I have been binging on your videos today. I have three large squash that I need to take care of before I lose them. I was going to cut them up and put them in the freezer but I lack freezer space so I will FD. THANKS SO MUCH!

Great video on the winter squash. I want to try the butternut really soon but I’ve never tasted the acorn squash.

I just so happen to have pumpkin and hubbard squash in my freeze dryer right now, and 2 more to cook and put into the last tray of my second load. I see muffins in the future or maybe pancakes. Thank for taking the time and teaching up out here in UA-cam land.

If you like Butternut Squash you should try the smaller Honeynut hybrid. Yum

Very nice! I love squash and hope to have success growing it this year. Watching you put it in the oven on the racks made me wonder if it created a mess as it cooked. I always line my pans because it seems to leak through the skin. If it dripped and cooked on your oven floor, I make an easy DIY oven cleaner that works really well.
    ¼ cup of dish soap
    ½ cup of lemon juice
    1 cup of vinegar
    1 ¼ cup of water
Combine ingredients in a large spray bottle and shake gently to mix. Spray the solution in your stove (including on the inside of the door), then let it sit for a little while. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the solution, rinse and wipe dry. If there is anything that didn't come off, spray and sprinkle with baking soda. Scrub with a kitchen sponge, rinse and wipe dry. This has worked really well and there are no smelly chemical fumes.

Ah yes, some don't last the whole winter. Soups! Curry or savory spices. Add other veg like FD onion, celery, garlic, carrots to the blender. I put in mason jars and vac seal for lunches. Hide The Vegetable...add to casseroles, thicken other soups or add to muffins and cakes, because kids + veg = blah. Another way to cook if you only have one or two is in the microwave, whole. Pierce often like that shower scene at the Bate's motel and it won't end up looking like road kill in the microwave. As always Phil, cheers on the vid!

You can also use the butternut squash to make a pumpkin pie or cheesecake.
