Thank you thank you thank you!! I'm a beginner seamstress and this helped me a lot! I couldn't find a good diy vid for THIS style of ruffle shirt! Once again thank youu
omg I LOVE this video! ... I made my own clothes for 46 years and stopped 6 years ago.... i do NOT want to sew... i do NOT want to .. i do NOT ... but ... can I resist after watching your charming video? thank you so much ... (Barbara in New York City)
Thank you! I recently acquired a man's shirt which I'm going to make into a robe for my sister. You have given me loads of ideas!! (Mine will be longer of course - LOL)
I think you could chop off the long button section, make it into a bow, and then sew it to the back. This was fun to watch. Please make more upcycle fashion videos. Monica
As someone who has to have a sewing fix but often has no fabric, this is great! I can see I could learn so much upcycling like this and I could be adventurous without wasting valuable fabric. Thanks Tree!
I can hardly wait to try this; been buying Goodwill shirts in preparation...I want also to make one with three rows of ruffles down the sleeves, without the french cuffs. LOVE LOVE your videos and so glad I stumbled on to them via Pinterest.
+Jan Blaha Hello Jan. Yes...that would be wonderful to have 3 ruffles on the sleeve. Hope you can share it with me when it's done, would love to see it. Have fun sewing. Tree x
You are so creative Tree, please do more up cycles. I like the idea of adding the long bits to the back so you can bring in some of the volume. I turned out really beautiful. This year has been all about the deconstructed shirt.
Tree, I came back to watch this video again because this blouse you made is so cute, and soooooo summery. It gives me something sweet to plan for. The reason you are such a good teacher is because, you really think outside of the box! Bravo
+Momzilla That's such a compliment, thankyou. Make sure you see the other upcycle shirt videos too, especially the drawing with your aewing machine ine because it's easy and would look good on this. Tree x
Hi Tree, great video yes please do more up cycle tutorials I have tons of old clothes I want to change. I think a belt at the back with the placket strips would look good with maybe cuff links or buttons added .
As you walked around, I kept loving your upcycled table cloth sewn into a short jacket with belt. It s perfect. You must get lots of compliments on it.
You can do anything!!! It's just a load of tricks all put together....most of what I show doesn't involve any major dressmaking skills (apart from the Origami and TR Cutting stuff) Thankyou, Tree x
I just finished recreating this look! I left off the bottom ruffle and the shoulder ones but just the big one looks great! this was so helpful and creative!
Have you.......Oo, I would love to see that! What don't you share a photo on the Stitchless TV Facebook page or email me stitchless@hotmail.co.uk Tree Xx
+Dinny Hinds Thankyou. When you are ready, have a go and remember if they are old shirts, you would have thrown them out to be recycled or to the charity shop so not much to loose. Tree X
I love up cycling clothes. The man's shirt is fabulous. I rather like the placket hanging down with an option to tie in front or back or just hanging. So CUTE. I would never had thought to do that. So clever of you....More, please.
Hello Anne, yes....I struggled with deciding what to do with the placket until I wore it and knew then that it had to go!! More refashion projects coming and uploaded a fun one yesterday. Tree x
Thank you so much, it's lovely! I just started remaking cloths, and there is just something so creatively exciting about it. I have been also started gathering fabric by hand in intricate ways, and it allows me to take elastic out, and still have a skirt fit properly When we wear cloths that are tailored to our bodies, we feel better wearing them, and it also can make our figures look amazing at any size. Have fun, everyone!
This is the first video I watched from you and I just love how you are honest and detailed. I like how you don't use a whole bunch of pins and not allowed to Matthew Just Go With It work with your issues, and make the best out of what you have. Sometimes when I'm sewing my original idea doesn't come out well but then I go with it roll with the punches, and still try to produce something that I love! You encouraged me to continue sewing and not worry about the numbers and the patterns but to go with my gut. Thank you for that!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thakyou for taking the time to leave a comment. You know......we have quite a few of these sorts of videos.. ..about 150. Thankyou. Tree x
I love this up cycling project! Really inspiring! Personally I’d have made it without the sleeves but it’s really really nice!! Thank you for the video!
this is my first time watching your videos, it´s have been only 6 minutes of this video and i can tell how much love you put your works by the way you explain everything! thanks of the kind help!
Hi Tree , A great vid as usual. I'm new to sewing and I'm having lessons every week and enjoy watching your absolutely fab absolutely tutorials over and over again. You make everything look so easy which is all credit to your teaching ( like my teacher Steph in Henley) since watching you I look at clothes in stores and think I could make that .🙋🏻
Hallo Tree, I^ve been waiting for so long now for a new refashion video !!! Please, make more of them ! With old jeans,Shirts and..... Love your videos
OMG I love it! I have been waiting for this tutorial since I saw the pic on Instagram! This is adorable! I am trying it today, but I might leave off the sleeves to make it a little more summer weather friendly. And YES, please make more upcycles! This was brilliant!
Please, please, more up-cycle refashioning using your own unique, edgy kind of designs. This little frilly blouse is amazing and I have the shirts, now, to make it. Have you thought of doing a corset belt with large grommets? I have seen a few and they look like something you would do........but with a lot more flair!! Regards.
Hi Tree, Grommets, in this country, are like giant eyelets, put in the same way as eyelets, two parts that fit together, pressed tog. with a little tool. They come in different sizes and metal colors and an be quite attractive. They can be laced with a larger diameter cord or than eyelets. I took a pic of a corset belt at an upscale dept. store here in Ct. If I can figure out how to do it, I will add the pic to your face page, or else I will send you an email.
+Jeanne Peters Yeah.....thankyou so much, I got it! That corset belt looked great! On holiday at the moment but when back will have a think about it. Thanks again. Tree X
Yes, I want more upcycling! Loved the creativity Tree, I have a gorgeous heavy cotton shirt hanging in my closet that will be a perfect contender for this design. I suggest you make a pretty bow of the placket for the back of the shirt as the front focus is the ruffles and the shaping. I so enjoy your videos. Have a fantabulous day!
+Phyllis Gallant Hello, Thankyou so much....yes more coming but we do already have about 20 upcycle sewing tutorials....I should put them all in a playlist really! Click of VIDEOs rather than going to the homepage and it should display all 150 videos and you can pick them out. Tree X
The shirt looks amazing! Good work! Will definitely do this to some of my old shirts! I really enjoyed your video, you're so sweet. It felt like getting a sewing class from a friend. Keep making videos ❤️
Hi Tree! A great transformation again! Love it. Definately think a small belt type thing at the back is a must for you. You are so tiny that that boxy shape is a bit overwhelming for you.I also think maybe a small something of the plain contrast fabric on the front would just balance the blouse as a whole & make it look less like you ran out of fabric.Whatever you decide I think its great & fab timing as I just bought a mans shirt to transform from a charity shop.xxxx
+Elizabeth Taylor Yep...Ties have already been chopped off, ready to become a belt. You are so right about me drowning in the frills.. ....and interesting idea 're contrast. Thankyou so much....great comments. Tree x
Yes , yes , yes please more up cycle DIY - I love ur shirt refashion. It was EXACTLY what I was going to do next, ur video is very helpful 💕 If u haven't cut the button "straps" yet, u could keep them and tie them together & use it as an open "cardigan" over a dress (?!!) Love ur instructions, very encouraging for me, I feel I can do this too😊💜thxTree
+COB OB Thankyou so much and tried for a while to have them as ties but they have become too annoying so chopped them off and now thinking about little bow or belt at the back. Tree X
Oh wow! Please please please keep these coming. Where has this channel been all my life! 😀 I think I shall cut up everything in the wardrobes, just for the fun of it. I can not believe I have just found this channel, I’m totally disgusted with myself. It’s probably too late now, but I hope that you made a little back belt on the blouse, although I can imagine whatever you did looks awesome. My daughters are not going to know what’s hit them when I start dragging them around to the shops to buy men’s shirts! 🤣. Thank you so much for sharing and making the video so much fun to watch.
Ah....Thankyou Sharon, so.....glad you enjoyed it. We have a whole playlist full of refashion and upcycle clothing tutorials!! Sorry to the kids that will be dragged round charity shops!! Keep watching and commenting, helps my Algorithms and so means more people will be shown my work. Tree X
STITCHLESS TV how to sew your own style tutorials 🤩 I watched videos right throughout last night, I felt like my eyes were bleeding I was so tired, but I’m now 💯 % addicted to your channel. I have just watched the folding techniques from the workshops you took us along to with the camera. Thank you so much. I don’t know where to start, I want to everything all at once. I am a very large lady so I am looking at what I can do to make some of the things suit me, but the beautiful thing is, you make things that are created out of every day patterns. The coat you made was so awesome that there are no words for it. Also thank you so much for the tip with the 606 spray, I use the 505 for my quilting but the 606 looks so easy to use. Oh wow! I must also thank you for the tip about about adding another fabric to thin fabrics like the one your sister got you from her trip. You are an absolute legend in my eyes, you don’t leave anything out so all questions are answered, even I can understand the instructions and even better, you keep it fun to the max and the colors and different fabrics you use are beyond beautiful. Thank you again. Without trying to sound creepy, I will be watching! 🤣😂😀
Fabulous, Tree! And I would do a little belt in the back with the remaining placket ends. Please DO make more up cycling tutorials, I enjoyed this one immensely!
+amcmrw13 Thankyou. I can't believe the response.....had no idea that you liked the refashion videos so much! And yes....I already have cut the ties and preparing to add as a something at the back. Tree X
hi there Tree, Pls show us how you made d jacket you wearing on how to transform a man's shirt into a ladies blouse...I really liked it...regards, Mona..👍👍👍👍
Another thing I am having fun with is dying cloths, it can transform almost anything! Either with tea, turmeric or commercial dyes...you can buy sheets online for cheap, and it's perfect for dresses given the width of the fabric!
Thank you thank you thank you!! I'm a beginner seamstress and this helped me a lot! I couldn't find a good diy vid for THIS style of ruffle shirt! Once again thank youu

you are brilliant !!!!!!!
Thankyou. Tree.
Looking good, yes please more upcyling please👍🏻

Fabulous, Tree! And I would do a little belt in the back with the remaining placket ends. Please DO make more up cycling tutorials, I enjoyed this one immensely!
+amcmrw13 Thankyou. I can't believe the response.....had no idea that you liked the refashion videos so much! And yes....I already have cut the ties and preparing to add as a something at the back. Tree X
Love it!!! What an imagination! More please.
P.S. The button plackets look good where they are or whack a couple of tassles on them.

You could also add it to the neck band and use it as a bow around the neck.
reminds me of the feminine, ruffly blouses I wore on the early 1980s! nice idea up-cycling a mans' shirt.
+Donna Wheeler I know....during the New Romantic phase.......Thankyou for commenting and watching. Tree X

Another thing I am having fun with is dying cloths, it can transform almost anything! Either with tea, turmeric or commercial dyes...you can buy sheets online for cheap, and it's perfect for dresses given the width of the fabric!
+GoddessStone I love dying too!! It can make old clothes look like new clothes. Tree X
