I think its not pandas do not defend her. instead they give other ppl (non fans of apink but fans of kdramas) some spaces to state their opinions on her acting. that's my take. I think this is also some sort of respect. and I like that about the fans (some fans are aggressive tho but that's minority so idm). I think I'm gonna give her more chances and start to like her more ;)

i think its not that they "hate" her. its bc some of the top comments are suggesting her to be the lead instead of park sodam who has more experience in acting and capable of having the right facial expression for each scene. those type of comments are actually biased imo bc let's be real, park sodam might not suit the role but she can act better. i'm not a panda nor am i a fan of park sodam. but im stating my unbiased opinion. let's not make ppl hate kpop idol fans more bc of this type of comments. bc some kdrama lovers are not idol lovers. i think those words you stated "maybe she more talented than you haters" wont make things better instead those words will make non-fans to dislike her more. just bc of her fans. and i wanna like her. bc i like apink's song. but bc of the fans. its difficult.
I think not only in kpop, in anywhere, fans will shield their idol as long as there are ppl criticising. This is how entertainment industry works. Yes maybe some fans are over-reacting but i dont think is right to say that bcs of the fans, its difficult to like that idol. To me, Naeun has successfully portray Hye Ji's character. HJ is a weak character where her world solely resolves around HM. This makes her bland, soulless and one-dimensional. To viewers, we are exasperated, annoyed irritated. It's just frustrating to watch her(I think the author create this character to contrast the female lead). These character traits are depicted well and came across strongly when I watch the show. No hate. Just opinion.

Y'all don't understand the meaning of acting do you? Seriously reading the comments annoy me to the extent. Naneun is acting as a character! She's fairly new to acting. In the drama she's first portrayed as a jealous friend of hyun min who has feelings for him. IMO I don't like her character much at all. I don't even Stan apink but I have to say her acting is pretty amazing. NOTE: SHE WILL HAVE MORE ACTING OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FUTURE, SHE WILL MAYBE EVEN BE THE FEMALE LEAD OF HER OWN DRAMA. But seeing this comment saying "the main lead is just not cut for it, naneun should've been the lead" I know, it's her/he's opinion but I would like to share my opinion as well, the main character is doing fine. I don't know why lots of people hating on Hye Ji. Honestly, I ship her with Hyun MIn. They look great together. Ji Woon is better with the lead girl
I've been watching the show, and based on what they've given me, Hye Ji is apparently the girl next door type who grew up with Hyun Jin. The problem is that there's a strange disconnect somewhere, in that she's extremely hurt, nearly suicidal, and dislikes the main girl intensely. If her relationship with Hyun Jin was when they were young you would think that they or at least he drifted apart as they got older, and she should move on as well.
There really isn't anything that they could tell me that would change my opinion, even if she was promised to marry him as a child. As it is, she's not even on the same page as the blind dates he has to go on as heir to the company. So why does she get so hurt? What could possibly keep her continually returning for more heartache over and over. My guess is that she's written poorly, which is why her acting doesn't fit with the story very well. Usually the second lead has some sort of advantage over the lead when it comes to beauty, wealth, education, etc. It almost seems like the lead has more qualifications, in that Grampa likes her. It seems to me that Grampa doesn't even know who Hye Ji is. At the very least he should have some sort of strong reaction to her, even hate would work, since Hyun Jin would love to rebel against grampa.
I hope that the story improves regarding her, otherwise her character will become tiring. We already have the stepsister getting angry at ha won's antics. Hye ji needs to be different.

Absolutely correct. I dont hate the actress but i hate the character. She's always care about her feelings and love and emotion, shes always after to hyun min and ended up hurting and jiwoon have to comfort her and she misunderstood it. Tried to use jiwoon also though she knows hawon likes jiwoon. She makes herself pathetic alone. While hawon was honest to tell her that theres nothing with her and hyunmin. No wonder hye ji doesnt gets love the way everybody loves hawon.
Very interesting that comments on Hye Ji’s character from 4 yrs to 3 yrs to a year ago all “ on point “ as someone posted. To be honest the actress playing the role didn’t help matters as she was “ dragging “ in her acting ( the way she responded to Kang Ji Woo’s questions was so lethargic almost sleep walking ) . As a recent viewer I can see why the negativity on the character. The writers tried to interpret Ji Woon having “ feelings “ for her & constantly hanging around her as pointed out by Hyun Min. It probably all changed when Ha Won was brought in. A lot find the almost obsessive behavior towards Hyun Min annoying and the attempt to use Ji Woon to get back at Hyun Min was poorly scripted. No wonder viewers reacted protectively towards Eun Ha Won and against Hye Ji as well as Ji Woon who was a full jerk in the early episodes. Notice how there’s little negativity on Hyun Min. That’s because inspite of his crazy idea of presenting Ha Won as his fake fiancée for grandpa’s wedding, it came off as playfulness with honesty.
