1979 Oldsmobile 98 Regency
The Oldsmobile 98 is the full-size flagship model of Oldsmobile that was produced from 1940 until 1942, and then from 1946 to 1996.
Seen here is an all original Oldsmobile 98 Regency with 2,650 title verified original miles, save for a repaint being the only deviation from original, but still in the factory color. A fine example from the 1979 model year where automobiles still had the stigma where status was measured by the inch, and the more Detroit iron the car had, definitely the better. Space abounded with the interior, and it almost got to the point where they would be putting TV's in and handing the passenger a remote!

I love Oldsmobile pillow top seats. Whole car is a rolling couch. 😀💣
I'm 54yrs old and I grew up with oldsmobiles. I think they are classy cars..I even like oldsmobile station wagons
Oldsmobile has understated elegance. That’s something Cadillac never had.
You mean OL-MOBILE
Like the Supertramp tune playing, released the same year .
Thanks for noticing! That was intentional!
Supertramp rules
I had a 77 regency when I was 18years old. Teenagers 💕 these cars too.
Wish I had this baby!!! My mom had a triple black one with leather seats and wire spoke wheelcovers. I Ioved that 98 Regency.
This is beautiful!
Lots of room in the backseat too…
Ask me how I know
They were so comfortable back there.
You dog you 😆 🤣 😂.
Because your mom and dad told you get in the back and shut up
Lol. I’d rather not!
I had one when I was 20 years old blue beautiful car.
With a turbo 400 transmission and 5.7 V8 engine, those cars were fun to drive.
Dad had exactly the same. My girlfriend and I loved the back seat. We’re still together since 1978
Now that's a real luxury 79 Olds 98 I was 9 years old when this car was out under $ 10,000 3rd Cadillac
Wow I remember as a kid back in 1979 I saw this same car new when my grandfather was shopping for a new car at the time this car is incredible immaculate condition
A beautiful 1979 Oldsmobile. And I love the color 👍👍👍😊❤❤. Thank you guys for the video 📸📸📸📸❤❤❤😊😊😊
that was one thing I wish they would bring back from GM where the pillow top crush velor even in the 90s it would have been awesome
Nice Music, I had that Supertramp Album back in 79
That is a beautiful car❤️
My grandmother never had an Olds, close she came to this was an old horse. 🐎 😂. I never saw a Oldsmobile in Mexico, just Chevys.
When I graduated high-school my Grandfather got me this same type of car for graduating high-school. Same color 😍 👌
Color code 79. Dark Carmine Metallic. Carmine interior.
Beautiful car, beautiful ride. Awesome 👏 looking 👀ride. 😎
There’s a 1980 98 regency near me that I’m seriously considering even though it needs some love it does have that 350 engine…
Nice!
Cars like this never stop being produced!!
⚜️
I had several, including one in that color.
Couldn't beat 'em.
My Grandad had an ‘82 Olds 98 Regency😁👍🏻
belongs in a museum 👍
I worked at an Oldsmobile dealership as a Technician. The 98 was a very comfortable, long wheelbase, smooth riding heavy car. It had a large cast iron v8 engine that was smooth and powerful. A very good car that was a pleasure to drive. I owned an 88. It had a 454 CI engine in it.
Great car. loads of power and space enough inside for an entire family. Both models are examples of "The good old days" in design. M
My dad had one. Had a 403 in it.
my favorite car forever
I just pitched a tent. 😲
Those things would cruise at 100 mph all day long.
I had an 81' 2 door gas engine. It was white with a with quarter vinyl top. It had a burgundy leather interior, it got lots of compliments and my only complaint was the 305 or 307 engine. It made it to 178,000 miles with just regular maintenance, but the engine finally failed.
music kills it
You dogging Supertramp? Oh hell no.
I had a 79 Bonneville. It was like riding on air
Your Bonneville was built on the GM “B” chassis while this Olds 98 was on the “A” chassis. The Olds equivalent to your car would have been the 88. Buick, the LeSabre, Chevrolet, the Caprice & the Impala. Cadillac did not have anything on the “B” chassis.
Bonneville was on this chassis to. D body n c
I had one I ordered brand new in 1979, same color, buff leather interior, mine was a 2 door, 403 motor, trailer towing package, turbo 400 Posi rear, actually had full gauges, even a tach, in 1991, car was still perfect, never driven in the winter, but I had changed the oil, put on a Fram oil filter, it rotted out in about 3 months somehow, my wife was driving, long story short, it lost its oil, and spun some bearings, she wasn’t paying attention, I sold it to a friend and he drove it many years after rebuilding, then it got totaled in an accident. RIP! 👍😢
We have another in inventory just like this one only it has more miles and chestnut leather interior!
@@classicautomall They Are nice cars , mine was a special order car, took about 8 weeks aa I recall, the 403 was a bit of a disappointment, was used to the 455 .
My grandfather was friends with Mr. Olds. we have a book he autographed to my grandfather.
I work part-time at American Treasure Tours.
Nice!
Wow! Beautiful!
Yup ..my great grandmother had one in blue …then my grandmother had it, then my mom drove it….then I learned how to drive with it….and I still have it.

I owned an 81 and 83 coupes, and an 83 sedan. Beautiful cars. I need another one.

Beautiful car…but I’ll be shocked if it can be driven home for less than $15,000
Wish I had this one. But probably sold by now.
