I must say, as much as I love this show, I don't think the "shorts" really capture what makes it so good. It isn't just funny songs made up on the spot, it's the way they take the littlest thing from the beginning, and build on it until it takes over the whole show. They took a flub about being 1/2 man, 1/2 centaur (i.e. 2/3 man, and 1/3 horse) and just ran with it. Even the little callbacks in the finale about the principal and the pizza pockets get their due. It's all wonderful! Glad more people get to see this now

I want this to get love and attention because I have always wanted a more visual component to Jess and Zach's improv podcast. I think musical improv is a little niche (maybe? Hard to tell because it's my favorite). This might be going through a trial period at Dropout, so here's hoping it gets renewed. I'm proud of Dropout and all the new ideas coming from that subscription service... I just feel so inspired by all of these talented, creative comedians trying bold things. And of course, forever blown away by the musicians who come up with all of this on the spot. Theatre techs I see you with those lights, a lot of improv shows don't include that great element. And the narrator Mano Agapion brings the same charisma as Sam Reich. He is integral to the flow of the show- the person who thematically sews it all together. If y'all really love this, and Zach and Jess, of course, I recommend "Of Book: The Improvised Musical Podcast". It's everything you see and hear here but in a podcast. It's hosted by Zach and Jess and backed by the talented FamBand. Each episode is either a non-story-driven musical podcast or a musical tale about probable animals. And, of course, it's all improvised.
This comment isn't sponsored at all, I just love them so much.

If you want to be starstruck by greatness sooner rather than later and likes superheroes, I recommend on of my favourites, episode 225 "Marvel Sing-ematic Universe (Part 4): Crack, Crack, Boom!"
It's okay, even though it's part 4, they're an anthology.

The theme of friendship and not taking it for granted is beautifully realized with “In the Rear-View Mirror.” Also, it’s just hysterical with the half centaur and their life cycle. Definitely an amazing episode and the right one to be free on UA-cam
