine the place someone would have to be to throw their newborn baby in the trash and then try to act like nothing happened afterwords...
There can be no love without the threat of loss. It is the price all parents pay.
That's where my mind went. It immediately made me very concerned for this girl's home life. If you're so scared that your frontal cortex basically stops working, that's NOT a good sign. Anyone who experiences that level of fear around a parent does not have a healthy home environment. I pray this is not what happened and that this girl has some sort of mental health issue.
All 50 states, D.C. & PR have Safe-Haven laws that allow "unwanted" babies to be dropped off at police or fire stations w/o repercussions to help girls in those situations.

There's an entire TV program on TLC called I didn't know I was pregnant!! It's very interesting to watch!! This never should have happened there's so many other ways she could've handled this... adoption, anyplace that's marked as a safe haven place!! She was already in the hospital and if the baby wasn't breathing when born the hospital staff would be able to handle that.
I actually was roommates with a guy that ended up on that show. (Apparently, he hooked up with a heavy chick after he moved out and she just thought that she was constipated and having stomach issues and ended up having the baby on the toilet.) It's kind of weird and surreal for me to actually know someone that was on such a strange show.

This happened to one of my best friends and his wife back when we were in our 20’s. His wife was pregnant but didn’t know it. There was no baby bump or anything on her and she was a slim girl. Well she goes to take a shower one morning and ends up having a baby in the shower. They had to call an ambulance and the baby and her were both okay. But yes it can happen where a woman gets pregnant for a full 9 months and doesn’t know she is pregnant. Can be because of so much stress in her life or others things but it does happen. Of course this was different than what happened in the video but the part about not knowing your pregnant can definitely happen. I saw it first hand. Nobody knew my friends wife was pregnant because she was slender with no big belly. Was pretty crazy.

It was very hard to watch this as someone who is pregnant currently. I cried. But I can tell you for a fact she did it out of fear, it has nothing to do with postpartum depression or anxiety. It doesn't hit you that fast. In fact it's so soon after birth she is still riding the hormones that build that maternal bond between mom and baby. She understands nothing of the sanctity of life, and felt nothing except the need to get rid of a problem.
I feel for her mother, because I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it too.

There was another viral case where a teen girl put her newborn in a dumpster and some homeless people (some with warrants out for their arrest) went dumpster diving and found the baby still alive. They called the police and the police didn’t arrest the people with warrants and thanked them for calling.

At 16 I was forced to have an abortion by my mom. My bf lived with us and he had just turned 20. My mom didn't care, she just saw someone else who could pay her bills...I had been working since I was 14 so I could pay my part of bills. She told me that if I didn't have an abortion that she would have him locked up for statutory rape and that she would kick me out. I had nowhere to go and felt like I had no other option. She told me I was a whore and I wasn't going to be the cause of people talking about her. I bring that up just to prove you do have some parents who are cruel. I am 42 now and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about what I did and hate myself for what I did. So I do understand kids being scared of what their parents will do but it is so much easier today to get help than it was years ago. The fact that she is 19 (legally an adult) & at a hospital, she could have gotten help and not killed her baby. Not much her parents could have done at that point aside from kicking her out, but they even have places for teen moms to go now if they need. This is just sad and absolutely heartbreaking.😢

i had my daughter when i was 16. i went through my jr yr of hs pregnant [her dad bailed when i was 6 months along], had her in the summer, then 4 weeks later went to finish my senior yr early [grad in january]. i worked my way through school to give my child a better life. my parents though understandably upset, supported both of us. this girl could have had her mother's support and had this baby. instead of facing up to her behavior, this baby died. i believe he was right when he said electric chair. there is NO reason for this to have happened. these are the actions of a coward that deserves so much worse than she will get... just gross...

This same thing happened years ago. It was on all the news channels. I think the girl was at Prom. Somehow she managed to hide her pregnancy the whole time. She gave birth in the bathroom of the high school. Somehow no body knew what was happening in there. She also put the baby in the trash can. Then went out to the prom. Her boyfriend asked what took you so long in there ? Unfortunately the video today is not the first. How they did what they did I’ll never know. Very sad.

Someone found a newborn in Dodges bathroom years ago. The mother had her and just left her. 😢 Thank God a lady found her and she was alive. There were people lined up offering her a home. The best one was a woman came to the hospital and said she was the mother and she wanted her baby back...she was 72yrs old 😊.

This same thing happened in the 80s at Miami airport. I’m friends with an elderly woman who worked as airport security. She said this young woman (maybe 20) got pregnant by her brother and gave birth to a full term baby in the bathroom and shoved tissues down its mouth and threw it in the trash. The cleaners discovered it shortly after when the trash bag was unusually heavy and the bathroom was COVERED in blood. She was caught and was linked to another instance of that happening. They were a wealthy family and she fully believed what she had done was humane and the best option. It was disgusting i was crying when she told me the story. She said all the staff were resisting the urge to attack the woman while waiting for the police to arrive.

Literally most hospitals and fire stations have a baby Moses law. Maybe police too. Unneeded and cruel.
I hate seeing stories like this. I stopped reading newspapers and watching the news, because of how many little innocent souls were being harmed. It's heartbreaking.

Being ‘scared’ is no excuse to kill a newborn, especially if you’re in a hospital. Imagine the increase in the murder rate if people justified killing other people of any age because they were scared of accepting the reasonable consequences of their own actions.This is a tragic and heartless act.

When they teach young people that unborn babies are just a "clump of cells," and therefore not yet human, it makes it that much easier to just dump em in the trash. Metaphorically and literally...
Society has taught some young women that a baby is less valuable than not getting in trouble with your parents.
In this case they have determined that the baby was born alive. She is facing serious charges as she be.

I had a friend that didn’t know she was pregnant until almost 8 months… sounds weird, but it does have it. Thankfully my friend kept her baby. 🙏🏽

She needs to be PUNISHED by the full extent of the law. The girl is already saying the baby wasn’t crying. I hope they autopsy will indeed find out if the baby was alive. This is really inhumane to do that to your OWN flesh and blood. I wonder if the hospital staff could have forced their way into the bathroom? I don’t feel sorry for her one damn bit she is nineteen years old an adult and needs to be punished. It makes me sad to think of she would have given the baby up she could have a couple so happy. It was a selfish and cruel decision and now must face the consequences of her actions.

As a woman who is incapable of having children I have to wonder why why if there is any God he would give a baby to someone like that and not someone who can provide everything.. On my local news in like 2018 this woman went to a party with her baby and when she got home set her baby on a trash can and went inside, passed out with the door to their house wide open and baby outside in the rain. A neighbor heard the crying and called the cops thankfully and got the baby out of the rain... but some people really do be heartless with their babies

If everyone was not 100% sure that this person, this thing is not a complete monster. When first confronted with the full-term dead baby she threw in a trashcan in a hospital and then tried to cover it up, was “NOTHING was crying”

I want to know what her home life was like for her to think throwing the baby in the trash was a better option than being honest with her parents. This is why you should always be open with your children and let them know that you’ll love them even when they make mistakes.
This just happened in Cleveland. A 16 year old threw twins in the trash. Mom didn’t know. She just got charged today.

Some women don’t know they are pregnant for months, some up until birth. One of my bfs didn’t know until she was 30 weeks. She only found out because she went to the dr. She only got a period every 6 months and was on the pill. A second friend of mine, was 4 months before she knew and her husband had had a vasectomy. Both of these women had already given birth to children. One previously had had twins. You don’t always know. You don’t get a letter in the mail.

I am a full time RN & single mom..while this young woman should face consequences, let's consider some factors that may have contributed to this tragedy...
1. Many women, especially teens, can have irregular & sporadic periods..especially athletes..and not realize the pregnancy for a long time
2. Shame on the hospital staff...they knew her pregnancy test was positive while she continued to deny it..thats a psyche issue...she should NEVER have been left alone
3. The combination of rapidly fluctuating hormones, neurotransmitters, and panic can result in behaviors a person would ordinarily not do
4. We don't know what her home life is like..abusive? Threatening?
5. She needs to be placed on suicide watch..at end of video, she was left alone with all kinds of wiring..shame on hospital staff again
6. Babies don't cry right away when born..the mucous plugs must be suctioned immediately so the baby doesn't inhale them in and suffocate/choke...but most teen moms don't know this..they think baby is dead if it's not crying

How can you not know that you're pregnant?! Also, it takes an extreme lack of empathy to throw another being (alive or dead) away in a bin. If she didn't want her baby so should have taken her responsibility and looked at options. There are plenty of couples out there who'd wanna adopt a child. I hope she gets charged!
