My cat used to sneak in and lay in the dryer when she was younger and she was so tiny, she could be mistaken for clothes. One day while my mother was doing the laundry, she didn’t know the cat was in the dryer and accidentally turned it on. She heard the cat wail and ran quickly and turned it off and got her out of there. My cat was okay thankfully, but was leery about the dryer since then. So probably a smart move on Disney’s part since seeing Lilo in the dryer brought that to mind.
Yeah. Mom stopped the dryer and got her out in time so she wasn’t hurt, Thank God. (This happened when I was 3 and my cat lived until I was 16). But yeah, definitely a good idea to check your dryer before starting it.
Honestly I approve of this. When I was younger my mom told me to never get into a dryer because I would be stuck and die and ever since then I’ve been terrified of the idea of getting stuck in one.
This whole scene speaks to the ridiculousness of Disney censorship. By this logic, maybe they should censor The Princess and The Frog because kids got sick from kissing frogs. Even if they did that, plenty of kids could still get into trouble from imitating other movies.
Reminds me of the fact that in a very early draft of Back to the Future the Time Machine was an old freezer or refrigerator but they thought kids would try climbing into them and get stuck so they changed it.
I approve! I hid in a dryer as a kid once during hide and seek and my abusive uncle threatened to turn it on. Left me in there for at least 10 mins. Anyway it's scary because I still couldn't have gotten out without him because it shut all the way and I couldn't push it open. That's how he found me screaming to get out. TERRIFYING 😭
Same with me! It was extended day.. I didn’t wanna go home, so lil 5 year old me decided to hide in a locker. I screamed and screamed until a teacher opened the door and I cried in my mother’s arms.
I also hid in a dryer during hide and seek when I was little but I probably left the door slightly open or made sounds to warn someone was there. My mom kept a picture of my head poking out of it.
I remember watching this movie as a kid and actually wanting to hide in the dryer after this. Luckily I told my mom about it first and she told me off before I could try it. I approve of this movie change.
Once me and my aunt went to a laundromat and some girl was closing the door to a dryer that had her brother in it ( they were like 6-8), we told the worker there and turns out they were the workers kids. They later we’re running around and pushing each other in laundry carts, and their mom didn’t really seam to care.

The fact I hid in the dryer after watching this 😂
I used to hide is the dryer when I was playing hide n seek with my cousins😭
As ruthless, strict, and greedy, large companies can be.. I'm glad disney actually cares about the safety of the kid watchers
They probably don't want to get sued
They don’t they just don’t want a lawsuit when the parents severely burned kid says “but I saw it on Lilo and Stitch!”
@@anniesdrawings6578 If they’re in a dryer to the point of being severely burned… I think talking is not happening
@@DeathnoteBB okay but my point still stands, they mostly are doing it to avoid a lawsuit
They don't care about the viewers, they care about not being sued.
I offically just cried to lilo and stitch. This made me rewatch the movie.
Your way of expressing art has inspire me to FEEL my art, to appreciate my art and allow myself to heal from perfectionlism. It made me glad to OKAY with my art, thank you.
The change was made to the original release in the uk. As it didn’t pass bbfc guidelines. It was just adopted elsewhere later
Considering I had a friend nearly get stuck in the dryer an ADULT I approve this change
Do they work as an adult filmstar?
What are you doing step bro?
@@mkg2124Help step bro I’m stuck!
I noticed this and was like “…somethiiingss different.about that dryerr 🤨”
Man I feel old remembering this
I remember hiding in the dryer from my brother bc of Lilo & stitch lolol. Except he blocked me in it and didn't let me out till mom found out:'))
That's not a new edit, that was done for the original international release. I remember as a kid thinking that was an oven that they had put a pizza box over the front of it.
Maybe the change was only done in some countries or something, because I watched this movie a lot when I was little and this is the first time I've seen this whole cupboard and pizza box ordeal
I’m glad Disney + censored 🤬 the dryer machine hiding 🫣
a lot of cats have died from this, my cat likes the dryer too and I always triple check after the horror stories
@@goeticfolklore sorry to hear that.
Yeah. Mom stopped the dryer and got her out in time so she wasn’t hurt, Thank God. (This happened when I was 3 and my cat lived until I was 16). But yeah, definitely a good idea to check your dryer before starting it.
@@christinedomagala3781 I do the same thing with my 🪙 before, I start the laundry machine.
Everyone else: *talking about lilo and stich*

Honestly I approve of this. When I was younger my mom told me to never get into a dryer because I would be stuck and die and ever since then I’ve been terrified of the idea of getting stuck in one.
If parents would parent their child, this change wouldn’t have had to happen.
Disney: Make Lilo go into a cupboard and not a dryer
Also Disney: Doesn’t censor the sister putting a child in a bag
This whole scene speaks to the ridiculousness of Disney censorship. By this logic, maybe they should censor The Princess and The Frog because kids got sick from kissing frogs. Even if they did that, plenty of kids could still get into trouble from imitating other movies.
that actually makes a lot of sense
Reminds me of the fact that in a very early draft of Back to the Future the Time Machine was an old freezer or refrigerator but they thought kids would try climbing into them and get stuck so they changed it.
they literally added a pizza gate to lilo and stitch
broo ik like that makes me so uncomfortable they couldnt come up with anything else??? ugh
"Since it can be very dangerous"
*Her older sister just casually kidnaps her*
Like in bttf when they have to change a fridge to a delorean
Omg I'm glad she stopped you! Glad you told her!
"help me step-stitch!"
One of the exceptional changes in Disney
Except that if they didn't change the sound of her getting into a dryer, pulling a cardboard box makes zero sense...
Once me and my aunt went to a laundromat and some girl was closing the door to a dryer that had her brother in it ( they were like 6-8), we told the worker there and turns out they were the workers kids. They later we’re running around and pushing each other in laundry carts, and their mom didn’t really seam to care.
BRB I need to see this to myself..
NO WAY DUDE WTF.
Dude somewhere over the rainbow making me have tears in my eyes rn
LILO and stitch had the worst message when it came to making friends and the kids of the show lilo was constantly bullied by her so called “friends “ and literally no one ever stood up for her or told her that friends don’t treat each other that way instead they let her get bullied in every movie and even in the show basically telling kids it’s ok to be bullied by your friends and to suck it up
Why was my sussy brain thinking
"Hey, step mom, how are you stuck in the dryer?"
💀💀💀
My thoughts exactly "step sis help me 😩"
💀
Lmaoooo no wayy someone said it xD
