We would like to give a shout-out and special "thank you" to the bear who was kind enough to film the landing and departure on that grass field, and then upload the footage to Matt so he could add it to this vlog!
Little bit of a crosswind inside the plane there.. and THEN goes and gets a milkshake! This was a fun one, and what a great view. Thanks for bringing us along!
He left him in Pocatello with no phone charger or clean pair of underwear, he was late picking him up and brought him breakfast of Ritz crackers...Pretty sure he crop dusted him also LOL...Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Him and Owen are REALLY close 😆
Regarding Indian Creek, the runway length can lead to a false sense of security. Indian Creek is known for having a mid-day heat inversion. It's like you get the gear up and then, ugh! It's like suddenly you can't climb for squat until you finally get out over the cooler air over the river then find yourself following the river to climb out. Despite its length Indian Creek is really an early morning, late evening airstrip, not to mention turbulence and cross winds start picking up around 11:00 as you discovered. The FBO'S will even shy away mid day flying come summer. Some of the most violent turbulence I've ever experienced was descending down Pistol Creek where it merges with the Middle Fork of the Salmon. It was so bad I went high pitch on the prop,, and lowered the gear. Even then it was chaos and we bagged it and diverted to McCall till late evening. Then never had so much as a ripple. Also a lot less terrifying for passengers prone to getting their rosary's out! The same applies even more so for Pistol Creek as there is a substantial mid field cross wind every day starting around lunch time. I grew up with my family having a cabin at Pistol Creek. My father and his partner in the cabin were both commercial airline pilots with West Coast Airlines starting in 1954. The Partner also owned the Beechcraft Dealership in Boise so we always had the latest model to fly. Partner also owned the Avis Dealership and several aeronautical companies. So growing up I had the opportunity to often fly with two professional pilots, what an education that was. My father was fanatical about center of gravity, gross weight, and density altitude. Our first Bonanza N521AD only had 185hp, and no turbo! Never saw dad or Partner fly past 10:00am in July or August.
I don't think I have ever heard someone say "well thanks, that's very nice of you" with less enthusiasm than what Owen did LOL Also, has anyone noticed the two voices of Matt...one is his normal voice and then there is the lower, husky, somewhat bored com voice?
If you have a camera system in your home with internet connectivity, some have the option of being able to turn on lights or other devices from an app on your phone. You can use this to open your hangar door if you want, from the app on your phone, and watch the door open with a camera pointed in that direction for confirmation.
I'm curious about airparks in general. You're up and flying by 5 or 6 in the morning. Being that it's also a residential community, does the airpark have any rules about how early (or late) you can be flying ? Great video BTW !
G,day Matt from Sydney Australia. * Like the Stockman's chairs: remember if buy cushions to have ties, so they don't blow off!!!! * Smores: sweet. * Great short film. 😼🌴
@@patmack14 well, if she’s kind of new to flying they may have wanted her to have the front seat experience. But either way, he stranded Owen and took the girl home
Hi Matt, would you recommend reading any background material or taking mountain flying instruction before attempting these Idaho backcountry strips? Or is it just basic common sense? I visited Johnson Creek and Krassel by car but haven't flown in yet.
Move the door remote to the outside into a plastic box. We did that at the fire station then just added some wire in between the remote and door motor. Another tip - for 'nasty' smells - Vaseline to the tip of your nose (in between the openings). (Or a air pack) Had to help remove bodies more then once. (I know.. just passing on life experiences) Take care be safe. Spin
Hello from a fellow “Matt” and hopefully future A36 owner. Really enjoy the videos and speaking of which, you may have been asked before but what is your video and audio setup? Editing software?
I believe those are high school graduation years. The senior class paints their graduation year on the hill. This is very common all over the rural western United States. The "A" at the top of the hill is probably for Arco, Idaho.
When they did the fly by they drop all their cameras out of the window with parachutes. They have remote controls to help guide the cameras down so they land in the right place. It’s quite fascinating. Then when they want to pick them back up, they deploy their tail hooks and scoop up the cameras without ever having to leave the airplane

Haha. “We’ll be out of here at 5” “6:07am” that’s me every damn morning.
Owen was FURIOUS when he got in the plane. The best understated rage I've heard in years! Off camera I bet he lost his sh t totally...
I too noticed that. But it maybe because he had just gotten up.
I am always impressed by the extreme junk food consumption in Matts life. 😂
Life’s different above 30. Totally different above 40. I start panicking if I see a drop off oil in my plate.
@@farhanfouadacca ok. Above 50 you arrive in hell about food concerns. Never thought earlier in my life, that I think seriously so much about food.
@Bobolirioes yes thats true.

Living the Life Gentlemen! Thanks for bringing me along. Just adding to my bucket list.
Very cool Matt it is a nice way to live your life, it seems like you enjoy every minute
Great flight, beautiful scenery. Love flying with you. Keep it up.
I sure hope you compensate Owen ;-) ... seems like he puts up with a lot...maybe its just the editing?
Poor Owen in the Guthmiller fartmobile :)
I feel sorry for Owen! Matt, the gas is supposed to be in the tank and not in the cockpit! 🤣
LOL!!!
Owen was pissed 😂😂😂
@@BlazinMonk I think you mean gassed! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Climb on outa here” except we have to go back down and take out more shrubs and beat the prop up with gravel again just to get the camera.
Poor Owen look like he was a great sport about it. What an amazing view!
I couldn't stop laughing for the "incident" Congratulations Matt for your tremendous work, very good and cool videos. Greetings fron Chile. Bye.
Owen should have left a bolt not all the way tightened up in one of the chairs as a revenge to matt xD

Owen you’re a man with class and the greatest attitude, oh by the way, I meant JUST YOU.!!!
Owen was so salty for this vlog!
Did you see the previous vlog?
it was in the script..
First you strand Owen then you stink him out in a confined space. I think he deserves a major all expense paid vacation... 🤣😂🤣
the take off at 9:22 Looked awesome.
I swear this looks very fun bonanzas brings alot of fun .
Incredible scenery thank you for sharing 👍
LMAO, with the Cross wind check!... lololol
I've owned a Bonanza or two over the years. They are all bush Bonanzas. That was always the point
One word to Matt. BEANO! Take one before EVERY FLIGHT meal.

Thank you beautiful sunrise landing love your channel thank you so much
I'm excited for this video!
Great video. Thank you.
Seems like it was "nice and windy" inside the plane as well as outside...
Amazing scenery.
good video guys & nice flying !
😊
I didn’t realize I was into flying until I found this channel.
Food for thought anyone...how about some Smores...
Last time I was this early, I ended up at walgreens the next morning
Stoooop😂😂
Thank you for sharing. Great as usual.
Seems like there is never a shortage of chow with Matt, it's a wonder there isn't gas in the cabin on a more regular basis. 8) LOLOL --gary
What's the squawk code for a gas attack in a confined space? Especially when the attack has been initiated by the PIC!

Looks like 9070.
Who is the new girl?
Owens girlfriend I believe.
Great editing
Beautiful country, thanks for sharing.
A word of caution Matt. Don't sit too close to the fire. Boom!
Pretty sure I heard your call sign on SoCal approach freq on Friday. Told my passengers, "Hey I know that guy... on youtube"

Leaving air biscuits in the cockpit lol
Matt needs to rename this channel "All Junk Food All The Time". That works for a while until you're about 40.
Yep, caught up to me at 39..
My body failed at about 32.
Did owen say" whats up
A**hole "?
U guys should have a TV series
Dude, he sounded pissed.
Owen! You need new friends😜 Plus you need your own UA-cam channel. It would be awesome 🤩
Just resubscribed - what happened to Rachael?
Who is the new chick?
If you're going to be doing the Idaho Backcountry and need more than two seats, I'd look at purchasing a Maule. Would suck to beat up that Bonanza.
There are garage ginie openers that hook up to your wifi and allow you to open and close from your cell.

To open your hanger door sooner, get myQ. It allows you to open your garage door from your iphone from anywhere in the world.
What did Owen’s shirt say at 18:22? Couldn’t understand.
Also, what’s the name of your new girlfriend?

how does he record his departures and landings?!
Where is your home base situated?

Guess he did some pattern rounds in the BB. ( Bush Bonanza)
Easy way to leave someone on the ground. Then come back to pick them up. And edit the video.
When is it not windy in Arco, lol.
So does this dude do extra take offs and landings just for b roll footage?
Yep, those pre packaged donuts will do that
You can get there by raft in the summer. River of No Return!
Beautiful location, but not sure the Bo' appreciates mowing the lawn if you know what I mean.
Rachel out and new girl in. HUH

Some model of a RED I believe
In the other videos was a Z - Cam but this time seems different or Simplicio mounted in another way
