A man lift is cheap compared to anything bad that could happen to you or your surroundings. Great 👍 Job.
THANK YOU---DAD---THANK YOU FOR FAMILY.
That was so much fun to watch, and the tree is gone. Way to go!
I’m glad you had better luck than me!
I was thinking about you Daniel...
The tree types are part of it & being so close to the house adds extra tension to any felling job.
Yeah, you had a bad day when the "professionals" came over.
By the way, can't wait to see you new automatic front gate for the driveway.
DAniel, I need to catchup with your channel! Haven’t looked in a couple weeks, been busy with babies!
Good call on the man lift. When working alone on hazardous tasks, the main thing is to live to tell the tale. Thanks for sharing.
Great job Evan at least that’s another job off the list. Really cool of your Dad to help
great video. Often we beat ourselves up trying to do a project and don't want the bother of renting equipment to make it safer and easier on ourselves. Great to see what can be done with the right equipment instead of going it alone and trusting it will all work out. 175 dollars is a whole lot cheaper than hiring a tree service and cheaper than fence or building repairs or a trip to the ER. Awesome.
I had my power company out yesterday to look at a dead tree that was ten feet from their pole. Even though a second tree was more than the required under ten feet away rule to have them remove it he agreed that since it was leaning they would take that one down also. The bonus is they will cut it into four foot logs and shred the limbs out over our muddy paddock. Saves me $800 to remove the second tree, I get fire wood and free wood chips.
You made it look so easy. Glad it was a safe and successful cut!
Most excellent isn't a a wonderful feeling when your all done with a task and everything is put away to stand back and look at how good everything looks thanks for sharing
If you're weird then so am I!! I've rented one twice for two different projects. It's almost energizing working in the bucket.
Nothing better than working with dad especially as an adult its priceless
I am so happy that you got the tree down and safely. Good idea for leaving the base for the goats to climb on. They will love that.
There sure was a lot of rot in some of the limbs. It makes a definitive sound when hitting the ground. You were very wise to have your saws freshly sharpened. Good job all round.
Great job! We used to have a lift like that where I worked. You. Made me a little nervous without a safety harness. We had to wear one at all times. Your farm is looking fantastic!! Love the channel and the content!!
You for sure have no fear of heights! Glad it went smoothly! Enjoyed watching as always! 😊
Thanks for helping Dad!
looks like you had fun doing this, and felt like you accomplished so much :)
Congratulations on the tree. That was a big one and having some of it dead makes bringing it down a little challenging. The lift was worth every Penny and there is some good fire wood you can use. Nice to have some help. Looks like you had some good weather to. It’s 1 degree here today and snow on the ground.
Stay safe. On to the next project.
Great job at filming all of the angles.
🤗 Good morning.
Wow, that is quite a job!! Your work area is safer for you and the family and the goats. 👏👏 Yes, it's nice to have help. ❤❤ You folks have a blessed day. Be well. 👍🙏☝️
It's the cleanest, accident free job I've ever seen. Great job 👍
Good job Evan. You made it look so easy!
Now I’m excited to see what you design for the goats!
Great video. thanks
That was so cool to watch. Good job!
Great that your Dad showed up to help 👍🏼
You made the job look so easy. Cutting trees can be extremely dangerous. Have a good weekend 😊
YOU'RE LUCKY TO HAVE A GREAT DAD !
Great work the man.
Excellent job! I used a lift like that one time for cutting a tree and way to shaky for me and my discomfort for heights.
So much improvement if you look at your videos from a couple of years ago to today! Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you for posting this video - like witnessing tree cutting 'poetry in motion" !
good job as always Evan!!!
Good Job Evan. I was a little squeamish watching you in a couple of the shots. Especially when you switched to the longer saw and was lifting it over the basket rungs. It is really helpful you know how to run this big equipment. It sure would have cost a lot more to have it cut down professionally. Have a Blessed day. BTW Thanks to your Dad for coming over to help out.
Nice job Evan, keep up the good work.
Good job with narration and video - very helpful. Thanks!
Good job 👍
The right tool for the right job. Good to have your Dad drop by too. I didn't realize they were close.
Good job, you made it look easy.
Nice job. We like your videos
Great job, well done
What a great video!! I was worried about you! That was a big ass tree 😯
The video shots were really fantastic. Did see some exploding branches. Great to see you guys work, waste not want not. Manlift worth every bit of the $175, it was a bigger job than expected.
Wow! Big job indeed! Safety first.
This is very helpful.
Good job Evan especially working on your own up there... 👍
Great boys toy very enjoyable to watch good job Evan 👍
Having the right equipment sure made this job look easy; but of course it’s hard work. Great job buddy. Cheers
Great job Evan, we could tell you were excited to have that tree on the ground. Thanks for sharing with us.👏🏻👏🏻👍👍
Good job Evan! That old tree was one storm away from falling on something. Nice catch!
Glad you were safe; and Thank God for dads ...
Nice to have good help !
Nice job well done 🙂🙃❤️
Great job man! Beautiful place you have there!
Wow, you are super good at this
Accomplished what you wanted. Nothing got broke and no one got hurt. THAT is what I call a win!
Nice job. Enjoyed the video.
Good job Evan you made a tough job look easy 👍
Great job .
You enjoy cutting them down and I enjoy watching you. Your making the goats something to play on is a great ideal. God bless.
Can't you swing it UP Forward and chain it there so it won't drag? If fencing is done, why not dismount it? Oops - wrong post
Awesome video!
...GOOD ONE, NICE JOB, STAY SAFE...
Good job
I rented the same make/model manlift last summer to paint my barn & roof. Needed every bit of that 45' to do roof cap. My lift looked brand new, but could not believe the bob & weave of the basket, no matter height or reach. Used small & large LP lifts over the years with out the sway. Point is, you did not appear to be bouncing around. My cost for week incl. pick up/delivery/sales tax was $743.00 for 20 miles 1 way. Your place looks great.
Right into the action. Great video
Easy Peasy ! Quick and Slick !!! Job Done!
Great Job and a whole lot safer!!! Thanks...Peace!!!
Bill
So happy you chose to rent and use the man lift .
Well done.
Like the idea of leaving it for the goats. Good safe job.
Great video. Great Job.
Grettings from Concepción, Chile.
im sure im not the first to mention it but to keep your auger from swinging you can do what we do and just use rope to hold it up to the 3 point hitch. its worked well for us and saves us from having to take it off and on all the time
Good job on the tree. Well worth the the rental cost for the man lift.
Job done. 👍👍
A good bit of firewood, nice going!
Hi..... Country View Acres, thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍
Some of those logs would make good campfire seating.😊
Great going
Awesome 👌
I'm glad to see you taking the safety precautions. The Man Lift is cheap considering the alternative of an accident. 'Better Safe Than Sorry' 🙂🇺🇸
Good job, greetings from Europe
You're a common sense guy! I'm going to be doing similar sized trees which aren't dead. In a little tighter area so, thinking about getting a powered lift so I can zig zag around more easily. Thanks for the video!
my brother n law rented one just like that for us to cut tree limbs away from my 90 year old dads home and out of the power line by the house worked great quite a bit of reach out from it, stepped out of the basket onto the peak of the 2 story house to push limbs off (NICE)
Knowing how to operate and being used to a manlift seemed advantageous.
Lovely day to be outside. Plenty of wood there to keep you busy!
That man-lift sure made the job a whole lot safer. Nice work on getting the tree cut down safely. It should provide a nice amount of firewood for the campfire and maybe the house fireplace too, and if you have any building to do, and know someone with a sawmill, maybe some wood for building things too.
Amazing camera work
Nice work. I want some of that maple.
I wish I had that wood for firewood. Good job!
Thx
It’s good to have a dad
Nice job with those drone shots while up in the man lift - that is a lot to keep track of for you!
Yes it is. I am a one man film crew most of the time. So I am used to it.
Whew!!! Nice to have that bad boy on the ground.
A GOOD JOB WELL DONE
Great video and info.
Love to hear the story on the HAM radio tower in the background.
It is a homemade antenna tower. It has a hinge joint, so you can lower it to the ground and attach the antennas. It is so rusted I would be afraid it would break if I lowered it.
When we cut the stump, let's cut a notch for a bottle jack to see if it would help it fall in the right direction. That would be interesting to watch, and then I can see if it's worth on my own trees.
Get a 12 ton jack or larger for there’s no going back if the jack can’t handle it. There are some goof Y. T. Videos on this practice.
When you get to the base of that stump it would be cool to know how old that tree was, being a maple that large around it had to be over a hundred, possibly way more (haven't cut many large maples, not a dominate tree here), demonstrates approx. lifespan of that particular variety.
That Maple stump would make a great chopping block 👍
Loved the vid. You made me nervous, I have a problem with heights. I noticed that when you drive your tractor around you drag the post hole digger auger. I keep a short piece of small chain in the tool box and hook it around the boom bar.
I’ve rented man-lifts like this to do this type of work several times. The biggest problem I’ve found doing it this way is you tend to make your cutting decisions based on where the lift is and not always the best way to take a limb down. You got lucky when that limb got hung up that it didn’t come back at you when you cut it loose. Better to get the basket above the cut so if it comes back at you it’ll go below the basket.
