Wonderful singing. I had the privilege of knowing Emmanuel Fisher personally.
My Dad Barnett Abbott was a member of The London Jewish Male Choir. He was born in London in 1906 and died in 2006. The names of Emanuel Fisher ,Monty Fisher and Daphne Lewis are so familiar to me. I remember as a small child that he travelled to Germany and New York with the choir and feeling quite bereft by his absence. He loved the choir and I didn't really appreciate how superb they were. I do remember that they sang many songs in Russian and Hebrew. I remain proud of his membership and how he cherished the opportunity to sing with such wonderfully talented men.

For me, the LJMC was a free concert every Wednesday evening at the Raleigh Close Community Centre. I used to take Moshe Korn z.l. to rehearsals and everyone wanted to know why I didn't join the choir - I said I didn't read music and so instead, I got a free concert. Still listen to my three digitised discs and get so much pleasure from this magnificent choir. Nothing comes close to it!!

Legends, the like of which will never be repeated because of where they came from and who that made them. Privileged to have sung with quite a few of these champions of Jewish singing. DL

You weren't bloody marvellous. You were better than that! And Monty - he was simply on another planet - such beauty, technique and interpretatively spot on.

gut voch from australia. i have a question. is there any more jewish concerts filmed for german television from 70s or 80s you have. i know they filmed the yad eliayhu mordechai ben david concert in 1986. i am happy to pay. thanks
