Nothing wrong with inside staterooms! So much to see and do on the cruise ship that you just need a room to sleep in😅. Hope you have a great time! We always enjoy cruising.
Been on three cruises and a balcony is a must for a family. Things you should do and don’t: Don’t miss the ship disembarking from the port (go outside & view), don’t drink the water from the faucet (bring your own water if possible), don’t pay extra for a premium restaurants on the ship unless folks are high maintenance, don’t do excursions, remember to tip your servers & housekeeping & others unless it’s inclusive(I tip a little extra). Food is available 24 hours!
Crusin with Danny The Medic. I hope we'll get to see more of your first time experience on board NCL. Hope too, that the odor finally abated 😢 Good to see you go off the beaten path. Have fun! 😅 I understand that Bermuda can be chilly this time of year. I was there in June some years ago, and it was hot. Also went via cruise.
DANNY THE MEDIC- That is actually a GREAT deal, I would take it given the same opportunity my friend!!! And I would ACTUALLY prefer the INSIDE cabin!!💯
What a surprise! I'm glad you took advantage of the "complimentary" cruise I'm looking forward to seeing everything you did during the 5 days, especially the food Bon voyage!
Happy sailing Dan! You are officially a cruiser 👍 I was on the Escape back in Jun’23. It’s okay. Cruising is not as good post pandemic with all the cutbacks. We got a casino comp cruise from Holland America. HAL only charges for port fees/taxes, no admin fees like NCL. Our 11 days cruise to Arctic Circle costs only $400 (for 2 ppl).
Cruise? This is now. Expecting plastic food. Kind of like the old Imperial Palace. Everything looks great but tastes like sweetened wax. Junk fees are appalling at least to us cheap bastards. What you get appears to suck butt. Pretty much you get what you pay for. Holding for what the food and activity options. So far unimpressed.
Hey Danny My wife and I did the 7 night cruise on the Escape a few weeks ago and it was great. I only smelled funny stuff near the public restrooms and nowhere else. We also had a casino cruise from Bally's Twin Rivers in RI. Enjoy your cruise!
Thanks for the tour! I've never been on a cruise, but, like you have heard all about them. I didn't know the room was that small. I may have to try a cruise some time in the future depending on your upcoming videos.
Casino cruises were something my parents enjoyed going to from Singapore on Star Cruises owned by Getting/ Resorts World. They paid only port taxes which was around SGD $100 = US$74.
Hey Danny the Medic! Saw you got a cool cruise on the Norwegian Escape - awesome! 🚢🌟 Can't wait for your review, especially on the buffet. Is the food all salty or not? Just curious! Hope you had a blast and looking forward to your thoughts! 😊
Im going on my first cruise in January. My friend got us a balcony room; she cruises a lot. Im excited....and anxious. I'm a Type 1 diabetic so it won't be a food free-for-all. I can't wait to see all your upcoming videos.❤❤❤
Thanks Danny for taking us along. I’ve always been curious about cruises but not from a veteran cruise blogger. A first timers perspective, like you is great. Yeah, one day at a time I lost weight in the 80’s. I’m doing it again on my own and almost to where I got in the 80’s. I think you should check on those water bottles. Did the little hanger say if you opened it, they’d charge? It looked like a regular fridge not an honor bar. Bon Voyage and enjoy! I’m not claustrophobic so it’s just like a regular room with the curtains closed. Can you change channels and get different views or just the bow? Joe
you wont believe this, but just the following day at the Spice h20 bar, I was having a conversation with this japanese lady and her husband, she said not inside not inside the exact same way I said it!
Wifi is not included so be careful uploading videos. Probably best to wait till you are in Bermuda. If you do it while at sea, you may be in for a big surprise from your cell company.
thanks, I know about the dangers of big cell bills from a friend who went somewhere and didnt turn her phone off or place it in airplane mode... roaming charges were so much, in the thousands!
having done both, I say that the cruise was totally worth the 400 bucks I put into it. 80 bucks a day for 5 days... all the free food, coffee, juice, flavored waters, a room with a shower in it.. very nice.. I am looking forward to the future MSC free cruise, where it is even cheaper!
yes, hat was fine. Nowadays not many people care about hat etiquette of 1850-1950's due to the fact that nowadays nobody really wears hats, and that hats are nowadays not covered in soot like it was back in oliver twist days.
This will be my second year in a row reaching MGM Rewards Platinum Tier Status. I have no interest in taking any “Free Cruises”, why? 1. I would have to pay for my transportation to and from the Port of Departure. 2. After 12 years of Sea Duty, 7 Western Deployments and 20 years of US Navy Active Duty the last thing I want to do is, go on another “sea cruise”. 3. Large Ships always smell like “poop” even when the crappers don't clog up and there is raw sewage in the showers and on the restroom floors. 4. The Cruise Line is offering me a “free sea cruise” hoping I will gamble my money away. I would rather gamble my money away inside the Park MGM Non-Smoking Casino staying at the NoMad after I lost all of my Slot Dollars and Free Play. Once again thanks for the videos!
I doubt "Greyhound" or "Titanic" would be shown on any cruise liner, it would scare the crap out of the passengers and give them nightmares. Do you watch "Airplane" when you fly to Vegas? I do, and I make sure the Flight Attendants see it just to see the look on their faces. I don't have Apple TV, so, I will have to wait for that movie to come out on 4K. There are way too many streaming sites one has to pay for and Apple TV is not on my list, but thanks for the "Greyhound" recommendation. @@dannythemedic
Welcome to the world of Cruising. Hope you enjoy yourself. Hope you are traveling through Intl waters so the casino is open. BTW, does the ship offer free room service? I heard that some cruises charge now for room service. Enjoy your "free" meals and drinks.
Definitions of britches. informal term for breeches. type of: breeches, knee breeches, knee pants, knickerbockers, knickers. trousers ending above the knee.
With a room like this, I can easily pretend I'm on a Star Trek starship traveling to the Delta quadrant. All they need to to do is at the buffet is have the servers hide behind a big box so when you say "Computer, cheeseburger with fries...hot" the guy hiding behind the box puts your food on a plate and passes it through a slot while a light and sound special effects show represents the replicator effects.
Pretty good accommodations for a "free" cruise! The room is perfect for a single traveler. Very cozy. ❤🎉😊 Can't wait to see the rest of the ship with you. Please do a dining review.
Danny, keep us posted on how you like it! I recently went to Alaska "free" using an MGM status match from Holland America, which was great, and am booking a Princess "complementary" trip for Mexico in January. Thanks to MGM's changes I'm likely going to lose my status next year, so I'm taking full advantage while I can still status match.
I honestly wish that they bundled gratuities into the actual price - or, you know, paid the crew better. As for the inside cabin... if you haven't gone on many cruises and don't get seasick it's usually fine. But if you were ever comped an oceanview or a balcony room, it would start getting hard to go back.
Was the regular price of $688 per person? Usually for solo cruisers you have to pay double that unless there is a sale. So you would have paid over $1300.
Great timing on this video. I just got a "Free Cruise for 2 on Princess Cruiselines" from my local casino. Never been on a cruise but this helps set a good expectation. Princess Cruise any good?
The only problem with free food and all you can eat is the weight gain unless you moderate your eating. The only way to eat more is to do more activity which requires effort on a boat. Throwing dice or cards do not count!!
Welcome to that cruise life!!! I have been a cruiser for over 20 years now! I have never sailed in a inside cabin. Balcony and above for me. We are extra.
I didnt know that! the fridge was so small, I coulda used the space.. but I wouldnt take the food from places to the room and put it in the fridge, there is no way to heat things up, and this escape has a 24 hour spot!
Good for you getting the cruise. Been cruising to Bermuda three times and loved it. The brochure price you quoted..$688 does not include gratuities or port taxes. The correct savings would be $688 less $125 ($25 per day "fee"). So you actually saved $563......... a great deal.
i checked, the prices I said was total out of pocket for "free casino cruise" and total put of pocket for one single human solo booking the same thing on their official website.
It's normal to pay port taxes and gratuities on a comp cruise. Princess gives us a much better deal - no "admin" fees and a much better cruise selection. I refer to NCL as "Nickel and Dime Cruise Line", because they will upcharge you any chance they get.
@@dannythemedic interesting. Hmmm if I’m not mistaken when you were in Atlantic City you status matched with Oceans, they have Complimentary Cruise for two with balcony with MSC , no port charges or fees. May want to look into that -_-
What?! Danny cruising?! I was just on the October 8th NCL Escape sailing.

Lol, when you said free lemonaid, the wait staff might have heard 3 lemonaid. 😮? ..🤣🤣🤣
Oh what fun Danny. I'm really looking forward to seeing your cruise videos. Are you ready to sail again?
I wont be ready to sail again till next year!
On our honeymoon I almost broke my leg in that crack between the pushed-together beds. Not the best memory of a very memorable marriage.
I am still on the bubble of going on a cruise. I am happy to see you go because I am just as frugal. Joe ain’t gonna pay extra!!! Rrrrrr
