You know what's funny about Sojiro finding out Morgana, he said he wasn't going to take care of him, yet his first action was giving him food and making the Protagonist clean the plate after. Talk about contradiction right there.

This confidant is th main reason I see Futaba as a little sister rather than than a lover. But that doesn't mean she's not one of my favourites ! Also coffee dad is best dad
But a big part of a brother-sister relationship is that they always bicker and fight with each other every now and then, or at the very least make fun of each other. I see absolutely none of that with Futaba and Joker.
In my opinion, it's different here. I mean, if they grew up together that would probably be the the case, but they've know each other for like half a year or a bit more. It's fine to see her as a love interest though ! I just personally don't see it that way ^^'

If I were there, my way of comforting Sojiro would be saying that "blood is thicker than water" is a very common misquote, with the real quote being "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb."

This confidant synergises so well with Futaba’s romance route. He explicitly states that Futaba is just like Wakaba, and the reason he takes in the protagonist is because he reminds Sojiro of himself. The parallel is pretty apparent.

Seems to be a sort of running joke in the developing team that the only shadows capable of giving out large sums of money in Mementos are the ones that are guilty of extortion or other illegal/immoral methods of obtaining large sums of money.

Well, with the members of the Phantom Thieves it was some kind of information about the team type of cutscene, and other confidants like Takemi were about the medicine. But when I sae that Sojiro was gonna get a cutscene too I was like "What? Are you gonna ask them where they learned how to make such good coffee"?

This is one of my favourite confidants since it's so heartwarming and impactful to witness as he treats the MC as a nuisance in the beginning of the game to treating him like a surrogate son by the *Spoilers* Sea nijjima palace story chapter is emotionally impactful to me, and shows brilliant character development for Boss too

Gentleman Gamer yeah I have to say this confidant is very heartwarming in the last 4 ones or so, the first 2 or 3 were kinda eh because of our situation at the time, 4 and 5 were more mysterious and 6 was packed with tension
Just a quick tip on spoilers, if someone is reading the comments and sees a word in bolded letters their eyes are going to be automatically drawn to it so just put an indent or two after if you're going to bother trying to not spoil something
I always understood the "Could you not... get with Futaba?" as a suggestion from him, as in he was asking the protagonist if there was any reason he could not get with Futaba.
Knowing his character, how much does he appreciate you at that point and the line of "I can't imagine you calling me 'father'...Although, maybe it wouldn't be so bad." that he was actually asking you to be there for Futaba in a roundabout way.
And so I did.

I think the "maybe it wouldn't be so bad" is more of a sign that he considers the protag as part of his family, and that he's kinda like a son to him.
Ive taken it as he knows they are very close and can see they might be staring to for that sort of relationship

Technically he's just returning back home for the last year. Afterwards he can just go to college in Tokyo. Remember, he's a freeloader and his expenses are being paid by his family. Sure, Soujirou would probably pay if he decided to stay the extra year (heck,he probably would give him a proper room in the house), but considering the temperament they gave the Protagonist of P5 he likely doesn't want to impose.
And again,like I said,it's just one year more and then he can move back wherever he likes, since you know, College. It'different from P4 in that regard because Yu has no real excuses to remain or return to Inaba, there's literally nothing there outside being with his friends, because it's in the middle of nowhere. When he does returns it's for a brief vacation and that was it. The P5 gang live in Tokyo, perfect excuse for a freshly out of highschool boy to move out and start his University years.

you'd expect the dialogue to be different if you'd gotten to the max rank at that point of the game, i.e. when asking Sojiro about Futaba him saying "Well, all i'm saying is that you've met her uncle" and at the end "Then, there was also the matter of Futaba's uncle dropping the charges when you were the only person to know about him"
I wish there was some alternative dialogue if you cheat on futaba during Valentine's day.
