How to Sew Collar and Yoke Ruffles

- This sewing tutorial will show you how you can add a back yoke to a blouse or shirt pattern and create and add a pretty ruffle to it. I'll also show you how to create and add the same ruffle to a stand up collar and adjust the depth of the collar pattern piece if necessary. These sewing techniques will make your handmade creations even more unique. I used this tutorial to copy a ready to wear blouse I bought years and years ago and still wear, which lots of you raved about when I wore it on one of my videos last year. I will reveal the finished blouse in a couple of weeks in my latest makes vlog. I think adding special details like these to a dressmaking project can make it stand out from your other garments and mean you do reach for it time and time again over the years. Thanks for the tutorial! I’ve been wanting to do some ruffle collars so this is perfect! Your little purple tool is cool! I use my curved sewing tweezers for helping along the ruffles and it works really well 😊

Great tutorial that has arrived just in time as I searched for ruffle collar. Just a shame you didn't show fixing the collar to the bodice to have an all in one video as I am not used to using a collar stand. I shall buy that purple tool !

How to sew the bottom of a dress if it has a curve please let me know please show
When gathering and using parallel running stitches to gather with, I was taught to stitch in between the running stitches to ensure a smooth gather without pleats 🤷♀️

Can you explain the spiced back bodice pattern where you added a little tissue. Is it for rounded shoulders? Can you explain please?

I wish you would be clear on what to trim down. Show us. The entire serge and pleated sewing can be cut away now that the top and bottom of shirt are sewn together? Also on the collar. Cut off all of the first stitching. Just keep what is the straight line.
