I think its worth mentioning that the teach for Pakistan fellowship is an exception. This 2 year teaching work experience has all the components mentioned here, especially 'ragra', leadership, problem solving, working on a community partnership project, managing stakeholders, making reports, data handling, and so on. Plus, Teach for Pakistan partners with LUMS.
Is LUMS comparable to IIM in India? Why there is no medical facility in LUMS, which is on high demand and requirement in pakistan considering many in India?
This video is from 3 years ago, I don't know if you are answering any questions now. But what about the personal statement in Lums mba application. They have asked about 3 achievements in Life. Do these achievements have to be personal or professional?
Applicants are selected for admission to LUMS MBA programme based on the following factors: GMAT score of 600+ or GRE 310+ AND Work Experience (2+ YEARS)
I am a Kindergarten School teacher in Bangladesh for three years. How much the experience will be acceptable by usa University for getting MBA programme??? Please, send me reply.
Would Disagree with you over teaching, We have had at least one person with teaching experience in the MBA class. I know two of them who ended up as exceptional students and later on went to work for Mckinsey.
Hassan Amir Khan thank for the valuable input. So they were full time teachers before joining LUMS or did they had other professional experiences as well? Let me know. Thanks again
Hi Talha, A very informative video, will surely benefit people who are looking to apply for the MBA program. These students were full time teachers with 2 years of experience. The student from my batch was a full time teacher at Teach for Pakistan and a chemical engineer from NUST. Another student from the batch of 17 was also a full time student at TFP for over two years and had an undergraduate from LUMS. I know of a third student who was a primary years prep teacher at LGS prior to joining the program and had an undergraduate degree in English. All of them were exceptional students with the first two getting offers from Mckinsey & Company as consultants. In short what the interviewers look for is a well rounded personality. The MBA program is rigorous, the interviewer tries to gauge if your experience has prepped you enough to survive the program. If you can prove you can manage stress and will contribute to the classroom discussion you have a strong chance of getting in. Absolutely agree with the point that it wont help you apply or even get an MBA if you are a fresh graduate. The class is expected to demonstrate a certain level of maturity which is mostly achieved by working for a few years. IMO 2 years of work experiences is Ideal. Less than 1 year mostly struggles in the classroom. And the challenging your job is the better you are prepared to handle the LUMS MBA program. Cheers

Teaching experience is generally not preferred for MBA - add some corporate/managerial/administrative/analytical experience as well
