    Noticed something, your river sizing with value is always based on target range vs balancing your range. Doesn’t that make you exploitable. Like your sizing down with nuts more often vs bluffs almost always going OB.

    • @YolanCohenPoker
      @YolanCohenPoker  10 місяців тому

      I take the highest EV line all the time. If being unbalanced and being exploitable makes my EV worst, then I play balanced.
      Thats why I play completely unbalanced at nl200 and less in video and Balanced in 5k.

    @23:00 KJo on A3As 8 5 board:
    - I don’t understand why you would overbet(OB) with trips. Paired board will have a lot of pocket pair that BB will call flop. On the river BB range is a lot of these pocket pair JJ-22. Some of the can block bet others need to check. Most of your Ax will go into either these sizes. So OB will be pretty tiny region. Plus on paired board when both players have lot of trips, OB is always a tiny portion of the overall strategy.
    Though I get that exploitatively bluffing OB will generate lots of folds

    at 34:00 when you say that KK plays vs the same outs as AJ vs A5, I don't get that part. AJ has 3 Jacks and 3 eights, while KK has 2 Kings and 3 eights, and on the 8 we still have to bluff our KK vs A5?

      Yes it’s true. But I was talking about against the overall range. KK has 2 outs vs 55-88 where as AJ is dead and have reserve implied

    @41:00 I think your play of x is good especially with the club blockers. You want to block the Jx combos that would x on turn. Usually Jx with 9 kicker or below. Since most of 9x and below would be suited you wanna hold H or S suit. But also Kx can’t bluff all the time on such dry paired boards

    • @YolanCohenPoker

      Agree, but still I think overbet will be slightly overfold by the pop

    Yolan rocking that Blue Steel
    43:00 A4o hand, don't you think his bluff region just range bets such favorble flop as PFR vs BB cold calling range? what kind of bluffing range do you think he's showing up here with often enough to make the fold feel exploitive?

    • @YolanCohenPoker
      @YolanCohenPoker  10 місяців тому +1

      It’s not because the board is favorable that you will range bet. It would be mixed between big and x mostly (with some small).
      It depends on a lot of factor like how dynamic the board is, EQR etc…
      I folded because i timed out, otherwise it’s a call against this guy cause he was pretty good.

      I only do something I can invest 100% of my time in. Thats why when i did memory training i got a world record, when I decided to play poker it was to be top world etc…
      I dont have the desire to become the best plo player, so i prefer not to play the format. 😊

    On 9J9(tt)67 after xx xx B
    What hands will you jam? Maybe for value only 77 is credible, but at that rake structure you could maybe have T8s mixing? Maaaaaybe trap 66 sometimes? I guess unlikely.
    This line feels like it's TT almost every time from villain at 500nl. Maybe some AK, and Maybe some AA if they are tricky. I suspect would be overfolded if IP shoves. Just wondering what hands you would bluff with.

    • @YolanCohenPoker
      @YolanCohenPoker  10 місяців тому

      Hey mate.
      I think the spot would be drastically over called by the 2k pop.
      It’s quite intuitive to play JJ or 99 has a x x b. HS pop tends to overtrap very strong hands (JJ 99) and under trap strong hands (AJ AA).
      It doesn’t mean I’m not going to have bluff. But blocking a J is super important here. So i will bluff KJ AJ JT doubled check has low frec.
      Bluffing in GTO comes from the 7x region I believe.

    Yolan, one question, which line is bluffed more by population on the river on average, the 10% block and then get raise bluffed, or the check, and then they bet for bluff?

      Gotta be honest I think I don't have the answer on this one.

  • @samuraijack1371
    @samuraijack1371 10 місяців тому

    @24:30 you are way better player than I’m but I kinda disagree with what you say about betting 10% and losing a ton of EV if you get raised. OOP will usually bet as per equity. 10% bet vs check is not very different.Infact I would think in practice it works better cause IP isn’t raising thin enough to the 10% size where was you may face a 50% bet if you checked. (However that’s not the reason to block bet.)
    What you say, holds true if you are IP. Cause IP can check and get to showdown vs bet 10% and get raised. That eat away all the EV as your hand becomes a bluff catcher. 0EV. when you win you win extra 10% of pot but when you get raised you lose 110% of pot. So so if you get raised even like 9% of the time all your EV is gone

    • @YolanCohenPoker
      @YolanCohenPoker  10 місяців тому

      The pb here is you just dont have enough eq to bet 10%.
      It’s false that the EV diff between the two options will be low always.
      There is not enough hands i value and he can fold worst often even against 10%.

    hey yolan,
    the first hand the A8cc river bluff on 4str8 runout, I would be rly scared that recreational player can have JTo, random Tx, I see recs check strong hands on rivers sometimes, what do you think about a smaller size maybe 150%?

    • @YolanCohenPoker
      @YolanCohenPoker  10 місяців тому

      I dont like it. If i have infos about his timing + the fact that not a lot of people have 2 pairs makes it a better jam to be 100% sure he is folding.
      In general when youre not sure about it, take the bigger sizing.

      Vilain should bet BDFD more often than without. Because not having the BDFD blocks vilain’s fold and you have less EQ.
      65s blocks one 76s , when ranges get narrow , removal effect become more important.
