He’s young with big upside. Nice hands with great touch. When you watch his jumpers that ability to knockdown those mid range jumpers is huge. His shot in general doesn’t looked forced and he’s confident generally. He’s tough, physical, and meets the moment. Can defend at a high-level which you can see in the video as well. All these clips are against big time competition and again he’s playing up in age. Smart humble kid which you can pick up on when you watch him play and you can gather from his interview. He’s a big time talent!
@BallersBridge I'm a lifelong Kentucky basketball fan, so believe me I am more than excited to hear those things. It's just that most all of the highlights I have seen of him are of him just catching dump down passes on the block and dunking them. Not really beating any defenders, no great footwork or anything really jaw dropping. But he does seem like a great kid in interviews and you don't have to be jaw dropping to be a super effective hooper. Hope you're right! I'll be back at this time next year 👍
Thanks for the comment and one thing I’ve learned after doing this for years now is Kentucky has some of the realest hoop fans. Yall don’t just show up to games, yall really track players being recruited and are knowledgeable about who’s coming in long before they get on campus. I really respect that. One reason why you may get a lot of dump down dunks in other videos is 1.) people just like posting/showing dunks. We really try to expand our player breakdowns past just the dunk highlights to show more of what a player can do. You know and I know those dunks won’t be coming that easy at the next level. 2.) He is more of a traditional PF/C in my opinion. He’s not going tho hover around the 3pt line all game and shoot wild threes. In this new landscape the guards aren’t feeding the bigs as much for post opportunities. They’re jacking up 3’s cause the coaches are allowing that more which leads to less back to basket post up touches for the bigs. The good thing is he has great touch and shooting ability which is going to pay off for him in the long run.
He’s going to be a special player for my Kentucky wildcats him somto and boogie
Good size. Decent hands. But what else?
