Total ripoff. James T Kirk knew Kip (Knight Rider) from time traveling together, and they brought many instruments, some even living at the time, to Earth, where guys like Spock would release records that were secret messages from Frank Sinatra. It all shook out in Vegas one day (Error 404: Dimsum Not Available) .

Here from Waukesha WI the birth place of Les. 20years ago Les Paul landmarks would say “Les Paul the inventor of the electric guitar.” Since then many landmarks and other things have been edited and updated. Now most landmarks a Les Paul things just say the known true fact “Waukesha the birthplace of Les Paul”.

I might get crucified for this… but am I the only person who thinks Gibson acoustics make even brand new strings sound like rubbery, thumpy trash?
Hell, I’m even gonna double-down on my blasphemy and say I’d sooner string up an Ovation than a J-45.
    There.
    I said it.

Appleton often gets neglected when discussing early electric guitar history and it's a shame, cause even though it was never produced beyond his own prototypes, it's actually a cool design and truly a "proper" electric guitar, more so than Les Paul's Log or the Rickenbacker pan.

All that aside, the 34-36 L-00 guitars remain the holy grail of Gibson acoustic bluegrass tone. Just ask Larry Keel or David Via. I came so close to buying Via’s 34. Still might.

Gibson is a boomer hype brand. Plain and simple. When the boomers are gone no one will be collecting those over priced pieces of wood except Joe B and trogly. The values will plummet. Even Gruhn thinks this is the case. It’s why they’re pushing so hard right now, it’s sell as much as possible while the boomers are alive and over-inflating the values of the instruments. My experience with Gibson was decent at first, had a Jr that was a great little guitar. Then I bought a brand new SJ200 from Gibson in Nashville in 2016 and the neck was overset from the factory. Gibson refused to acknowledge this and left me on my own. That’s what I get for playing authentic. The guys I know who worked in their factory in Nash left after a year or two. It’s not a good vibe apparently and corners get cut on everything that costs less than 10k.

Nevertheless, the guitars Gibson produced are still legendary and amazing in their own right. Also, there's not really a lot of evidence concerning the various 'discussions' appleton and les paul had with Ted McCarty and his designers. Ted McCarty and others who were there at the time, in the company, vehemently refute a number of Les Paul's claims.
