A kind word of encouragement from a stranger goes a long way to lift your spirits, doesn’t it? When I say you and Gordon are two crazy Dutch guys, it’s said with kindness and respect. Hope your knees recover soon, guys
I think that’s the first time I’ve seen you actually look quasi uncomfortable (cause of the cold no doubt)... such gorgeous scenery... lastly, congrats on finishing the ride!
Awesome video! Hope you have been able to recover your knees. 😉 Love Norway, such a beautiful country!!! 33°C when I was there and climbed the Geiranger fjord and Trollstigen. Really recommend those climbs for anyone that loves beautiful scenic climbs.
Hello! Very cool and informative vid! I’m planing to participate in Styrkeproven this year, but I’m not sure what time budget to aim for. You said you rode in a total of 19h? Was that the total time including all the stops or just the time spent on the bike? (Effective riding time) And did you stop on all the supply points to eat/drink or did you just grab food to eat while riding? I have so many questions about this event, I’m sorry😅
Haha no worries, we rode 19 hours, and stopped for a total of 5 hours, because we were completely frozen during the first 6ish hours of it. Stopped at every supply-point to eat and then started riding again. So total time from start to finish was 24h
I've done the race twice and it's an epic one! The first time I (and my team) did it in 22'ish hours (total time) and my knees were totally ruined. The 2nd time I raced with an almost full team and we completed it in 14 hours and 47 minutes (2016), but our weather was much better than yours. Our strongest guys averaged around 220 watts and that's pretty insane! Well ridden by you guys though - it's more challenging doing this at a lower pace. The sub 15-hour race was easy compared to the 22+ one.
@@Fernwee Yeah, we placed 4th in the team competition and our average speed was 36,5 km/h. I can't understand how well trained you have to be to ride at the record-pace. Back in 2009 a team rode it in 12 hours and 51 minutes which equals an average of 42 km/h
Well done to both of you, hope the bodies don't ache anymore. Food wise did you and Gordon go through all the food and gels you brought? or were they extra weight. Also from a mechanical perspective what did you bring. Tubes? Tyres?
Not all but we did end up eating most of our own stuff as well. Sometimes there was 60-70km between stops so you definitely want to eat something while riding. We brought two or three tubes each, but used 0! ;)
Next year we hope to see you trying the 430km at Jotunheimen Rundt ( www.jotunheimenrundt.no ) That is the greatest and hardest ride you can do in Norway! The nature is spectacular and fantastic!
Or if climbing is more of a thing check out this one ua-cam.com/video/Yocv1q4vzXU/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/T_pNChecS4I/v-deo.html from The Col Collective Both climbs dont open before middle of may, 87 km from each other so a nice trip from Åndalsnes and up Trollstigen to Geiranger and then up to Dalsnibba.
Congrats on completing the race. Very cool that people wait along the route to cheer on the riders.

when i unpacked my saddle and frame bag i found out that i've taken a few kg's extra on the road than necessary ;)
Crazy event. Well done
Fuck, this entire landscape is so insanely beautiful
Beautiful country.
Massive respect guys, makes me want to do something equally stupid. Super tempting!
3-4 degrees, holy shit! Minus 2-3, double holy shit. I rode today in 83 degrees (F) and I ran out of water-only 50kms though.
The numbness in the fingers is always the worst for me! I hate it 😂
#norweigen People are brilliant when it comes to support. Do the colorline tour. Shorter but one can go all out on it
great adventure
Great vlog bro 👍
Insane!
Cold
3:20 was that a youtube PROPOSAL? 😜
Haha she might take it that way yes ;)
@@Fernwee that would be great. You are a perfect couple. All the best for you both! :)
