Thank you for the video. Now I know how they make Spring Roll Wrappers but I have to tell you those girls work hard making so many of them. 2000 a day. Wow.
That is my mom's hometown. She also grew up making Spring rolls wrapper. Thanks for filming this. I have never been to cambodia to see where my parents are from. ☹
As a 'Westerner' to Asia I thought the spring rolls looked very nice indeed. I also thought the girls pretty in their own way, - I'm not surprised they looked a bit bored, - I think I would be doing that all day long. How much do they earn doing that.? - I was surprised also they did not have a radio with some music.
The spring rolls is from their grand parents up to now. I went there last year, her mother worked on this and this year, the 2 daughters are working on this. So, this traditional business will continue to their grand children. It's a bit boring but they survive from this work. I'm not sure how much they make per day. The spring roll is 500riel, they can sell 100 to 300 units a day. That's a lot of money
Thank-you for replying. Never having been to this Country, I find all 'local' crafts fascinating, especially food, what do they do with all the extra ones they make as someone said they can make up to 2,000 per day. For a 'cottage' industry (as we would call it in our Country) everything seemed very clean compared to some vids you see of 'street food'. What was the girl raking onto what I presume was a fire somewhere underneath the 2 plates the other one was making the "wrapping" on.
Thank you very much for your interest in our country. We're Cambodia. That spring roll wrappers and the spring is not 100% cleaned but it's natural and good
Personally I see nothing wrong with a product that is not made in one of these 'factories' that go mad about 'Health & Safety'. We have become so obsessed with it in 'the West', that if someone so much as sneezes they destroy nearly the whole days production until the 'factory' has been 'sanitized' right through. If the Grandparents, the girls Parents, and the Girls all eat them they can't be that bad, - I don't know why people make so much fuss nowadays over things like that. I can remember going on 'picnics' with my late parents, and if you dropped your sandwich you simply picked it up blew any dirt off and carried on eating it, - and I can't remember suffering all these ill effects they get nowadays.
the girls that making the spring rolls skin doesn't seem to be friendly 😒😒 I wouldn't want to buy anything from them 😐😠 anyway nice video , thanks for sharing 👍
