Hahaha it's very tricky to get the quantity right sometimes :) I've heard really good things about the AK splatter tool - which sounds really dumb to me because we all have used toothbrushes already, but apparently it's a solid product! Thanks for watching!
@PocketPigments it doesn't look like thier is alot of difference other than it having a flat end dose make me think that removeing the rounded edge might make it work better with a normal toothbrush but with the benefit of a handle but its always worth testing these things out for yourself
From what I understand is each of the different brush heads on it has a different length of bristles, different bristle quantities, different densities/hardnesses, etc. So each one created a different pattern and amount of splatter. Haven't tried it yet, but I've heard a few people talk about it so far and it seems it often goes "Wow this is kind of stupid" and then after using it "Oh, ok, this is actually great" lol.
@@Crackminis awesome I appreciate it - really curious how it works out! Feel free to reach out if you ever want to chat minis (or heck, video ideas) :)
Thank you, I really appreciate it! I actually added some more gloss varnish afterwards and they came out looking even wetter - fun! haha. Thanks for watching :)
That really depends on the colours you are working with. I went with a dark blue as it works well both with their blue skin and the green/jade hair (or whatever that is on their backs lol). Is there a particular scheme you have in mind?
@@GrngoMandngogaming Ah gotcha! hahaha, glad you liked the scheme enough to replicate it :) If not using an oil wash, perhaps consider covering everything with a base layer of a dark blue of your choice. Then you can drybrush the other colours on top, leaving the dark blue in the recesses. That might be a faster way to churn out the infantry at least! You could absolutely do a wash like Drakenhof Nightshade though and it would work great - I think you'd just need to be careful with the light-blue skin tone as the wash would stain it easily. So maybe do a base coat of the medium blue, apply the Drakenhof, and then paint or drybrush the light skin, leaving the wash in the recesses untouched. Would love to see what you come up with, really cool that you're going to try and replicate my scheme - feel free to hit me up on Instagram so you can share your pics with me there (and I'm always open to just chat or give advice!).
Thanks man I appreciate it very much! I know we’re not teaching them cursive anymore, so soon that will be a secret code language for all us old folks :)
I mean obviously a bunch of people have. But all good, to each their own, my idiocy isn't for everyone. Also not doing this as a job or anything. My intention is to have fun, share my hobby and get weird with it.
Wow. Dude, this looks amazing. I honestly thought it wasn't gonna look good. I'm totally adding this to my painting tutorial playlist.
Glad you enjoyed it! It really works well for spit and ooze and such as well, and different consistencies can give you different results too :)
I am definitely a fan of the toothbrush flick on my blood effects, although sometimes I go overboard 😂😂

Thanks for watching!
Nice! Was looking for a video on this
Really interesting video. I might try it sometime! But the final result looked like the ghouls just had some fresh meat! Well done!

Good stuff
Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
What kind of wash or shade would you recommend if we didn’t wanna use a blue oil wash?

I can't see anyone making it passed the first 30 seconds.
