- I absolutely love the new building system, it is the best build system!
I have been wanting quarter or half wall pieces for the longest time. Every time I built something in Ark: Survival Evolved I have wanted them. So this build I really wanted to experiment with them. I love how creative you can be with the new system.
I think it turned out to be an awesome build. If you are following along, let me know if you ever do anything with the roof space. The house itself is huge and has a lot of room for anything you would like to use it for.
I chose this spot specifically because this is where I built my first House with a Dino Pen for UA-cam. Seemed fitting.

We made this our server Admin house. New players always compliment it but we make sure to give you the credit. We made some very interesting modifications to it, wish we could show you. I think you'd really enjoy it. Thanks for the creativity.

I tried building it on Pve on a much larger scale and it worked ( after a while ). I’m rly happy with the result and now I can flex my base on everyone in the server

I have managed to build this beautiful house in game, took a while but it was worth it in the end. I have used a Rex as a platform for easier building from outside and once I had any of the roof pieces on it was much easier to put all the remaining ones on. Please share some more of your creations :)

Especially since you don't have to demolish your structure anymore. S+ system changes everything, now its always picking up your structure😊 Its so great not needing to grind every time you make a mistake. One of the reasons why ASA is new better Ark

Awesome build, very nice indeed! The building in Ascended reminds me a lot more of the building in games like Conan Exiles. They did some good work on it.
I think the height has matched up to Conan Exiles now, the pieces are very tall. I'm loving the roof additions, much more freedom now.

It's a lovely build. Might I recommend for your next videos, to show the inside as well as the outside. After all its where we live and work in the game.
I do, sometimes! I didn't actually decorate inside this one. I really appreciate the advice, though, and I will make sure to do it every time since you make a valid point. XD

I feel you. I only pillar around my base area and some tree spawns and rocks. But what's also bothering is that people can't seem to know how to build and put ridiculous behemoth gates and boxes as their base. Its lazy and stupid. People should learn to build like this. Ark would be a fantastic great game if the whole community just learn to work together and that includes removing pillars for others to build but also keeping a good distance from each other because a good amount of space is needed but nope most people just basically take up half the map and unnecessary space, especially when the land is literally empty. My base area is 500 miles and I have two players by me which I allow because those areas are for anyone to build. Also being a good player gives good reputation which leads to trading and buying from others. Ark shows our true colors and our personalities on how we react to others. Most people are selfish spoiled brats and don't care. New free maps will be added, I hope you get a spot buddy from one. Sorry about the big comment.
This is exactly why I don't play on those types of servers and always just get one for my community. Pillar spam and inconsiderate people. I don't know how you all put up with it

The width and length measurements are missing so we don't have to count, but the rest is perfect.

I’m a little late but I’m trying this build too and I can’t get my roofs to snap in the middle of the sloped walls in 11:20 and I tried the quarter floors thing
My son loves how this looks on our Island we are building on. I'm going for the village look on it. Gonna have the house, workshop, greenhouse separate, and a couple gazebos around it connect with paths etc..... If you get bored, maybe could put that talent to work and do a workshop and or gazebo style greenhouse vid that would look good in the type of setting I'm talking about?

Alsooooo.. if I were to start on a workshop in the same style. How big would you like it? Are you the kind of Ark gamer that uses more than 1 crafting station or is 1 of each enough?

@@kiitarie Room for 1 of each, indy forge, chem bench, fabricator, smithy, and replicator when I start killing bosses on my new server is fine. And also enough room for 6 or so fridges, 5 ish vaults and some of the shelves from circa's decor mod is fine.

You should put how many structures it takes, that is, how many ceilings, walls, pillars, etc. but good tutorial, I am right now in an official process making this house that I saw on another server.

@@kiitarie Its a must have on all future builds really. As a lot of people are going to want to copy your beautiful build and seeing the potential of the interior is important, or they might just go to the next build video. Also, avoid changes to the build mid video like you did with the outside gate. idk if there was a reason, but someone following step by step would not be happy with that lol.

I can’t get the roof to go halfway on the sloped wall
Try putting down a quarter wall first. I had the same problem. I had to be careful where I started.

Are you snapping it to a quarter ceiling piece and do you have structure collision disabled on your server, if not you can always try removing the sloped wall underneath, placing the rood and then replacing the sloped wall. Once you have one it is easy to go on from there.

Sometimes, I plan them out. Sometimes, I completely wing it. A lot of the time, I have a design idea in my head and will work around that.

If you're on official, you probably can't do it at all. Do they have clipping enabled on the server? It's easier to get them to snap to quarter floors.

Is it enabled only on creative mode?
It's actually snapped to a quarter wall. Try using either the quarter wall or floor to help get you started. Creative mode is not required..

I can’t get the wood roof panels to snap in the middle. Is there a trick?
It needs to snap to a quarter ceiling piece. If you are having trouble, try removing the sloped wall and putting it back when you get the roof in place.
I can’t get the half slope thing going with the roof at 11:25. It literally won’t go any further and if I put a wall the roof floats above the house

Yeh thats likely the cause. It's not a mod, though, just a server setting. You can try removing the sloped wall underneath, then place the overhanging ceiling and put the sloped wall back. That should work.
How are you getting it to overlap on the roofs! It's killing me full ceilings or even quarters I cannot get roof slants to over lap toggling through snaps it refuses its driving me crazy also holding in Q does not remove snap to grid for me.
I was going to have it poke through the wall, originally. But it just happened to overlap like that. 1i was pleasantly surprised. Do you have clipping enabled? Structure collision or something its called.

I have a server with my Twitch community where we are playing through the game like normal. It has been a lot of fun. A lot looks so different. But as I'm sure you can imagine, I'm the group builder, so all I've done is a lot of building XD

That's enabling clipping. Something along the lines of disable structure collision.

You can always remove the sloped wall underneath, then place the roof as it should be snapping to a quarter ceiling piece. Then you can put the sloped wall back. The issue isn't console vs pc. It is whether or not you are playing with structure collision on or not.

Try and snap to a quarter wall.
I commented on another account and finally realized my son's account was logged in. Anyway this one is mine lol. I have two questions. Which mod do you use for the decor plants and what did you do to get the quarter wall to snap right at 6:40 I noticed you had to play with it a little but I have been unsuccessful so far lol. New to building these cool builds on unofficial so ya'll might have to bear with me a little. 😆
Unofficial is the way to be! I was just flipping through the different pieces by pressing r. Theres two walls in that list and a railing. The 2 walls are there because the orientation of the wood can be different. For decor plants, I use the mod Circa's Garden Decor. However, this is an older video from when the game came out. I may have just planted savoroot. It was my go to before mods.

You need to enable clipping. It's something like disable structure placement collision.

I'm having issues with the rustic sloped curved wood wall (the one that is like an arch support)
It every time the game crashes or I leave the game and come back, they keep resettng the orientation. I've had a bunch of supports that looked great with my build, but it's been really disappointing to return to the game and see then reset every time.
I have made sure the game saves (which it has, as everything else is fine)
But weather I'm on single player or private server, it still does it.
Any suggestions? (Im on Xbox Series S)
That's an extremely bizarre bug. I've heard Xbox is having a whole mess of them. I hope they fix it for you soon.
I don't really know what I could suggest. Is it just that item, or is it that space? Have you tried using something else until they fix it?
@kiitarie It also happened with the wood railing from that mod when using as a stair railing. It resets to flat. I tried to report it to the mod creator but there isn't an option on ark on the Xbox mods list
There's a whole section dedicated to the mods in their discord. You could also try on curseforge itself.

There should be a setting somewhere. Prevent structure something. I'm sorry I couldn't find it myself.

Idk about looking good next to that tbh. The materials I use in the workshop I did on Ascended are all wrong for it. But I could design another and use wood/stone. I haven't been active much either. I need to fix that! And thank you so much!
@@kiitarie Welcome. I’m going to do the large house. I’ve seen workshop / base builds but I want them to be their own separate lil spots at my base location. Have a house, workshop, greenhouse, and maybe a breeding place all disconnected from each other, kind of like my own little village kind of look is what I’m going for on this one.
I absolutely love creating little villages, too, when I play, so I get it.

How are you building ceilings through other ceilings? Mine keeps saying it's obstructed.
I believe they are snapping to the quarter floor pieces. It could also be server settings. Clipping needs to be enabled.
@@kiitarie at 13:30, I cannot for the life of me put two wood roofs side by side like that. it says it's obstructed. i already have this setting in place: bDisableStructurePlacementCollision=true, but that doesn't seem to be fixing the problem.
i figured it out. my game.ini was titled [/Script/ShooterGame.ShooterGameUserSettings] when it was supposed to be titled [/script/shootergame.shootergamemode]

It's snapping to a quarter floor piece. Not the roof. I didn't realize at the time that a lot of people would have so much trouble. I need to put notes in the videos for those parts in the future.
I tried snapping to quarter floor pieces. I tried eeeeverything. I think the problem is that I have structure collision turned on. I’ll try turning that off on my server tomorrow to see if that does the trick. I suspect it will.
@@CanadianExpert101 I was still teaching myself how to do it when I made this video. So it's not shown the best. It could be a collision thing. I play with clipping enabled.

Why won’t it let me flip the two walls at 13:05? I’m losing my mind with this building system, somehow they made snapping and flipping worse than ASE 😭
Edit: Nevermind, for some reason the wood walls were glitched and i fixed them by dropping and picking them up.

You can achieve the overhang effect because now ark lets you place sloped ceilings in the middle of a wall🤯

@@ManjiMadness It is absolutely brutal when the snap will not move into position, Have you tried building outwards from the base with quarter walls and snapping to those then deleting once you get the one you need in place? That's what I do sometimes when snaps aren't cooperating.
What key deletes unwanted items that quickly?

It's a speed build. You could try slowing the video down in the youtube player? I set the video to 200% so half speed would be normal play speed.

You know you can slow the playback speed, right? Regardless, I do speed builds, anyway. People choose to follow along. I try and do them so it's easier on people who do, but that's not always possible. Sometimes, I even change my mind mid build.
Youu can slow the video down.....
Or...you know...pause is an option too
